I seriously am in love with Brandeis University. I wish I would have heard about it before high school was over so I could spend four years there. I want to transfer there soooo badly. Lately life has kinda sucked and Brandeis is the one shining beacon of hope. Brandeis is the reason I get in the morning. Brandeis is the resoan I keep my grades up. Brandeis is why I'm so anxious to participate in all the extra-curriculars I'm jamming into my already tight schedule. I will go to Brandeis, I will.
Why do I love Brandeis? Well, I've been looking at it for a few weeks now after discovering it via a search for schools around Concord, Massachusettes. It has strong biochemistry, neuroscience, economics, comparative literature, and linguistics programs and they allow double majors with multiple minors, even triple majors. Since I have such a hard time making up my mind, it's definately a plus. The campus is beautiful and it's almost equidistance to Concord and Boston. I've been thoughtfully considering Brandeis for a while now, and an event tonight sent me over the edge. I was doing a couple of searches about Brandeis and clicked on a link to a program on the official BrandeisU site. Well the page was long gone, but the page did not mearely say "the page you are trying to reach does not exist". Oh no! It said, "These are not the web pages you're looking for." Stars Wars references are a definate slam dunk for me. There is no longer any question, Brandeis owns my heart.
In Japanese class we all drew anime. I felt weird for some reason... I dunno why... so I was working on mine, and many people came to me saying mine is really good (there was even one girl who said I was the reason for her to stop drawing; she felt as if I was superior. I lol'd).
Sensei said it was "beautiful." Gah. She even mentioned a manga contest that is statewide... but it must be entirely in Japanese. I could draw it all, but I need a good translator for it all... I don't have many details on it.. that's all sensei said.
And what. I am now catching up in Code Geass (I watched the first season a long while ago but for some reason I gave it up... I am unsure why. So I went back to it and now I got my fandom back for it. hahah).
So I guess everything's a-ok. For now. c:
Also, Maka's and Soul's Character Song (refer to the "Music" section of this journal entry) isn't so bad. As well at the mix. <3 "PSYCHEDELIC SOULJAM" is also very good too *-* weeee~
...now I feel the urge to eat some pizza. Pizza rolls will do nicely as a subsitute~ lalala~ *skips off*

I really wish that it was raining right now. Seriously, I can't remember the last time that it rained and I really love cold, gloomy weather; which is actually kind of a funny fact about me since I'm such a chipper person. Haha... xD Anyways, more about how wonderful it is when it rains here... My father loves roses and he plants them everywhere so whenever I look outside my window when it's raining I always see these pretty, wet roses. It's so gorgeous. :-)
In other news, today is Friday and there's no school on Monday! :D I think I'm gonna have a movie party...

As many of us here understand the very stressful time known as college application hell, this article is good way to ask ourselves "What is the value of an elite education?"
There is nothing wrong with taking pride in one’s intellect or knowledge. There is something wrong with the smugness and self-congratulation that elite schools connive at from the moment the fat envelopes come in the mail. From orientation to graduation, themessage is implicit in every tone of voice and tilt of the head, every old-school tradition, every article in the student paper, every speech from the dean. The message is: You have arrived. Welcome to the club. And the corollary is equally clear: You deserve everything your presence here is going to enable you to get. When people say that students at elite schools have a strong sense of entitlement, they mean that those students think they deserve more than other people because their sat scores are higher. http://www.theamericanscholar.org/su08/elite-deresiewicz.html

I've had this on my computer for quite some time, but I haven't been able to come up with a background that I like, so I think I might just give it up...
After the obligatory technical trouble (this time with Lanjelin's computer/TV) we finally sat down to watch the newest episodes of our favorite series. Only to discover that the good and fast fansub group for Slayers had gotten a C&D *woe* But the other group was also pretty decent - much better at making their text readable, in fact - so we could see up to episode seven. Where we are introduced to Zuuma who is one hot badass assasin. And then in the preview for the next ep they tease us with Xellos *eek*
D.Gray-Man had some really good episodes this time, with a nice comedyfilled post-battle ep to start with and then a whole bunch of dramatic and increasingly angsty events. I'm starting to understand why Cross doesn't like the Black Order much (and here I thought he just hated Komui). And poor Linali ;_; I hope she gets a kickass power upgrade without too much pain soon
So, one series which had an okay filler and introduced a exciting new baddie and one series which went from pure sunny awesome to gutwrenching horror in five episodes! Not bad, not bad at all!
"NEW YORK—The smile, a facial expression traditionally used to convey joy, pleasure, or amusement, is now mainly used to suppress rage, according to a five-year study released Monday by the Countenance Institute. "More than 85 percent of smiles are involuntary responses to mounting anger," the study read in part. "In addition, the length and intensity of these smiles directly correspond to the amount of anger the smile is concealing. A smile that lasts less than two seconds represents just a passing annoyance, while a smile of four to eight seconds indicates a genuine hatred for its target." The study noted that individuals smiling for more than one minute while nodding and baring their teeth are most likely preparing to kill the person they are smiling at."
