San Japan aftermath: Ali's con review

Even so many days after the con is over, I'm still thrilled about having had the chance to attend! I would like to congratulate Proz (as though I haven't done it already in person and on the San Japan messageboards...) on a first-year con very nicely done! I heard very few complaints about it, the worst of which were usually just about the heat in San Antonio when you walked between con buildings. We had a pretty busy time, though, and didn't check out any panels or many con events besides the game room and the concerts. Had to practice for our performance and, well...the concerts!

Anyway, the result of all this chatter is that we had a grand old time, and thanks to everyone who contributed to the fun and chaos! DM Ashura, the reason I originally wanted to go to San Japan (and now part of the team as a totally awesome long distance member); the lovely ladies of Smile.dk, as well as DJ Slash - not a lovely lady, but a very rad guy I was just as happy to meet; the other musical guests, DJ Jinnai and MAJA, who were super cool and I hope to run into them again; Proz, the con chair, who gave us free badges and was an all around rockin' guy; his staff and volunteers for putting on a fun show; and all the other guests and con staff in the greenroom who tolerated our crazy antics!

What most are probably interested in, finally are the new videos we put up from the convention: Doki Doki and Shanghai Rave (male version). The second song we taught at the panel is available from the Brazilian team SuperPara on Veoh: Celebrate Nite (Like It's '99 Mix). We will also be refilming the original dance to Dragonfly, as seen in the Smile.dk concert, and putting it up in the near future. I'm also currently capturing other footage from the con, including our performance and some random fun clips, so those will go up once I get a chance to edit them, most likely after AnimeFest.

Animix aftermath

First of all, I'd like to thank anyone stopping by our website from Animix this past weekend in Killeen. We had a great time dancing for you guys, and if you have any other questions about parapara or the site, please email us or comment here! We love it when people are interested.

The song we taught at the panel on Friday was "Fightin' Over Freedom" by Ace, and if you want to practice it there is a video online, not on our website (yet!) but by some friends in Brazil: http://www.veoh.com/videos/v4030866BH7nFxWm (this is the same video we used for the projector in the background). Maybe some of you who were too shy to come up front and try it out with us at the panel will be able to try it at home now!

EKS-D would also like to sincerely thank Keita for inviting us, as well as all of her wonderful volunteers who were so friendly and helpful during the weekend. Thank you guys for working hard to put on the convention, despite the hardships they encountered (freezing panel rooms and baking hallways, anyone? ^_~) Best of luck to you all for putting on next year's Animix!

New videos posted

Just a note to say that I've put up four new videos: NRG, Poison, Spiderman and Rocket Man, all from our A-kon events. For those of you who have come across the site after participating in our panel or A-kon Icon, these can help refresh your memory so you don't forget what you learned!

I don't know if anyone got nice footage of the team's performances at the cosplay, but I have a shaky still-camera's video mode clip of the opening performance from the Maeken Trance Project video. Those who saw the cosplay from their TVs missed the dancers, as the footage on the projector screen was just the music video, so although the quality is rather low, I'll try to get that up ASAP.
