03:08 pm - Short stories
Hi everyone!  I've begun posting some of my short stories on my blog at www.unifiedterrancommunity.co.uk.

"The Unified Terran Community is a blog written by the author of a series of short stories based on a technological utopia beginning to lose its way."

It'd be great if you could pop over and have a read, then let me know what you think!

10:36 pm - Promoting my Wyvern Shelf
Please check out my writing at:

http://www.elfwood.com/~davianlore

My illustration on my poem is broken and formats wrong in IE since the last Elfwood Upgrade, and my shorter works are eclipsed by the line of advertising between the summary and the text, but...

.... well... feel free to stop by.  I may be gone soon.

Thanks,

Davian (D. Eckhart)

07:40 pm - Art Exchange Community
Hey folks, I thought some people watching might have made up characters and be interested in art trades.

[Bad username: mrcaex"] - Monthly Random Character Art Exchange is a community here which works on a "Secret Santa" principle - like this:
You submit a link to a page with information about your characters - could be a set of Livejournal entries, even.

Each round lasts one month. When it starts, you will get the link to the info page someone else submitted. You pick one of their characters and draw a picture, while someone else got your link and draws an image for you. Everyone has until the end of the month to submit art to the community.

If that sounds interesting to you, here's a link to the Community Profile with more information, and one for the Signup for February, which will be running until Saturday (inclusive)

Thanks!

10:43 pm - Saul Chernick Interview
I learned about Saul Chernick while reading Paddy Johnson’s Art Fag City blog. In many ways Saul Chernick flirts with the basics of why the practice of creating visual art came into being. He explores a unique purposes of art in that artists have long given physical presence-- as in drawings or paintings-- to the thought of metaphysical entities. Chernick is interested in the visual interpretations of such things because they uncover the beliefs and mindset of those who devised them.

The artist has stated that many of his ideas originate from depictions of miraculous events and figures-- as they appear in Judeo/Christian mythology-- and that he utilizes drawing to revisit, reinterpret, and reconfigure them. The end result is a body of work that meshes old with new in that contemporary issues and secular viewpoints come together with the convictions of past fears and desires that have remained with us in since the Renaissance.

12:19 am - Watercolor Tutorial
Heyas!

Finally had time to do a watercolor tutorial. I know the sound is a bit messed up on the first one. I'm still learning how to use (and not use!) the video camera.

There's a lot of parts to this thing, and they aren't all finished. I hope to upload more tonight and tomorrow!

I got by Stephie Stone at Elfwood ;D

12:01 am - Websites designed for artists, BY an artist
There is nothing more frustrating then spending hours trying to figure out coding to update your website, or add on a new feature. It is the quickest way to silence your muse. You should be working on your art, but instead you are wasting hours trying to figure out how to build your website, or update it.

I want to it for you. I understand the frustrations of trying to do things all your own. My passion is working with artist, to help them create a place where they can display their work professionally. I want to create websites that look wonderful, and are easy to maintain and update.

This month, I am offering a special deal to my fellow artist. For a limited time, for $600, you will get a year of excellent hosting, and a custom designed website, created for you by someone who understands what is important to you.

If you are interested, drop me an email [megan @ stringfellowart .net] or visit my website: [link]

04:45 pm - Hi Folks
Shameless plug time....as ever :)

I have a story which I would love to get feedback on....only because writing is no fun if no-one reads it....I love creating and would love to know if people like what I am doing (for no other reason that to satisfy my ego haha)...but critiques are always welcome...none of us are precious darlings...we all are students and we are all learning...if it can be fun as well, hey, then there's nothing like it. Right?

Hope you enjoy!

09:59 am - The good the bad and the ugly

I just threw up the first sections of a new novel "Elundi" on my page and am looking for some feedback of the ruff first draft.  The good the bad and the ugly you will not hurt my feelings I promise there is nothing you can say about it that I have not already told myself.  Any help or support you can give me would be greatly loved.
