Difficulties with site/logging in?

Due to some changes in board configuration,users who have selected "log me in automatically each visit" when logging in to the forum may experience difficulties logging in. Clearing any cookies issued bygirl-wonder.org with the /forums/ path will resolve this.

Firefox: Tools --> Options --> Privacy --> Show Cookies --> "Search": girl-wonder -->remove

Internet Explorer:
To delete all cookies (simplest, will log you out of all yourwebsites): Tools --> Internet Options --> Browsing History:Delete --> Cookies: Delete Cookies --> Yes.
To delete only cookies issued by girl-wonder: Tools --> InternetOptions --> Browsing History: Settings --> View Files -->Manually delete objects with "cookie:owner@girl-wonder.org"

Opera:
Ctrl + F12 --> Advanced --> Cookies --> Manage Cookies --> Girl-Wonder.org --> delete all forum cookies.

If you can add to this, please help!

Any residual wonkiness you notice when visiting either Girls Read Comics or Take Back the Knight can be alleviated by deleting your browser's cookies, or simply the cookie "phpsessid"

Everything appears stable except Take Back the Knight and Girls Read Comics which have developed some bizarre errors that I'm working to straighten out. The lj feeds for these are probably spamming you as a result, I'm very sorry.

If you previously had ftp access, and I don't contact you with new passwords soon, feel free to chase after me.

Girl-wonder has switched to new hosting. This should be notable mainly on the boards, which aren't up yet on the new host. However, if you notice any other problems or bugs, please let me know in this post and I'll address them.

Due to poor communication with our webhost, and a sudden burst of popularity, girl-wonder has exceeded our bandwidth and been cut off. We are working to rectify this situation as quickly as possible, and will keep this list updated.

ETA: We've negotiated bandwidth to the end of the month with our host, and are working on a new hosting solution for the longer term.

We want to swamp DC with letters, and this project is going live on the 20th, so if you haven't got a letter written and waiting to be mailed, now is the time to begin. All the information you need to write a letter is here, but I'm reproducing it:

The most important thing is to write to DC Comics and let them know that you support Project Girl Wonder. A basic template for a letter would be along these lines:

Okay, so 4chan came to play at GRC. I turned off comments, so hopefully in a week or so they'll get bored without the OMG FAMOUS THREAD!! to hold their idiocy for posterity.

I intend to keep writing the column, of course. It's a shame I can't get real feedback.

They may spill into the forums. I don't know what the best course of action might be then, but I think perhaps making it impossible for people to post without registering would be a hindrance?

Ah, comics fandom. Clearly, feminism's battles have already been won!

Having now seen some of the promotional art created for the launch, I'm twice as anxious to get the message as widespread as possible. Advertising seems the best way to do this.

I can cover a small print run of postcards, posters and fliers out of my own pocket ('s why I have a day job), but what I'd really love is if a half-page advert in Bitch magazine became viable.

The pricing scale is here and, well, that's a fairly high mark to try to hit. How could we go about raising money, with this goal in mind?

The other option would be if someone were to write an article and submit it. This is a base I'd really like to target, and an article wouldn't involve an advertising outlay. The spokesperson team are all more than willing to give interviews if you're interested in beefing up your journalistic credentials. The guidelines for submission are here.

brown_betty is doing an amazing job working on the press release for Girl-Wonder.org, and we are soon going to need websites on which to promote it.

This is where you lovely people come in.

Our goal is to hit as many websites as possible, including blogs. To accomplish this we first need a list of sites that could, should be interested in Girl-Wonder.org. These need to be sites, or blogs, which would consider our pimping Girl-Wonder.org on-topic, OR sites you are personally involved in and you know wouldn't mind the off-topic announcement.

We're open to suggestions, or rather, we are asking for suggestions. If you know you could inform a website or a blog, tell us. We're compiling a list so we don't spam websites with multiple announcements. This is important, we want them to like us. ;)

Please, if you could take care of one or more websites, tell us. We'll put you down as quote unquote assigned to said websites, and no one else will bother them.

Start brainstorming, peeps, and help us come up with the most comprehensive collection of websites possible!

I've made a basic archive for collecting commentary and criticism created in reaction to dumbassery here (the site will have its own subdomain in a few hours, when the DNS updates). As you can see, it's very Spartan at the moment.

It would be extremely excellent if someone or someones were to stick their hand up and volunteer to run this project -- give it a better layout, collect the content, and maintain it. Please nominate yourself if you're interested.

Also, a reminder that the forums can always do with more traffic. The domain's official launch will be very soon, with any luck, and updates will be posted here regarding the send-off date for the first wave of letters to DC.

Thanks to some excellent networking by our own Karen (karenhealey), Girl-Wonder.org is now the home of Wonder Woman: Lesbian or Dyke? Paradise Island as a Woman's Community, by the ever-fabulous and justifiably renowned Trina Robbins, which can be seen and enjoyed here.

This is a fantastic coup for the domain, and everyone should applaud Karen for her work.

I'm also going to be archiving heykidzcomix's response-to-asshattery, and hope to have other articulate rants of its kind, from lots of writers, to house with it in future. Anybody have any suggestions what a site for them should be called?
