I've also had a few offers to beta read from people signing up, so I've decided to have a beta reader sign up page to help match up beta readers with writers. 10:53 pm - Round 5 Sign-Ups: CLOSED Rules: 1) Deadline for sign-ups is June 15th, 2008. 2) Deadline for posting stories is September 15th, 2008. (If you know of any major fandom events that would take place around this date, please tell me, and I'll shift the date.) 3) TURN YOUR STORIES IN ON TIME. Warn me if something comes up and you absolutely can't. 4) Stories should be at least 1,000 words long. 5) Please have someone look over your story. Beta-readers are good for you. If you cannot find a beta reader, revise it thoroughly yourself. 6) All questions should be directed to babelbabble[at]gmail[dot]com 7) You must be willing to write at least two pairings. I know that some writers have OTPs (one true pairing) or prefer to write gen, but it's impossible to match up requests and writers if everyone is overly specific about what they won't write. I've added preferences to the sign-up form to help me match you up as best as I can. Spoilers: 2.07 "The Seventh" Written for: babel who asked for T'Pol, mystery/action adventure with Archer interaction *and* I was even able to put in a bit of the other request and set it very shortly after "The Seventh" Note: As it relates to Skon, this story does try to incorporate his appearance in the novel "The Lives of Dax" at least partially. The canon conflicts a bit with Enterprise but it's tweakable. This story is horribly late and, oh god I've never been this late on a ficathon before but, well, 21,000 words! Gah. Translation: riyeht-staya: the unlawful killing of one Vulcan by another, especially with premeditated malice found in two online Vulcan Language Dictionaries (which rule massively) Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Current Mood: accomplished
