Hi again, guys! :3 It's time to reveal who our new mods are! ♥ Before I give the names, I want to thank everyone who applied. We had a number a very good applications, and it was a very difficult decision. In fact, we wound up deciding to take on two new mods instead of just one. It's my pleasure to be able to announce them now. :)

They can come say hello themselves if they'd like. Linda might be a bit late though, she's traveling for Thanksgiving, I believe. Everyone, please be kind and welcome them with open arms. And from Kytha and I, we're very glad to have you both aboard.

Now that the event's over, it's a good time for an Activity Check, don't you think so?

As always, the rules are here. Journals that will be autopurged for showing up with 3 weeks of inactivity twice in a row are marked with an asterisk (*) (unless links to logs/'action' logs within the last two weeks can be provided). The minimum posting requirement is a journal post once every two weeks, or log/'action' log activity in the last two weeks before the AC. If you've been logging and we missed it, just comment with a link and we'll take you off the list. Also, if you know someone's hiatused and we missed it, be sure to let us know.

Hey guys, we hope you enjoyed your snowstorm! :)

The blizzard is officially over. All missing characters will have returned to the mansion, and the snow has stopped falling. The mansion has finally stopped being so lazy and has repaired itself of the damages from storm, and everyone will find that they're no longer trapped inside. There's still snow on the ground, but it's only about a foot or so deep. That snow will remain there for the rest of the season. The animals outside seem rather undisturbed by everything that's occurred recently.

As for what's coming, that will be revealed sooner rather than later, but for now things have gone back to a relative calm, aside from the strange stories everyone's missing friends have to tell.

Everyone whose threads are currently(*) unfinished has received a PM about what information their character should have received from their NPC, so that they can do post-event things. :)

(*) - That's not to say we won't continue to thread with anyone who still wants to.

Sorry this was up a bit late; I had already drawn the names, but I forgot to put them up. Forgetful Kytha is forgetful. |D; In any case, using this handy name selector, here are the five ~lucky~ residents who'll be taking a trip out into the middle of the storm:

Should anyone attempt to search for the missing residents, they'll simply find themselves wandering in circles, unable to move too far past the front of the Mansion-- as though the wind itself is pushing them back towards the Mansion. By evening on the 21st, even exiting the doors will be impossible-- the winds have brought the snow piling up against the sides of the Mansion, completely blocking some of the windows as it builds up...

On the 22nd, the foyer of the Mansion and some parts of the residential areas (feel free to decide if your character's particular corridor is affected, but please leave a note on this post so we can keep track of the damage~) will end up rather inhospitable as some of the larger windows (including the skylight on the roof) shatter, letting the accumulated ice and snow blow indoors. Unlike most damage the Mansion suffers, this won't fix itself immediately; if you've ever wanted an excuse to have your character seek new accommodations or temporarily bunk with a friend, now's a good chance~

If you have any clarifications to ask (i know the dates and events within the event tend to follow right on the heels of each other. ;;;) please feel free to do so, and I apologize for not getting this up earlier!

Just as the title says, moderator applications are now closed. I know some of you are surely dying to hear the results right now, but Kytha and I are going to spend time deliberating over them - You haven't given us an easy choice! The results will be announced after this event is over.

Over the next week, the weather outside the Mansion will begin to change. The temperature will drop steadily, and from November 18-20, the residents of the Mansion will experience their first flurries of snowfall-- typically, it won't be heavy to start with, but the air's definitely chillier. The closets will begin to produce more clothing suitable for colder weather, and characters will find that their rooms have suddenly had fireplaces and warm rugs installed in them.

As a final reminder, moderator applications are still ongoing! They will be closing on the evening of November 18th, so there's still plenty of time to get that application in if you were planning on it. If all goes as planned, we'll be able to make an announcement before the Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks everybody~

Don't get scared - nobody's going anywhere. We're a little shorthanded here at Entranceway though, and so Kytha and I are looking for a third moderator for the game. It's a decision we're not taking lightly, and we want to absolutely make sure we find the best person for the job, so we've created a moderator application.

" Wow guys, this sounds awesome, but how do I go about trying to join the mod team?" Why, I'm glad you asked! It works as follows:

1) Fill out the application, we're giving you in this post as honestly and accurately as possible.
2) Slap it in an E-mail and send it to entrancewaymods@gmail.com.
2a) Really, e-mail it to us. Don't comment it to any of the contact pages on LJ, don't PM it to us, e-mail it to entrancewaymods@gmail.com. Thank you for your cooperation! ♥

And that's it! Applications will close at the end of the day on November 18th, and after that Kytha and I will deliberate on all of the applicants and make a decision from there. In other words, applications will be open for one week.

Regarding the current event~

If for some reason you wish to incorporate characters that aren't currently in the Mansion into the performance, that's fine. However, they'll be represented by inanimate objects and have 'voices' provided by, of course, the actors themselves-- as necessary. (Actual skill in ventriloquism optional.)

They can be in the form of hand puppets, plushies, life-sized cardboard cutouts on wheels, or the old favorite broom-with-a-picture-pasted on it; whatever works! Play out your character's tale of sordid loss and despair in highly unflattering fashion! /o/

In case you haven't seen it, the next event is another mildly er... coordination-requiring one?

NOW THAT THAT'S DONE, please please ask any clarifications, questions, etc you have in the Q&A thread of this post. :D This is mostly so we don't like, lose a question in the middle of the comments, since we expect people to use this for general coordination/to give other people a head's-up on how the parodied versions of their characters are going to be like.

It's that time of the month again! Here are the rules of our Activity Checks, for those of you still unfamiliar with them. ♥

Since we've just had a mirror event, it's entirely likely you've posted for a character on the mirroruniverse comm instead of their main journal. If that is the case, then please by all means drop us a link to their mirrorverse entry, and that will count as valid activity if it was within the last two weeks. However, just as a reminder, mirror posts will not count towards character activity-- you signed up to play the real things, after all. ;D

If exceptions need to be made (hiatuses that didn't get announced in the official post, etc) let us know. :] Journals marked with an asterisk (*) will be auto-dropped as their muns (not necessarily the journals themselves) have exceeded the two-month hiatus limit, or because this is the third time in a row they've showed up on an AC with 3 or more weeks of inactivity. :'(

Suddenly, in the midst of all of the fighting and all of the searching on the mirror side, there is a voice, crying out.

“No, please! Please don’t take it! Please don’t take Dinah away!”

And there are sobs, for a moment, before it continues.

“ Please! I’ve done nothing wrong! I’ll be so lonely without Dinah! Don’t take her, don’t take her!”

The cries become far more desperate, and panicked. But where is it coming from? Where else but the ventilation system. Through the vents, her fear and sorrow can be heard very, very clearly.

“Please, she’s all I have, she’s everything I’ve got, please don’t take her!”

And then, she really, truly begins to scream.

“DINAH! DINAH! Oh Dinah, please don’t go, don’t take her away, please! I can‘t forg-”

Her scream twists into one of excruciating pain then, mid-sentence, and it lasts for a good minute or two. Then, it goes quiet and she says nothing more.

But don’t worry! We’d never kill her! But, if you feel like trying to find out what happened, those sounds may have been coming from further upstairs. Either way though, you‘ll be hearing from dear Alice, very shortly. ♥

If any real things want to try and go back to real side, they will need to speak to an NPC that will lead them to the rabbit hole or have their mirror return to mirror side and swap them.

The Queen will speak on matters later tonight, in this last plot development! We hope you've been having fun!

Hi guys, I'd just like to make a quiiick couple of non-event-related requests.

First, please double-check if your character's LJ is on the F-list add/remove! It seems like a few journals weren't added up (whether because people forgot to comment or comments got deleted) to the list, and while I've fixed it now, it's entirely possible someone's still missing. .D.b

Second, since I'm cleaning up the member lists on the main communities and mirroruniverse is one of them-- it seems a good a chance to gather a list of mirror journals as any! :D Please comment on this entry with a list of the mirror journals you use for your characters on the mirrorverse comm, if any; that way I can clear off the journals of dropped characters without accidentally kicking anyone's mirror off. o/ I'd really appreciate it~

I'm posting this for Kytha while she's in class! The next piece of the event will be coming soon, but likely not until during the day tomorrow. ♥

"One more area of the mirrored mansion appears to open itself for intrusion-- the laboratories of Vexen's mirror. Far larger than his counterpart's, its ceiling arches high overhead. The walls are painted in pale, luminescent white-- or is that just from the circular fluorescent lights flickering, high overhead.

Most of the doors are locked, and any attempts to break them down result in being attacked by what resembles little else but insects with metal carapaces--and underneath them, instead of wings, wickedly sharp scalpels mounted on wire-fine limbs. But there are plenty of other doors to go through. Like the one over there, in one corner, left half-open as though to beckon you inside...

Inside, you'll find Alice. Or, as it happens, a reasonable imitation of her.

For Vexen's mirror wasn't idle with the blood he collected off that courtroom floor, oh no, he wasn't; he'd neatly swabbed it up and stuck it in a petri dish and spliced each cell apart, pulling out its secrets like a child pulling out a string of paper dolls.

The fruits of his labor you'll find here: one, two, a dozen Alices, in various states of... disassembly. And vivisection. Here, a skeleton stripped of flesh; there, a neatly lined row of jars with internal organs. There's an Alice staring out from where she's pinned to a lab table, one eye wide and unseeing, the other a telescopic monstrosity. Half of her torso has been replaced with copper and wire.

Turn away in disgust, attempt to pilfer any of his implements, or explore further? It's your decision to make."

And it is located on the first floor, by the entrance to the dungeons, through an ordinary door you may not have noticed the first time you passed by.

And, I think that’s it! Your characters will have a couple of days to settle and orient themselves to their new surroundings, and make their way around (and kick some mirror ass). Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning the next part will be announced, giving details on what’s in the dungeons, and what else is happening on the mirror side. I’m sure your lovely mirrors can keep them busy until then, mm? ♥

Reminder: The policy for reapplying for characters lost in the AC is that it is acceptable to use the same application except for samples (we'll need new samples from you). If you want to reapply for your character, you have one month to do so and have them keep their memories of the mansion.
