this is the mock first cover. it features tucker, the worn out cybernetic wate of life that is our star.
i think it is a strong image, but i am not satisfied with the legs. especially his left knee. |

| RUIN COVERS 1 & 2 |

here are the covers to Ruin issues 1 and 2.
the theme is to have Black Zero in an action pose while representing the action/villian element of the story. so i came up with this idea of him being small and central, while the background element is huge and foreboading.
the first is carnus' (the main villian) hand. the second is gouthanus, the villian in ish 2. It was the wife's idea to use her so her boobs could sell the book.

i got a call saturday from the candygenius.
"you gotta make five characters for something i am working on. they have to be like the our gang kids. you know them? i need five of em. but they got to be hip hop and cool. like fat albert. you know, hip hop. i need them sunday."
well, i got them done tonight.
i did ten of them so he has something to choose from.
i have almost no idea what he is talking about.
and i am sick of 'hip hop' coming out of his mouth.
and isn't it ironic that i draw a comic about how much i hate those damned big pants and now i am drawing them professionally?
so these kids are going to be called 'the gang'. they are for some product called puppet pops.
i dunno what is going on. i merely await his email telling me to change everything.

ok
so i have completed the Dip Pops work. this is what it ended up as:
I had to redraw the bodies because they were "too sexual" and "commando-like" as they were previous.
I worked on making a false image for the Puppy Pop Pals:
they wanted me to make it look like the pops had the wrappers they wanted.
and i made mock ups of the wrappers that will actually be used. or so i am told
and the new project is Rattle 'n' Shake. which tonight was changed to shake and rattle.
but here is the prelim idea:
today i had to change the design some. they sent me another artist's work and i modified it. i took off the ring in the center, added the kids and changed the logo.

i am sorry i have not been updating. between getting my illustrations done and work i have not had time for myself.
i am currently working on a Babylon 5 illustration for a live journal person.
i think i might do a Boba Fett next.
and i need to get to work on Ruin again.
does anyone have a place i could get a working copy of illustrator cs2 to use? |

The client did not like some things from the first. Mainly that i drew sucky dogs. they are supposed to be labs, not hounds. so i laerned to draw labs (i hope!) |

so this is what i have been working on today. the client gave me the job this morning and my deadline is Tuesday night. so i still have some time for modifications.
the package is a box that contains 2 stuffed dogs 6" long each holding a bouquet of lollipops.
i created a mascot for this too.
now i await approval. |

i just got a job designing the packaging for a product, a small personal alarm system. i am designing the box and making a computer mock-up.
i have been out of the professioanl market for more than 10 years. i just started up again and am looking for advice on what to charge the client. I just got the job and have 7 days to complete it. any advice? |
