elite_help is a community where all icon makers can come for general icon help. Although this community is mostly targeted to newer iconmakers, everyone is welcome. You can share techniques/tutorials to enhance bases, general icon tutorials, post your own icons that need an extra push and ask for suggestions. There is an open community, which means anyone can join and anyone can post. Before you do post, please read the rules.
What you can post
- Your own icons that seem a little dull to you, asking for suggestions and/or constructive criticism.
- Asking if you think your icons have improved since the last post. Please provide links back to the original and improved icons.
- A general technique or tutorial for enhancing bases. Please specify which program you're using.
- A general tutorial that covers the basics, like cropping and coloring.
- A basic guide to a specific program.
The tutorials do not have to be your own, but please ask the writer before you post it here.
What you cannot post
- A full batch of icons, that you're pleased with, to show off and for people to use. This is not an icon posting community.
- A full icon tutorial. This is not a tutorial posting community.
Still a little confused? Here's some example posts.
General rules apart from the above mentioned
1. No flaming. You'll be banned.
2. No rude comments. There's a big, fat, glow-in-the-dark line between constructive criticism and just plain mean. Don't cross it.
3. Type in proper English. No sticky caps, chatspeak/netspeak, 1337, whatever.
4. Advertising is allowed as long as it's related. Don't pimp your own icon journal.
5. Place large graphics under an LJ-cut. Don't know how to use one? Read this.
