AboutWe are two Girls in our twenties who are interested and have been dressing in Gothic & Lolita for several years now. As we are from different countries ourselves, we think it is important to bring Lolitas from all over the world together. We all have one similar hobby to talk about and maybe we even have many other things in common that can connect us, even if we are located in different countries and divided by our mother tongue.
EGL as a main base has grown so much now, that some might feel frightened to post something there, because of language barriers, as many members are native speakers or because it is such a tight-knit community or whatever. We want to bring together European Lolitas, because one visits other european countries more often than any other countries abroad and there are many events nowadays that concern europe as whole and we want to talk about such things here. We want to give all European Lolitas a forum where we can talk about our hobbies and arrange meet-ups, maybe Europe really can draw nearer.
We chose English as our main forum language and we would like everyone to talk English here, so nobody feels ostracized, because he/she can't understand someones mother tongue, but we understand that not everyone can speak it fluently, as we are not native speakers ourselves. But we want everyone to do his best at it, as we do.
Please read the rules before you post! I know this is a phrase everyone ignores most of the time, but it might make things easier for everyone. Thank you!
Those are the Community Rules, based on EGL's rules with a few alterations:
1.Please keep all posts on topic. Keep posts relevant to the topic of Gothic and Lolita fashion. This includes
all sales. Please read the FAQ and check the memories before you ask a question, you may find others have asked it before. In addition to the memories, you may also want to check out lolita_handbook to answer any other questions you might still have.
2.Please be courteous to other members.
Be polite in offering constructive criticism and respect the wishes of those who ask for constructive criticism. Please do not post about any off-site drama, inflammatory off topic ranting, or moderation issues. If the latter arises, please contact a moderator directly. In addition, posts containing nudity or obscenities will be deleted without warning.
3.Please keep all posts in english language, even the comments should be made in english. And please be courteous with other members, when their english is not very good. But please don't take this as allowance for illegible posts because of your laziness!
4.Images larger than 400x400 pixels must be placed under a cut, and please, no hotlinking! Please place all larger images, and any image after the first, behind a lj cut. Images, including artwork, should be of good visual quality. Images should not be hotlinked.
5.Explicit content posts must be placed completely under a cut and bear a "NSFW/18+" disclaimer above the cut. Images and content cannot contain minors in suggestive positions or in any state of undress. The moderators of this community withhold the right to delete, without warning, any post they find inappropriate.
6.Please do not advertise other communities without mod approval. For approval please contact one of the mods with a description and link of your community.
Additionally, moderators reserve the right to delete any post they deem inappropriate, even if it's not addressed in the rules. Please mail one of the Administrators should you have any questions or problems about post deletion. Administrators will give warning and ban members when necessary.

I'm in my early twenties and a student of art history & archaeology. I am a follower and admirer of Lolita fashion for quite a few years now and I am very interested in fashion, history of fashion and history in general. When I am not studying, I waste my time in front of my PC, listening to music and exploring the world wide web. I like meetups a lot and I hope egl_europe will help bringing together Lolitas from europe, because I love to meet new people and chat with them about any topic.

Recently I decided to leave the Lolita style and move on to NeoGothic (like Black Peace Now, Atelier BOZ and Stigmata). This doesn't actually keep me from helping any new Lolita out as I still love the style and your cutesy faces. ^^'
I love love love going to (all kinds of) Metal concerts, listening to music and meeting new people. I also have an unhealthy relationship with my computer and I collect Living Dead Dolls and BeGoths.
