Hey guys,
The archive is down, and yes we're aware of it. My apologies for not alerting you all sooner. The server didn't send us a notification that the payment was due, so when it wasn't received they suspended our account.
Never fear... the account HAS been paid and it will be reactivated. They said via email correspondence 24 - 48 hours. That was a day and a half ago. If it isn't back up tomorrow I'll be pestering them again to get everything switched back on. And I've sent in a technical issue email about the fact I was not alerted to the status of the bill.
We apologise for the inconvenience. We WILL be back soon.

I don't know how but it seems I forgot to add the Reader's Choice Poll for Round 5 at Spark and Burn Awards. Well, it's up now. Because that's one thing about S&B that I refuse to change. Every round the readers---this means YOU---get the opportunity to make a choice about recognising their favourite fics.
The votes forms are all updated, it's just a matter of heading on over to the site and making your choice!
The winners for Round 5 have been decided, and the notification made as soon as the awards are completed.
So that means the Reader's Choice Poll won't be open for as long as it normally is. You've got five days guys to get over there and cast your vote.
Please, please, please read the few simple rules at the top of the vote page, each and every vote is important and I don't want to have to delete it because you didn't read the rules.

hey ya'll,
i'm looking for a fic. i can't remember who wrote it but i KNOW it's either at Elysian or Spuffy Realm. it's set after NFA. Spike is human, has married, divorced, and has a kid or two. he doesn't remember anything after NFA. he lost his memory and showed up at a hospital. although he can't remember anything, he has nightmares about what happened and how he lived. i didn't get far in the story but he does still live in CA and runs into Dawn at a coffee shop, where she works. she recognizes him but he doesn't her. i also remember that he drives a really crappy car, lol.

Three of Elysian Fields’ admins—Megan, Spikeslovebite, and myself—run an online community via Live Journal called Seven Seasons. Originally opened as a way for authors and artists to express Spuffy love through the seasons of BtVS, it has been at a standstill since the conclusive round.

In case you hadn't noticed, over the last 24 hours or so the archive was offline. It was incredibly frustrating, so apologies to anyone who tried to access the site but couldn't. Apparently the archive has become too popular because we reached our bandwidth limit (basically we had too many visitors over the last month) so our account was temporarily frozen. It would have reset itself on the 1st of June but we didn't want to keep people waiting. We've upgraded the account so hopefully this won't happen again. As a precaution, so we can email you if there are ever any issues with the site in the future, it would be really great if everyone could sign up to either a) our new yahoo mailing list, or b) become a member of the LJ community for the archive. | Regarding adult material |

Over the past few weeks, I've received an abundance of emails from readers who, while over the age of 17, are unable to access adult material. Let me be perfectly clear: in order to read NC-17 and AO stories, you MUST have an account! This is a preventive measure Elysian Fields takes to ensure young readers don't access stories with mature themes. It is in NO WAY full-proof -- we understand this, and I believe the bulk of our readers do, as well. However, by signing up for an account, readers acknowledge and accept responsibility for what they read. This site is and will remain a haven for writers wishing to explore mature themes, but we must also be responsible -- or as responsible as an archive can feasibly be, considering out limitations.
The admin is aware of the loopholes young readers can take to get around these roadblocks. We are merely taking an extra step -- a step other archives do not take. I apologize for any inconvenience. |

Anyone willing to be a beta reader? I have an author who really needs someone to fix her punctuation and shape up the grammar; I don't have time to do it myself with school, my WIPs, work, and the like. She's already contacted several people who listed themselves as available betas at Elysian Fields and has thus far been ignored. She's done her part, and since she hasn't been successful, I'm trying to help.
The story is fun; a oneshot and smutty. It just needs some TLC by a good beta reader. Here's the summary:
Set season five, episode Fool for love. What if instead of pushing Spike to the ground and telling him he is beneath her Buffy admitted to "Wanting to dance"?.
Any takers?

| Needing a Beta Reader |

I am looking for a beta reader.
Here is my story idea.
Buffy is a singer or player in a band that's about to make it big. Spike is a young, inexperienced but talented art student/photographer/intern for some promoter or label, etc... Recent happenings have them in contact a few times and Spike develops a star-struck crush on Buffy. They eventually get to meet at a party after seeing each other around a few times, and a bit of an on-again/off again, loose romance develops. However, as the band gets more famous, there is talk of touring nationwide, as well as going to Europe and even Japan. As the gigs get bigger the parties get wilder; Buffy is having the time of his/her life; Spike is having a lot of job success as well, exposing him/her to more and more important people. Spam reviews. We've been getting them, and in bulk. A few of the worst cases are demonstrated here and here. I know that angelic_amy asked that everyone email us for an opinion on what to do as a solution, but seeing as we've been getting a slew of varying answers, I'm going to take a straight up or down vote.

First of all, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has filled in nomination forms so far - I'm sure the authors are very appreciative! However, we could most definitely do with a lot more nominations! In fact, there are some categories which are in danger of not being included in judging for Round 3 due to a lack of nominees. Surely there are more fics out there that deserve to be recognised? We have a little over a week until nominations close (the 20th of June), so it would be really great if we could fill some of those categories.
If you have a favourite, a piece of fiction that you believe merits acknowledgement...
...go ahead and nominate it!

Spark and Burn Awards is looking for some more judges for Round 3. We've had two very successful rounds so far, but the farewell of a few judges coupled with an increase in category numbers means we're a little short staffed! Anyone interested in possibly judging for Round 3 (which could also extend to future rounds as well if you're keen), please check out Spark and Burn today.
