Newbie here

Well, where do I begin? I've been fascinated by Egypt since I was a child. I used to fantisise about going to Egypt on an archaeological dig and finding some nomadic tribe that followed the old gods.

In my teens I got into wicca. To be honest I was more into what I guess you'd call the occult side than the religious side. I love Magick and all things connected to it. I just got a bit miffed at following the god and goddess when I didn't really connect with the lore behind the faith.

I'm currently signed up for the Kemetic Orthodox beginners class to expand my horizons. I love learning new things and meeting new people on the forum but still not sure whether I agree with them 100%. I still cling to my polytheistic beliefs. I also keep swaying back to wicca. My current interest is in dragon magick.

To sum it up I'm 70% Kemetic 30% Wicca.....100% me! Please to meet you all

Is there anyone in the northern NJ area here?

I have recently been called to deepen my bonds with Isis (there's a story there, which I'll share if interested) and I would love to have someone to talk to and learn with (either someone already on a similar path or someone starting out to study/grow with). Right now, I'm depending on books alone and I'd love some interaction with others of a like mind!

I'm interested in finding a legitimate spellcaster, and I was wondering what people thought about Aisha Haadi. There's a lot of negative comments about her on other sites, yet she apparently exposes other "frauds" and claims she's real. Has anyone ever used her? Any good/bad results? Also, does anyone know of any spellcasters that are trustworthy and effective?
Thanks!

Just saying hi for the 1st time

Hi, first and foremost I hope everyone had a good Imbolc, secondly I would like to apologise for cross posting, there are a lot of Wiccan and Witchcraft communities on here and I hadn’t realised.

I just wanted to introduce my self before going any further. I am a volunteer for a Witchcraft & Wicca organisation called ‘The Children of Artemis’ who run events in the UK called ‘Witchfest’ and the also produce an informative magazine twice a year called ‘Witchcraft & Wicca’.

I have literally just created an LJ account just so I can spread the word of this non-profit organisation and the other things they do, as they have done so much for me and my friends in the past 4 years, and their events I find have a wide taste range but are great fun and even I learn stuff.

Anyway getting to the point, I will generally just be posting about their events, any open rituals/gatherings/workshops they are doing and also any promo stuff they have going online, they have there own website/forum and shop etc…

If you think this is NOT acceptable information for your community and you do mind me posting, please let me know and I’ll leave the community. But feel free to add me as a friend for updates if your interested.

I promise to LJ cut my posts and give you as much information as possible and I’ll also try to reply to any questions I can answer.

I only just recently was finally able to set up my altar. It's been slow going, like every good altar, in collecting all the things I desire/feel would be good for it. I was perusing a few Internet sites for statuettes for my altar and have come across only rather expensive models. I like them, but I'm kind of strapped so I can't spend $100 per statue. Any suggestions for good Kemetic/Egyptian statues either in website form, brochure form or local (Massachusetts) shops...? (For informational purposes: my goddesses are Sekhmet and Ma'at.)

X-posted.

Hello to all!

I've come to an intellectual and spritual crossroads and would love to hear the opinions of those on this board.

I know this community is entitled "Egyptian Wicca" but are there those of you out there who practice Kemetic Orthodoxy? I am torn between wanting to be as faithful as is possible to the ancient practices but also wishing to honor the traditional Wiccan holidays.

Thoughts? Advice?

Many thanks in advance.

It's a day planner type calendar for 2007, with an interfaith theme (perfect for the ecclectic).

The calendar contains roughly 900+ feasts and holidays from nearly 30 different religions - these include Asatru, Kemetism, Gnosticism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Baha'i, Rastafari, Sikhism, Voudun, Paganism, Wicca, Shintoism, Celticism, Thiodisk Gelôbo, Taoism, Religio Romana, Canaanite & Slavic Religion, Judaism, Hellenismos, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Santeria, WoT Paganism, and Middle Eastern Paganism. ^^ All of them are explained, and there are plenty of other goodies thrown in.

You can find buy the day planner calendars here. :) Enjoy!

Hi all! I've been looking for another Egyptian/Pagan community since the other ones seem too quiet. My patron Goddess is Isis, but other than that, I don't really know too much as far as Egyptian Wicca goes. Definitely interested in learning!

Also, I have recently made some icons of this really beautiful Egyptian Tarot deck I own (I don't use them for divination, but I thought they were really neat to make icons out of. I hope you like/get some use out of them - and if this isn't allowed, mods, I'm sorry and I can certainly delete it!

Bright blessings!

Teasers:

0 The Fool
01 02 03

(52 icons, under the fake cut)

Hey everyone! This is my first post. I'm interested in Wicca, and lately I've been looking online at different sites that cast spells for you ( yes, i know most of them are not real) but one seemed more authentic then the rest, and i was wondering if anyone here has heard of it. Her name is Aisha, and she is an Egyptian witch. Her site seemed pretty legitimate, and i was wondering if anyone here has heard of her. Also, what do you guys think of those online spell casters in general? Are there any legitimate ones that you think work?

I wanted to post this story here, as it just occured moments ago, and will forever be near and dear to my heart..
I do hope you all enjoy. :)

Ive been a practicing Pagan since I was ten. It hasnt always been easy, and to be honest, there were times that I strayed to see if my direction towards it was true.. And always would I come back to it.
Now, I stay, for sure.
It took me these same many long years to find my deities of preferrence. Bast is the Goddess to whom I have always felt so strongly connected, and she's always shown me the strength of that connection in her own ways.
Pan is the God, and though he does play a less "active" role and shows through less often, I do still feel the presence. A definitive personality all his own, and stronger when I go out to the woods ( especially to explore new territory ) or immersing myself in music.

Bast is the one who came forth, tonight, in one of those small ways that I do treasure.

I have a cat.. He is three years old and his name is Seifer ( yes, Final Fantasy. Lol ). He is a beautiful grey being with so much mystery about him, an endless amount of energy ( and an amazing signature that goes with it ), and all the love one could ever ask for.
Were I to define a familiar in my own way, surely, he'de be mine.
He understands Bast in all the same ways that I do. He's stepped across my altar many a time, sniffed at her statue.. He even left his mark on her by accidently breaking off one of the statue's ears ( which, at the time I was mad at him for, but I find it cute now ). He is always around when I do my spellwork. There was even an accidental time in which he singged his bottom on a candle ( he sat down on it! Ouch ).

I recieved in the mail, today, a small glass vial necklace that Ide chosen to use as a charm for travel spells. I adore wearing necklaces and oils are always hard to carry in pocket vials, so I knew a necklace would be perfect.
My intentions were to add catnip to the charm. I asked to borrow one of Seifer's toys that he'de lost interest in long ago. It was a burlap catnip toy, but the scent was never strong enough to amuze him, so he rarely touched it. I cut it open and searched through it, intending to use some of the catnip inside.. All I found at first was stuffing.
My heart sank. I rubbed some of the stuffing into the floor for the catnip scent and tossed out the rest. Seifer, being the persistant one that he is, kept attempting to grab at the stuffing that went into the garbage. I retrieved it, after much begging from him, and let him have at it. Away he went, tearing and pawing, until he found that little pocket inside that I couldnt. Catnip everywhere!
I thanked him muchly and took a small bit, which scattering the rest about for his happy self. Ive never seen him so alive, and thanks to him, my charm came together nicely.

Even aside from the creation of the charm, I felt Bast's presence in the air tonight. I still do.. Its strong as she watches over us. :)

Prayer Request

I have a prayer request...

My town is currently being... well, "attacked" by local kids. It started a few days before Halloween - you know, toliet paper everywhere & egged my Pastor's house... not too bad... but then they stole one of my scarecrows and someone else's and put it in the graveyard. We got ours back. But then they wrote "dirty/vulgar" things on another local church's windows (Spirit is probably having a fit.) They also stole some of our card-board stand-up things from Halloween and my grandmom found one of them broken in our backyard. Street signs have been pulled up out of the ground & thrown a few blocks down. WE LIVE IN A "MIDDLE OF NOWHERE" TOWN, FAR AWAY FROM A CITY, AND WE LIVED PEACEFULLY... this is so STRANGE to us because of how quiet and homeful our town is. -shrug- It's a really old town, too, soo... please pray to whatever God and/or Goddess you believe in for the safety of my household/home/myself, the rest of the townsfolk and their homes, and for these kids to get it straight & stop terrorizing our town. Thank you. <3 LOVE TO YOU ALL.

x posted to my journal & ljprayerteam

ok i have a completely random, but i think relevent question for the community.

does the numbers 3 or 4 have any significant meaning in any of the magic(k) realms?

i am in need of a subject for a paper i have to write over Harry Potter and i noticed that there seems to be an emphasis on the number 3 in Goblet of Fire. so i thought i would come here and ask.

if you can in any way answer this question please do so, and if it is possible can you hit me with a reference or where you got it, please?

Thanks!

~Blessed Be
