A Post in July I've lost 7 pounds in the past 7 days. I've started going to yoga dance on Fridays. I've climbed a 14er. I'm not going to Australia until 2009, which sucks, but I'll deal with it (thanks for understanding, Reeny! I love you!) Burning Man is less than 30 days away. I still haven't re-taken the IRS exams. I'm still desperately seeking whatever it is that I'm seeking. I've converted most of my web sites over to B2Evolution. I've thought seriously about withdrawing even more from the Internet. I went to a high school reunion. I got to see Letizia, and finally told her that I love her (that only took 9 years!) I want a Honda Goldwing and a Toyota Tacoma. I'm DOWN to only working 60 hours per week. Most of my cork board at work is covered with ice skating crap, not work crap. I've joined the US Figure Skating Association and the Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Club. I start freestyle skate sessions in late August. I'll be competing in my first competition sometime this winter. I can't remember the last time I shot my guns, but keep my skates in my car at all times. I have dreams about practicing moves in the field. When I'm at work, I'm wishing I was at the ice centre. When I'm at the ice centre, I don't want to be anywhere else. My next fixed place of residence will very likely be within a few blocks of the ice centre. My bankruptcy isn't discharged yet, but will be most likely while I'm at Burning Man. I've become disenchanted with politics. I want a Hello Kitty tattoo, for real. I now do some sort of workout 6 days a week. I'm now eating under 2,000 kCal per day. I love the Masalans. I'm finally starting to realize that if I came out of the closet, nobody would give a shit. I'm becoming more comfortable being myself, which means being fruity and faerie-like. Whatev. I'm sick of living in my car. I still miss my ex-wife. I want a cat. 2008 is going by faster by the month. It's almost midnight and I'm getting the hell outta the office. |

Down to the hours now!!!! Counting down to the hours in which my husband will be home!!! I am getting so nervous, not like scared, just like OMG, first kiss nervous...LOL...Not many people get to experience the "first kiss" like a military spouse does...I have butterflies and I am all jittery!!! I cannot wait!! I think my daughter is more excited that I am!!! OMG, I still have so much to do!!! Anyone wanna come over and help me clean my house? Seriously?? LOL...I have a ton of laundry, which I can probably hold off on, and I have to do the dishes and the floors and pick up my room and get all of the stuff off of the porch...ARGH!!! I am so afraid that Lee will think that all I did was sit on my ass since he left, even though everyone knows I didnt...Oh well!!! Love to you all!!! I may be MIA for a few days, but I will definately post pictures (as long as Michelle is still offering to take them...LOL...) Love to everyone!!! Melissa Current Mood: energetic |

grrrr Okay, so I just found out that my hours at work are being cut...Better than being fired I suppose....When I started here, I was only supposed to be part time anyways, but got shoved into full when another girl quit and I took over her job...It sucks that we are going to be losing about half of my paycheck, but the way I see it, I STILL HAVE A JOB...We just lost one of our big accounts and I am the one with the fastest pace (meaning I get my shit done in a short amount of time and wind up twiddling my thumbs for 5 hours a day)...This is actually a hidden blessing, because with us TTC, and then me possibly getting prego soon, it will help with me needing rest etc...I am still going to keep Katelynn in school full time (we pay the same either way because she would still be there 5 days a week) so that I can get things done when I get off work without having to keep her entertained...When Lee goes on terminal leave, we are going to knock her down to 2 days a week and save 50-75 a week on daycare...Who knows, I might just get another job that will work with my part time schedule, or MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, I can take a few classes and go back to school, which I need to do for when Lee gets out of the Army and into the CG...Wish us luck!!

Helicopters and small planes fly over the beach pretty regularly--the Coast Guard or people taking air tours. We always wave at them when they pass. Today we waved at a red helicopter flying low and someone waved back.
First time that's happened. Coolest thing ever. |

Cheap Decor...I am so proud!!! Okay, last night I was in the living room wondering how to make it look a little more "shabby chic" than it already does...I have the awesome deal floor lamps in there with nice shades that I found (also on clearance at Lowes for 10.49 each, normally 24.99) and I decided that I would put up new curtains...I went to Walmart and was looking around...For the length/width of the curtains that I need, it would have been 29.99 for each panel, plus the curtain rod...YUCK!!! Then I thought, "what would look just as good, if not better, and be cheap?"...TWIN SIZE FLAT SHEETS!!!!!! The cheap low thread count (130 and 200) were 2.50 and 3.00 each!!! HOLY CRAP!!! They are a little long, but that is part of the shabby chic charm!! You can always cut them to length and use the remainder as ties for the new curtains that you have!! I did have to cut a little piece off of the ends of the 200tc ones to put them on the rod (they were not open like the 130tc ones were), but they look great!! I am looking for a valance right now, but I think I like the way they look without one...We are in the Army, so we move alot and this would be a GREAT cheap idea if you want to change the look and have multiple uses for one item (ie, sheets for the kids room, guest bed, curtains, fort material etc)...Hell, you dont even have to follow any kind of "care and use" directions, just throw them in with the regular wash!!! I will post pictures once I get them loaded to the computer!! YAYA!!!!! Cheap

I love this island. The house we're staying in is absolutely beautiful. It's down a long driveway and surrounded by cedars, so even when we're sitting out on the (enormous and fantastic) screened-in porch, we can't tell that there is anyone else here. The water is great and Lauren and I are getting some great rides. Yesterday we saw a pod of dolphins playing not too far offshore. I think we might have been the only people on the beach who saw them. The sandpipers are out in force and we got buzzed by a pelican this morning. Everything feels different out here. To tell you the truth, I'm not even really sure what day it is. Ok, so Lauren and I watch a lot of television, but most of it is X-Files. I love sitting out on the porch listening to the breeze. I kind of wish we never had to go home. Current Mood: lazy |
