| About: | This community has been created as a space for parents who work for money to get to know other LJ users with similar interests. We recognize that all parents work, since childcare is work even if we enjoy it most of the time. Parents who are also employed face a particular set of challenges in balancing and integrating work and family life. We hope that community members can support each other through those challenges, share tips and successes, and generally get to know one another better by posting here.
Membership is open -- both WOHMs and WOHDs, both WAHMs and WAHDs are welcome. (Others are welcome to join the community as well -- SAH parents who want to get a view on "the other side of the fence", people who might have children someday and want to get insights into the balancing act, employers and managers whose employees are wrestling with the balancing act and want to get a sense of what can be done to make workplaces less hostile toward parents and more family-friendly...) Basically, anyone with an interest in the issues facing employed parents is welcome.
