About  about ellen Ellen Pompeo was born on November 10th 1969 at Boston. She's the 6th children of the family, all her siblings are at least 8 years older. Her mother died when she was 4 and that has really marked her: she says now "she wants to live the life her mother never had". At 19, she leaves the Salem State College and is only thinking about her big dream: become an actress. She goes to Miami in the 90' where she works as a waitress, but then, at 24, she realizes nothing will happen to her in this city so she moves to New York. There she is bartender where she meets her agent and she passes audition for commercials like for l'Oréal. Finally, in 1996 she gets her first real role in an episode of Law & Order! Her carreer begins! After many little roles in series and movies, she's getting a leading character in the very good movie Moonlight Mile, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Dustin Hoffman. Then she plays in Spielberg's movie Catch Me If You Can, with Leonardo DiCaprio, in 2004 in Friends, etc... In 2005 she's turning a pilot for ABC, Secret Service, which isn't picked up. Then Ellen plays Meredith Grey in a new series Grey's Anatomy. Everyone on this serie thought it wouldn't last more that one little season, but Grey's becomes the new hit-show on ABC, everyone wants to see what happens weekly to the interns and their loveinterets!
