Current mood: anxious

Hello everybody! I wanted to ask you all intelligent creatures from Lolita religion, which is the best service for shopping from YahooJapan? I´ve seen something I really want to buy and I know Crescent shop is good but I have a lot of problems with customs fees here in Spain and they wont mark it as low priced or gift. I´m also open to anybody from Japan who offers to do the service, will pay the taxes aswell. Thanks!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ANSWERS, VERY HELPFUL!!!

I can tell you that I had a ridiculous 2 month experience with Shopping Mall Japan over one item, and it ended up costing twice what it would have through Crescent Shop or Celga, so I do not recomment SMJ.

Really?! I'm kinda surprised. I've never had any problems with them and they've always been helpful. Plus shipping through them has always been really cheap... Expect for when I had a table shipped to me. Hehe.

Yeah, I'd heard so many good things about them, I was really surprised too. That was another funny thing, I heard they were very helpful but I was dealing with one guy who was very rude and took 2-3 weeks to reply to any e-mail, let alone a week to send me the 'you have won this auction' notification. And it was a 'buy it now'.

It sounds like it was a lemon experience *shrug* but it was very frustrating.

I haven't recieved any items yet so don't hold me to it yet but moj - http://www.mailorderjapan.com/yahoo-auction-japan/ (also do non y!japan shopping service)

They're very helpful and friendly, their fees are same if not slightly lower than celgas ($10 for 3-10000 yen then $1 more for every 1000 yen) and i've only heard good things about them

they also have the added bonus of an automatic bidding system, so you can catch those last minuite deals, but as yahoo changed something recently it hasn't been working these last couple of days. They assure me they're doing all they can to fix it though and put a bid for me through email no problems

Their fee's aren't lower than celga for shop orders, just FYI. I used them once since they'd call the place to locate an item and Celga was being anal and said they wouldn't "we don't do that type of thing" so I went to them, and the fee was pretty high, I think higher than crescent.

Celga:
Up to 1,000 yen $5
1,001 to 10,000 yen $10
10,001 to 20,000 yen $20
20,001 to 30,000 yen $30
30,001 to 40,000 yen $40
40,001 to 50,000 yen $50

MOJ:
If the final bid price is for your item is Yen 2999 or less, then the base commission is $6.
If the bid final bid price is Yen 3,000 to Yen 10,000, then the base service fee is $10. For each additional Yen 1,000, there is a fee of $1.

so from 1,001 - 2999 they're cheaper ($6 over $10) and from 11,000 - 49,000 they're cheaper (i.e 24,000 is $24 over celgas $30)

maybe they changed it. Or maybe you're getting confused with the similar sounding shopping mall japan - an easy mistake

Yeah, you said they were cheaper for shop orders too, but since I used them for that, I know that isn't true. In fact my order ended up costing me more than I thought. :/ They charge 15% per item on shop orders. So for 40,000 yen it's 6,000 yen for the fee and using Celga's current conversion rate (108) that's 56$, 16$ more than Celga. And I'd swear they charge more for shipping too.

ahh i said (or meant to say)

Y!japan auctions are the same (or cheaper) than celga. full stop they also do shop orders.

I have only used them for auctions so i didn't know their other fees. Now i know :)

Ok, I take that back, you didn't say that, sorry for my assumption, I just assumed you meant in general. But that doesn't change their shipping sucks too. :(

I use Celga, they always mark down the price and send it as a gift (or will put something like 20$ value used clothing on the label for an expensive dress that still had it's tags), so I've never been hit with customs when ordering from them! ^_^

I, too, can vouch for Celga! I haven't had my order shipped to me yet (because it hasn't come in) but they've so far won me 2 auctions and their communication and business dealings have been stellar so far. Also, their fees and whatnot are very very reasonable :)

And if so, is it useful.

There is Celga and Rinkya, both have worked quite well for me.
However, it's still pretty pricey to go through a shopping service so I try to avoid it and ask friends in Japan instead XD

I really love Crescent and recommend using them. As for Celga, they are very responsive and are friendly as well. I just think they're a bit slow.

Rinkya I highly recommend not using. You end up paying twice the amount of the item's end price. Though, they do mark down as gift when they send your items.

I use Celga now.

I tried Crescent, they lied to me, so I won't use them again, even if they are fast. Their shop prices are higher too.

I used Mail Order Japan for a shop order, they are good to use if you want them to call some place to locate an item since Celga won't. Their fees are between Crescent and Celga, a bit higher than Celga, but not as bad as Crescent.

Rinkya has the lowest shop order fees (non auctions) from what I have found. 40$ for over 50,000 yen. I haven't used them yet, but I may try them next time I buy from AP (and I need to find that twinkle mermaid dress before I buy anything else, UGH). I hear their auction fees are pretty high though but they have sales occasionally (these sales don't apply to shop orders though).
