Hey, I don't think anyone actually checks this anymore but I found something kind of cool. Another one of Alan Moore's books, "V for Vendetta", is being made into a movie. This one might actually be good! Natalie Portman will be in it. So keep your eye out for it, it should be out in November.

well, due to personal reasons, i coudln't be in class today to hear the discussion but i have some pretty strong opinions about television. basically, i love it. i watch everything. every reality tv show that is on, i watch. (and we're talking about ALL of them. even the really bad ones like My big fat obnoxious fiance.) i watch every program on food network. i watch all of the cliche' popular shows like real world and the oc and law and order and all that. i watch almost all of the comercials and 9 times out of 10 i am completely sold on the product they are selling. those gap ads with sarah jessica parker......oh man. the point that im trying to make is that tv controls my life. and the life of my roomates. and the life of my younger brother who seriously does nothing but watch tv. i know that its supposed to be a bad thing because its like rotting my brain or something but i cant help it. i dont think its all that bad because my roomates and i usually make "a night of it" with our favorites like the oc and project runway on bravo. and we watched the entire series of sex and the city because i own all the dvds. it becomes a bonding thing for us and its very social. we scream and the characters, we cry at their strife, we squeal with delight when really romantic or cheesy parts come on. its a tricky situation because im trully torn as to whether or not i should feel ashamed at the amount of tv i watch. i dont think its that bad because its entertaining and there is nothing wrong with entertainment. however, i do feel like tv has taken the place of books for entertainment and thats a bad thing becase we aren't using our imaginations as much as we should be. im not gonna stop watching though..... ok. well, since project runway is a pretty new show there weren't very many fan sites about it. but i did find this: http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-26278/ also, i couldn't find ANY websites dedicated to everyday italian because not a lot of people watch it. but they should. obviously. so good. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_ei sorry this is so late. i seriously dont have any idea how to use live journal.

I enjoyed the movie The Thirteenth Floor because, though the acting was poor and such, I thought the theme and general idea were interesting. For 1999 the 'Matrix" type theme was very innovative. The themes presented in the film were deceivingly deep. Many sci-fi films of the past have been poorly made with shallow plots so in 1999 when both the Thirteenth Floor and The Matrix came out, audiences were surprised, generating a lot of buzz. The release of the Matrix probably overshadowed the other film's release, however.
