I have a large collection of VHS (NTSC) videotapes that I've accumulated over the years containing rare Elvis Costello material -- Full concerts, interviews, film and TV appearances from all over the world from 1977 to around 1998. I've been selling the collection off and wondered if anyone here would be interested in buying them. If you have the capability (which I don't), you could even transfer this material from VHS to DVD and have it forever. Quality varies depending on the tape but all are at least fair and playable. I also have a large audio collection on cassette tapes of concerts and special presentations and would be willing to sell those as well.

This is an Original painting done on a skateboard deck. It is a record player and has a real Elvis Costello record and real knobs. This is a really awesome piece done by a NY artist known under the name BombArt1978. The front of the board says "You think you're alone until you realize you're in it. Love is here for a visit..." The wood it is mounted on is about 3"x9". The back is signed and has the lyrics to the song Watching The Detectives. This would look great on any persons wall!

"Spectacle: Elvis Costello with..." will be hosted by its namesake and produced in conjunction with Sir Elton John's Rocket Pictures. Elton John will be one of the program's Executive Producers.
The series will air beginning later this year, on CTV in Canada, Channel 4 in the UK and Sundance Channel in the US. FremantleMedia Enterprises, will handle sales of the show to the rest of the world.

I hate begging like this, but there's something healthy about admitting your own shortcomings, right? I'm totally in love with EC's version of "Beautiful", and I've been trying to play along on my guitar, but I suck at figuring out songs by ear. Once I learn a riff, I can remember it and play it fairly well, but getting there is a problem. Through Google I found a few pages with guitar chords for Christina Aguilera's version, and tried to figure something out based on those, both open and with the capo in several places, but to no avail. So, here comes the begging part: has anyone here figured out how to play (on guitar) the little ditty being played on chimes right before the singing starts? If so, couldy ou please share? If not, is there anyone here that's good at figuring out these things, and feels like giving it a shot? TIA.

I'm somewhat certain that there was a post a while back where someone was looking for the Elvis Costello cover of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" that was featured in House.
It'll be featured on the first House soundtrack, being released on 18 September 2007. I think the track listing looks pretty great myself:
