Looking for Eli Stone SUPERFAN who LOVES to write!

Posted by [info]keithp23 on 2008.09.06 at 13:23
Hi folks,

My name is KP and I'm the Head Writer for TheTwoCents.com. It's a TV site that I started just over a year ago. I'm just a normal guy with a real job, but I LOVE TV. I tried to keep up with my favorite TV shows on my own, but just couldn't do it on the site.

SO - I'm looking for other fans of my favorite shows to volunteer to do weekly recaps / reviews, in your own style, for our site. We have a bunch of staff writers but we don't have anyone for Eli Stone.

TheTwoCents.com was created for people to share their own TwoCents on reviews/recaps that we write and it is starting to take off. We're going to an all new format in the next few weeks, so it's very exciting times around here. Are you in?

If you're at all interested, please email me at kp@thetwocents.com or let me know by visiting TheTwoCents.com and using the Email button. I'd love to hear from you.

If not - enjoy the the new season!!!

-KP

More about guest-stars Katie Holmes and Sigourney Weaver...

Here's an article from AfterEllen.com about Eli Stone's guest-stars, Katie Holmes and Sigourney Weaver: http://www.afterellen.com/blog/thelinster/katie-holmes-and-sigourney-weaver-turn-to-stone

Highlights...

"...Katie Holmes will play an attorney on the Oct. 21 episode, marking her return to television. Rumor has it that she will be in one of the show’s trademark song-and-dance numbers."

"On board for later in the season is everyone’s favorite alien fighter, Sigourney Weaver. Weaver will play Eli’s therapist, who has a big task ahead trying to analyze the mind of a man who thinks God looks like George Michael. (Although, come to think of it, that’s better than George Burns.) I don’t know about you, but that deep, rich voice of hers could soothe my irrational fears any old day."

http://tvwatch.people.com/2008/07/18/katie-holmess-eli-stone-costars-gush-about-working-with-her/

"Katie Holmes is already a hit with the cast of Eli Stone .

“She was super gracious and lovely,” Natasha Henstridge, who plays the title character’s ex-fiancée Taylor Wethersby, said at an ABC party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Thursday night. “And statuesque and gorgeous.”

And not afraid to contribute a little elbow grease when necessary. The first thing Holmes did during her guest-starring turn was help move furniture.

“I was literally moving a table with [executive producer] Greg Berlanti at the table read, and Katie came in and said, ‘Do you guys need any help?’” Henstridge said.

“Katie throws down her Starbucks and runs over to help move tables,” said Jason Winston George, who plays Keith Bennett on the show.

Holmes, who began filming her guest spot on Tuesday, is slated to appear in the Oct. 21 episode of the legal dramedy. She plays a nonprofit attorney."

According to an article, http://www.tv.com/eli-stone/show/68652/story/11492.html?tag=story_list;title;0, Katie Holmes will guest-star on Eli Stone during Season 2:

"Apparently Katie Holmes is still alive. The Dawson's Creek alum and wife of the diminutive Tom Cruise is heading back to television with a guest spot on ABC's Eli Stone. Speaking with TV.com, Eli actresses Loretta Devine and Julie Gonzalo (editor's note: meow!) spilled the news during an interview and said that she'll be on for an upcoming episode. As with many other characters on the show, Holmes is rumored to do a bit of singing and dancing."

And from here, http://www.movieweb.com/tv/news/02/30002.php:

"Katie Holmes returns to television to guest star in an episode of ABC's Eli Stone entitled Grace. Holmes plays a non-profit attorney whose mysterious fate leads her to Eli (Jonny Lee Miller).

Eli Stone reunites Holmes with co-creator and executive producer Greg Berlanti, whom she previously worked with on Dawson's Creek. Most recently she starred in the feature film Mad Money, opposite Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah. She has also appeared in such critically acclaimed films as Thank You for Smoking, Wonder Boys and Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm", as well as the blockbuster Batman Begins. This Fall Holmes will make her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons," starring alongside John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, and Patrick Wilson.

Eli Stone stars Jonny Lee Miller as Eli Stone, Victor Garber as Jordan Wethersby, Natasha Henstridge as Taylor Wethersby, Laura Benanti as Beth, Loretta Devine as Patti, Sam Jaeger as Matt Dowd, James Saito as Dr. Chen, Matt Letscher as Nathan Stone, Julie Gonzalo as Maggie Dekker and Jason George as Keith Bennett.

Eli Stone returns TUESDAYS (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) this Fall on ABC."

Eli Stone returns October 14 on ABC for a second season!

http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/

"Last season, lawyer Eli Stone (Jonny Lee Miller), was having mysterious visions, but he didn’t know if they were the result of an aneurysm or the consequence of being a prophet. This season, “The first episode addresses head-on the big questions at the end of last year: Is Eli alive or dead? Is the aneurysm in or out? Is he having visions or not? You’re going to get answers to all those questions. ... The visions in the premiere are completely unlike any of the visions that we had last year—even the musical numbers are completely different and it sets the tone of ‘expect the unexpected,’” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a July interview.

There will be major upheaval at Eli’s law firm, Dr. Chen will be doing something new with his life, Eli’s condition will become more public, and there’s a major development for law firm head Jordan Wethersby, Victor Garber’s character. Two more hints from Guggenheim: Even though Eli was on the road to accepting his visions, “we’re changing the nature of how things happen to him,” and also, one character’s life “is in jeopardy because of a cataclysmic event that someone other than Eli sees.” Finally, the show has had a couple of casting coups: Katie Holmes guest stars in the second episode of the season—she’ll play an attorney—and Sigourney Weaver guest stars as a therapist treating Eli."

Current Music: Feeling Good - Michael Buble
Hello! I'm here wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out, and perhaps allow me to have some Eli Stone clips for a school project I'm working on! We got to choose a show and then proceed to make opening credits for it :D!

I've already gotten some clips from eli-stone.org, a wonderful site! But I was hoping to see if anyone here had high quality clips!

I'm trying to get clips that focus on the cast, such as Nathan, Patti, Dr. Chen, Taylor, Jordan, and Maggie.

Any and all help is deeply appreciated, and if someone does step forward with clips, I'll make you something, such as a drawing, graphic, icons, etc. Thanks again!

Last nights episode of Shark

Posted by [info]movehalfaninch on 2008.05.14 at 16:34
Who watched Shark last night?!

First of all: NOOOO. I can't believe they're cancelling it. Can
someone confirm this as being true/false? Sorry for the xp, but I
gotta know if it's true.

Secondly: That band Castaneda that was on last night was so good! I
found their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/castanedaband ... the song they played on the show was called "Pixels".

Anyway, if someone could please verify if Shark getting cancelled is
true or not, please advise. And sorry again for the XP.

Does anyone know where I can find some screencaps? I looked around, but haven't found any. I'd like to do more wallpapers, especially one of Eli and Nathan. I love the show and I just adore the scenes with the two of them. They're both just too cute! Anyway, if someone knows where I can find screencaps, I'd be very grateful if you could point me in the right dicrection.

A better review of the show...

Here's a much nicer review of Eli Stone found at http://www.tvguide.com/Roush-Review/080123-01:

"Adorably quirky and emotionally surprising, Eli Stone is a legal drama the same way Pushing Daisies (how I miss it) is a mere whodunit. Yes, Eli is a lawyer who can wow 'em in the courtroom. But his entertaining story is one of puzzling, fanciful and often musical hallucinations that propel this ambitious corporate attorney into a new career path: as a crusading do-gooder who just might be a modern prophet.
It makes sense that his late father's ashes are in a Chock Full o' Nuts coffee can. Eli may have inherited his fine madness, which is diagnosed as an inoperable brain aneurysm. His bizarre symptoms — lavish production numbers in his head, a buzzing biplane only he can see — are making him a better, if stranger, person.

Jonny Lee Miller is perfectly charming as Eli, juggling smarts and silliness with a wide-eyed wonder as he bumbles helplessly through his visions of George Michael in his living room and boardroom, eventually learning to believe in people, including himself. There's a little Don Quixote, a little Eastern mysticism (including a trip to the Himalayas), in his feel-good journey.

Eli Stone is blessed with a strong and diverse supporting cast, including Alias' Victor Garber — who gets to sing in the second episode — as his tough but curious boss (and potential father-in-law), Loretta Devine as his overprotective assistant and James Saito as a philosophical acupuncturist who's not quite what he seems.

Watching Eli take on seemingly hopeless cases with the help of a ditzy young associate (Julie Gonzalo in a thankless role) offers lump-in-the-throat moments aplenty. There's a glow about Eli as he confronts the new magic in his life. Where he goes, I want to follow.

Eli Stone airs Thursdays, 10 pm/ET, ABC"

A brief (and not great) review of the show...

Here's a brief, not so nice review about the show from http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/Story?id=4222524&page=2:

Still, some of the flights need grounding. The cases need to be bolstered, and as enjoyable as it is to see Eli chased by a biplane, the trick loses steam through over-repetition. There are only so many times Eli can get sucked into a hallucinatory dance number before he, and we, figure it out -- and they've already hit the limit.

And you know what happens when you hit viewers too hard, right? They hit back.

I'd think this place would be slightly more active, considering the show is starting in a little more than a month.

I'm really hoping this one does well. I'm a huge JLM fan and was always sad that Smith didn't pick up more and, now, here's a series that JLM is actually starring in. I think the pilot was pretty damn enjoyable, though it started slow.

What's everyone else's opinions? And is anyone else worried that the network might just let this flop...?

More information about Eli Stone...

Posted by [info]allana_djo_solo on 2007.10.26 at 11:58
Here's a brief summary of the show that I found at http://abc.go.com/fallpreview/elistone/index:

"Following on the success of their current hit Brothers and Sisters, Ken Olin (Alias), Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti (Everwood) create a unique, character-driven drama that explores the very different worlds of law and spirituality in a humorous and heartfelt way. Combining the fantasy and spirituality from The Ghost Whisperer, sincerity and passion from The Practice and quirky humor from Monk, the show explores whether we can change the course of our lives in midstream.

Today, the worst thing happened to mercenary attorney Eli Stone. A case made him care. As if that's not hard enough for a soulless shark, Eli's also hallucinating -- larger-than-life visions of pop stars and his dead relatives. Could it be that Eli's not cut out to be a cutthroat lawyer but actually has a higher calling? Well, if the universe can bring his college girlfriend back to him, then maybe he needs to risk everything he's worked for, including gunning for partner and his relationship with the boss' daughter, to take on his own law firm. Eli's as surprised as anyone that it works and that it feels so good.

Now, instead of defending evil mega-corporations, he's fighting for the little guy in his law firm's new pro-bono department. As for those visions, his doctor thinks it might be an aneurysm, just like the one that tortured his father. But Eli sees a greater possibility, a destiny to become a spiritual prophet. He might not have been anyone's first choice but, given his looks, charm and intelligence, it's an excellent one.

Eli Stone stars Jonny Lee Miller (Smith, Trainspotting), Natasha Henstridge (Commander-in-Chief), Loretta Devine (Grey's Anatomy, Waiting To Exhale) and six-time Emmy® nominee Victor Garber (Alias, Legally Blonde). Over the years, the legal trade has earned billions… but with Eli Stone, it has finally made a prophet."
