Sekhmet was also a powerful goddess of healing and protection. She's not all bad and scary, and evolved into more than just another side of Hathor.

Can't wait to apply! I'll be doing so after I get back from the dentist.

sekmet

Bastet was also the goddess of fecundity, sex & sexuality, sensuality, perfumes, the color red, and festivities (drinking, belly-dancing)! Every year the temple of Bubastis would open and men and women would come and participate in these hedonistic rituals - fun, fun!

Nephthys
[info]muffinlips146
2007-12-23 07:23 pm UTC (link)
sister of Isis, Set, and Osirus, mother of Anubis
She was married to Set, but couldn't concieve with him so she disguised herself as her sister and slept with Osirus, bearing Anubis. She was worried that Set would harm the child and gave it to Isis to raise and protect. She didn't like the evil her husband was doing and worked with Isis (who had forgiven her for the infidelity) to undo the damage Anubis had caused. She helped Isis search for her husband after he was murdered. She is Nephthys to the greek, and Nebet Het to the Egyptians, which means Lady of the
House. Where Isis is the full moon, she is the dark moon, where Isis is magick, Nephthys is mystery. She is dependent on her sister, but stubbornly independent at the same time.

Although Nephthys is depicted almost as often as her sister little is known about what she officially presided over.

I just wanted to say that much of your information is incorrect, for example: Bast's name is not Bastet, but Bast. Bastet is a misnomer, as Her name means 'she who devours' and adding 'et' to the end makes it "she she who devours" which simply makes no sense.

If you'd like to read more information about the Egyptian deities, I suggest visiting the Kemetic Orthodox Church's website here.

I'm not trying to be a bitch, honest, it's just that momma Bast is my patroness and I like telling people about Her. :)
