Research Proposal
I decided to do my research project on unmonitored use of the internet. I plan to discuss some of the negative effects of the internet. Some topics I will include are as follows: the way terrorists use the internet, how it is too easy for children to look at inappropriate material, and basically how the internet should be better regulated. I will explore some articles on the internet that will help me expand on my argument, as well as an essay in a book. My thesis statement: Some people may say that the Internet should not be monitored because it would cause a breach of privacy, but in all actuality, there are numerous negative effects of unmonitored use of the Internet. Although this may seem like a very broad topic, I will narrow it down as I go along. I will talk about how the things that make the internet so great are also the things that make it not so great. I thought this subject would be interesting because we hear some stuff about the negative ways the internet is used, but not a lot. We hear more about the good ways the internet is used. I thought it would be fascinating to learn more about this subject and develop my paper around these ideas.
