Too quick I use it too quick, even when I'm busy. I either gotta pay to upgrade or else stay the heck off. If I had to prioritize whats most useful, like what expands my mind and makes my happy, it's anime... so that should go above chatting. I managed to find Rondo, a different group had partnered with Static. Looking forward to 4 like I am to Higurashi's 3.
I was sitting in a chair one day and had my legs crossed and this lady asked me "does that hurt?" I was pretty confused and thought she meant a spinal imbalance or something. I told her that I crossed the other leg on top about as often to keep the spine neutral, and that in terms of flexibility I was comfortable with external hip rotation.
Then she mentioned 'squishing' and a lightbulb went on. I told her that no, that if that were to happen I would simply adjust until it didn't. Were my pants really tight or something? Like I don't get it, because it's not like it was a thigh-on-thigh cross, it was like, when you put your ankle on top of the thigh, the legs are rather abducted, there really is a lot of room to breath. Indeed, when I adduct them in more and do thigh-on-thigh it does indeed squish. That's not bad if you do it slowly though, in fact I think it increases pliability.
The vigorous moments I spend prone on the floor exercising may have something to do with it. When you do back extensions and stuff it does tend to compress that area more, often with pleasing results. |

Duuuuuuuuude. Albert and I went to Towson and got a blacklight (amongst other things) intending to use it in the ACM to see if it's really possible to see the floor glow... we just turned it on in our room and went WHOA. There's tons and tons of cotton lint on our floor and it's like a starfield down there, so cool! And shining it over the room gets amazing random pop-out purple from the white stuff (clothes/underwear, paper, etc.) and we both have lots of invisible lint on us and it's PRETTY duuuuuuuuude...
Funny Albert quotes: ~ (re: lint) Why get those glow-in-the-dark stickers when you can have lint! (Me: Well, lint and a blacklight.) ~ My tighty-whiteys are now purple! Or blue... magenta... whatever. ~ The white things glow purple, but the orange stickers glow orange! *pause* We need to get more orange stickers.
He is now flipping things over and scanning them with the blacklight to see what happens... then he tosses them over his shoulder and grabs the next thing within arms reach and repeats the process. XD
[/easily amused]
Edit: Aww, only paper and cotton and orange price stickers show up. Sadface. We're going to see if there's another kind of bulb that'll show us the interesting things. :D
Edit: Aagh it's 3 I need to get to sleep
Albert and I were brushing our teeth in the bathroom - or rather I was brushing and he was getting his brush wet, and he mimed brushing my neck for whatever strange reason (it's stupid o'clock) Me: "Aagh, you got my boobs wet D:" Him: "I was just watering them!" Me: "... so they would grow??!!" *veinpop*
Also, his ribs mimic muscle structure if you look at them in the mirror at a certain angle. (Me: You can play them like a xylophone!) |

On the way home to collect Albert for lunch, I saw a family all dressed up going down University Parkway - the oldest son (presumably) was about college age, dressed in a suit, and was holding a bouquet of flowers. It was such a pretty scene. But what caught my eye were the two youngest kids, a ~5 year old blonde girl in a pink dress and a ~8 year old boy in untucked blue shirt and pants; the boy was holding the girl's hand and walking somewhat fast, and the two of them were trailing behind the rest. And it occurred to me that I had very little idea about what their lives were really like, at that age - I came (back) to this country as a young adult, and so now I relate more to people my age and older, kinda. The nuances of being-a-kid here aren't really present, in my mind.
And then I looked down at the sidewalk under my feet and it suddenly hit me that I am not standing on Taiwan ground. It was like a sense of vertigo - holy shit, I'm standing on an entirely separate continent. It was almost like discovering I was standing on a cloud.
Yeah, it took me this long to finally realize it. Go figure. |

When tail-vein-injecting nude mice (covering for James-the-vet-tech who's out to a conference for the rest of the week), I'm absolutely terrified of Doing It Wrong and ruining the skin, or causing blood-blockage/gangrene in the tail and having to snip it off, or accidentally killing the mouse... but as much for the sake of the experimental results as for the mouse's sake. Er. (My advisor keeps impressing on me that This Is An Extremely Important Experiment. James explained to me - it may affect whether or not the lab gets grant funding. Meep.)
Also, I haven't done this for 2 months. Jeebus. Thank Elbereth my actual project is supposed to involve working with cells.
Also, it suddenly occurs to me to ask the Alchemy prof if the paper is due the day after tomorrow or next week. Kind of important to know. (I've been operating on the assumption that it's the day after tomorrow... and I have 2 pages out of a 5~7 page paper, and very little on what I've written so far is actually about my ostensible topic.)
It's getting cold.
Today was a day of things falling in and out of place. I feel like this year is definitely qualitatively different from the previous two years. Guess this is what comes of having all the rest of my my-year friends also living in apartments (at last...)
I should go to sleep. Guh, I need to tail-vein-inject for the next three days, too... I hope I haven't ruined any tails. Kind of really want to steal a mousy from the animal holding area... they have like billions of extra cages, it's not like they're likely to miss one... problem is theoretically, all the mice need to be accounted for... Mou. Mousy babies... Then again, most of them are pretty vicious. (Albeit due to provocation...)

Messing with a noob in #jhuacm. Much fun.
These last couple of days have seen Arthur+Yoonah/Wes/Venk in our living room pretty much every night. Kind of funny, actually... again, "I'm living my college life in reverse", and also I'm hanging out so much with these people that are... huh.
I mean, shouldn't I be hanging out with 同年同學? Guess not, from the way my social life is turning out...
I should totally be productive.
Venk: "Instead of typing out 'Trisk', I started to type 'Thread.Join'..." Me: *boggles* Albert: "It happens more often than you think." |

It's not going away... Bloody head bulge thingy, I can feel it like a worm or something in there. It's the kind of thing that you'd almost think is alive except on antibiotics a bacterial infection would go away, not appear... so is it something that bacteria were keeping at bay which now grows unchecked? CANCER? I fucking don't know, lol. I should ice that bitch. I have this growing fantasy about jabbing a boiled needle in there to see what comes out, how gruesome. I feel more like Stein-kun every day... speaking of which SHINIGAMI CHOPPU! Medusa+Stein is such mega-love... and smiley tying up Zaraki to prevent a Byakuya duel early on is also interestin'.
But anyway, Futatsu no Kishi... WAY FUCKING SAD. The neat thing about this anime is its packed full of fan service, but still gets you twinged. The first and second had a different nature, the first had a leading camera type approach, always having things offscreen slightly, it was very creative. The second didn't do that, but had more blatent stuff like sailor fuku and catgirl stuff. The only thing is it kept foreshadowing them. In fact, the fuku was shown on season 1 opening but didn't show up until 2, and the cat kept being shown before she even cosplayed/fursuited one. Which makes me think, what era was the first Gandalfr from anyway? Did it have catgirls back then? I'd assumed it was WW2 but maybe it was later...
Speaking of which, mega harry potter reference at first, though less over time... and I guess LotR, especially with a mega-elf chick showing up to save the two heroes from doom. I had thought it would get really fucked up like it was the ring who brought them back but it seems another (creature?) has the power over life and death... unless that's an illusion shown by a more creative female master of the ring versus stupid curly count dude who sucked and wasn't creative with his messing with males...
That would actually be a really fucked up twist, it'd be two horrible if those two were under the thumb of Albion... speaking of which, why is it called Albion again? Didn't it get renamed? Did that change because the group was wiped out? Who does that lady work for? I must see Princess no Rondo! But... Ayu!!! |

Painme Or panime... either way the vowel order can't be maintained for a portmanteauh, eh well.
So like, there's a bus strike and I was running home but I tripped on something, I think I know where because there's a hole in the sidewalk. So anyway, I got 3 or 4 holes on my left back of hand (it's basically 3, but technically 1 has this separate sort of part which is like 4) and I stopped at a restaurant on the way home to wash it. I could have stopped earlier but it wasn't a chain restaurant, felt too privately owned or family type so I felt strange thinking of going in, but a chain is less personal and more inviting that way. I felt guilty hogging the bathroom's hot water and air so I had a chicken wrap.
I want to try their junoir burger combo for the same price... and overall, it is high time I went back to that place. I've changed so much since the past incident after all. Plus in her recent commercials she is so... charming! haha.
But anyway, the damn thing got infected. So I have to take an antibiotics regime now. It makes me feel weird. I had a cream upgrade too. I had also torn my elbow which dries better since I don't wash it as much as my hands. But after my shower last night (I had been avoiding showering since I wanted the elbow scab to dry out) it was gooey and when I was rubbing the cream in there a bunch of bloody puss came out of it, it was really gross. After a good's night sleep it dried out again, this time much flatter so I think it may have been a good thing, like I cleaned out some waste or something. It wasn't really bloody blood so I think it was somewhat wastey and needed to get out of there. Painful and stuff but bearable.
Preceded by an Hdoujin it was coincidentally mentioend to me the 'Zero' title which I'm watching now. During the 'downtime' (cam chatrooms take way too much bandwidth! I owe money!) I watched 'Magikano' and 'Ichigo Mashimaro' which were both very good anime, though Ichigo certainly had the edge due to... well... so I finally know where that one scene where pigtails is chased around the table is from, finally. I certainly really like the older sister though, I feel like I can relate to her and stuff :) Even though she's a girl...
Tried to get into X and Pretear but they did not have the correct feel. Catching up in Naruto is cool, seems less new Bleach due to a schedule change and no doubles. Asumaaaaa!!! No... so I need to take Judo or something for an excuse to learn japanese. I would feel like if I say I learned it just for liking anime it'd be weird but if I took a martial art and said something like "oh, it seemed interesting when I was learning it for this martial art" it'd be way cooler! Except nowhere here teaches Judo... I wonder if Kendo is japanese sword and fencing is french sword, if Judo is japanese martial art (better than Aikido right?) then would Savate be the closest french? TKD is korean and Karate is Okinawan, and Kung Fu is chinese... I can't forget the russian sambo or the greek wrestling or others either... |

It occurs to me that maybe my body is really, really confused because of my lack-of-sleep schedule. It probably doesn't even know what time it is, much less the day/week/month.
I should be productive. And stop playing Okami. |

What's up with quiet guys and one-liner deadpan humor?? Mark did one at me earlier and was baffled when I laughed as hard as I did...

Sleepiness, sore throat, and early-morning exam notwithstanding, today has been a Very Good Day. A Day Full Of People. From the going-to-school-blob in the morning (the contents of the PMLO apartment + me + Allie) to randomly running into Jonathan for lunch (and talking for an hour and a half straight about anything from ACM/physics club frat-like cliquery to the state of China/Taiwan relations to Jon's current studies in French something or other and the massive amounts of reading he has to do to how badass it would be to be an alchemist for a career) to randomly running into Some Black Dude I Met The One Time I Went To Anime Club Last Semester (he looked like shit, heh. We were in StuHellth and he started talking to me and I'm like, wait what? And so we talked about anime and class studies and how he totally goofed off all freshman year) to randomly running into Patrick O'Driscoll on my way out of StuHellth (he was all dressed up really, really nice - he'd just finished giving a presentation about his summer research. We discussed/made fun of his tie for a while - I characterized it as looking like someone took a professor's blackboard, folded it up, and made it into a tie.)
See, I like talking to people by randomly running into them. The problem is, it doesn't happen very often. I don't mind if people call, but I hate calling people. I like talking face to face and being able to hop around and gesture and flail at them till they get what I'm going at... and it's just... I dunno, like talking online or talking through the phone is much more limiting than face-to-face talk. Though I prefer the first of that if nothing else.

The prof for Modern Alchemy is insaaaaaane. In, like, the totally coolest way. He walked into class with a cartful of boxes and spun a story about Travis (the TA, who the prof keeps picking on/holding up/putting on the hook for all sorts of hilarious things) wandering into a Fells Point warehouse and finding a couple of unmarked boxes and bringing them into the class (someone: "Wait, is this something illegal??") and he opens them and... they're full of t-shirts. With the name and number of the class on them. And then he said if people wore them to some sports game (D3? He's amazingly on top of intercollegiate sports things, keeps making shout-outs to them and ribbing the frat guys about it and all) and took a picture of themselves wearing the shirt with the head coach, it would be extra credit. XD;;
---
The woman I talked to at StuHellth was old and very sleepy from having stayed up last night for a birthing. o_o;; Talking to her made me very sleepy, heh... she kept rambling and losing her train of thought and apologizing for being so out of it and going "Have I confused you enough yet?" XD But I might have a solution to my problem, and even a way to regulate it...

I have 1,257 Deviations accumulated from the last time I bothered to, well, bother with my DevArt account. Oops.

Stuffthings. Poor Shamisen. It's now broken and glued back together again... Albert has moved on to tinkering with the second PS2 that's finally arrived (he bought it around the same time he bought the first one, but this one somehow didn't get delivered so it went across the country, back, and across again...) |

Went to StuHellth yesterday. Woke up this mornining with a sore throat.
Oh, the irony.
Fell asleep in class, too. At least it was English and not Animal Cog. (Sorry, I really do like the English class and the prof is practically still a grad student, but after having taken various Writing Sems classes a 100 level English class is just, heh.)
Blaaaaaaaar.
OTOH, my National Geographic subscription came in. Now I'm doubly behind - haven't been reading the Science mags and now two NG mags too. Heh. MUST PASS ANIMAL COG FIRST. And then read up on tissue cultures. And there's the Alchemy paper, too. And throughout all this I'm really going to want to keep playing Okami. ARGH. |
