hmm. i think it's funny that we, our generation is existing right now at a time where a controversial issue like the world ending, is happening. really, we don't know. this day could just be an ordinary day. i don't think it will end, but science does prove something else. but, it's theory. sometimes i feel, the mind is so powerful. because everyone believes that there will be a change in 2012, therefore there will be. people always forget about mind over matter and how powerful our minds really are. what i HOPE for, is some kind of revolution. some kind of enlightenment that brings understanding and diminishes greed, corruption, and violence. MAYBE people will SPEAK out. question authority and the complicated lifestyle that people actually do live. there is so much anxiety anymore. im not talking about a perfect society, im talking about a change. some kind of change. a change for the better. technology could be for the best, but it also could be for the worst. only if it's used in the right way, but really which way is right? anyway, yes, i do believe people should speak out more, maybe that day something will move the people, a situation maybe, to be like OH MAN! this is finally complete bullshit.... LETS DO IT. because, we all know what goes on...... even if we can't change it... it's worth to know that we tried. |

11:12 PM 12/10/09 · The world is going to end. Not necessarily in 2012, I certainly hope not, but someday. I mean, when you think about it...the Earth wasn't always here. Long ago there was nothing here, even further back before that our sun wasn't here either. Go back even further and our solar system wasn't much of anyplace and certainly not here.
It's like that bit from the 3rd film in The Matrix series: "Everything that has a beginning has an ending."
Someday the Earth will not be here...again. The human race will probably have died long before that, or moved to a different sphere of real estate, but regardless.
Earth go bye bye.
There have been numerous end of the world scenarios over the course of time. Hell, the early Christians thought the world was going to end shortly after Jesus kicked the bucket. Most every single cult that has existed since then have some belief the planet's going to end soon. This Mayan Calendar hysteria is just the latest run in a long succession of the WE'RE ALL GONNA FUCKING DIE stuff.
Although, to be fair, it has been around the longest.
December the 21st 2012 is a little vague. Most of the other doomsday prophecies have a description of what's going to, more or less, happen. Not so with this, just the date. Well, and the planetary alignment...which has been confirmed. All the planets in our solar system, Pluto too no matter what questionable status it holds may be determined at that point, will all be in a straight line on that date. Astronomers are all excited about this, it doesn't happen very often...
...but other than that, not much of a gameplan.
We have the date but what we don't know about December the 21st 2012 is whether or not the world is supposed to end that day, was ending and just finishes up on that day, or starts to end on that day and the process will go on for an unspecified about of time after that. It's all very vague.
Many will tell you that this Mayan Calendar prediction is not an end but the beginning of a new cycle. Of course they say that. Why would everyone embrace the WE'RE ALL GONNA FUCKING DIE if they weren't forced to? I hope they're right but it's not even 2010 yet...
...and unless the Monolith shows up and weird stuff starts to happen then...
...well, yeah.
There's a number of theories what might happen but the Mayans themselves were apparently content with simply stating that's the last date. I suppose that when contemplating the end of everything, so far as this planet is concerned, the little details are not that big a deal. Not unless there's a way to stop it...which there probably isn't.
I think the alignment might be the kicking point. Most powerful force in the universe, so far as we know, is gravity. All the planets are held in their orbits by gravity so all of them in a straight line means a stronger pull in a particular direction concentrated, least that's how it seems to me.

5:27 PM 11/12/09 · Great chunks of our past our simply missing without any clear reason as to why. People like the Mayans and the Aztecs disappeared for seemingly no significant reason other than they're just gone, with no traces of evidence telling the tale. One popular theory is that it was a powerful disease that killed them off and burnt itself out when there was no one left to catch it.
Perhaps that's the real purpose behind the swine flu. It is here to cutt off the chaff, to eliminate the weak until those of us left, the strong, can pick up the pieces and move on.
This is my current theory up until I catch the swine flu, whereupon this view may be adjusted somewhat. |
