AboutThis community is for people who want a tattoo in an elvish language to post to, and a translator will get back to you with a translation. You need to include in your post:
1. What the thing you want translating is
2. What language you want it in: Quenya/High Elvish, or Sindarin (which is what Arwen speaks), or not sure/don't mind (in which case you will probably get it in Quenya because that is what the maintainer speaks).
3. What file type you want the translation in - at the moment we can do .jpg, .bmp, .gif, .psd but as more translators offer their services there may be more file types available.
A volunteer translator will then leave a comment on the post saying "I'll do it, drop me a line". You then send an email to their @livejournal.com address, and they send you back the translation. The translator will not keep your email address once they have sent the translation.
***NOTE: TURNAROUND IS CURRENTLY ABOUT THREE MONTHS, BECAUSE WE'RE ALL BUSY AND/OR TIRED. REQUESTS ARE WELCOME, BUT BE PREPARED TO WAIT. SORRY ABOUT THIS.***
Why like this? - because there is no other way to do it, as free users don't have @livejournal.com email addresses to send the translations to. (If you do have a really good workable alternative idea I would love to hear it though because this one is less than perfect.)

lordoftherings, high_elven, or any others not specifically for tattoos. The purpose of creating this community was to relieve the numbers of people posting tattoo queries in those communities so that discussion on other topics could proceed more freely. Thank you.
note 7/29/07: Our community has fallen on darker days, and we need more translators!! Send me an email if you are interested joey*albinATgmail*com . If you are wanting a translation, go ahead an post it, in hopes that a translator will eventually get to it.
