| LOL, today I watched up the Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny fan disc "Seed Supernova[ist]". There as a misleading intro that included DeaYza (my Seed/Destiny OTP) with big ghey roses, but sadly the HAWT FRIENDSHIP was lacking (hey, one of the official mags/guidebooks called their relationship "HOT FRIENDSHIP"). Anyway, this special was really speshul. In that it was chockful of crack. Funny crack. And I don't mean Shinn's crack showing in Lacus' Junius 7 concert dress LOL.There were 2 Seed Club specials: "Tanekyara Gekijou" which were all animated/drawn in the Seed Club chibi style X3 In the first ep, Shinn, Rey and Luna are sent by Dullandal to destroy Athrun and Kira's bond with the gifting of Torii (annoying mechanical bird Athrun made). Shinn-tachi are maed of FAIL. Kira turns Athrun on by shedding tears of MANLY LOVE. Gheyness abounds. And I swear, I haven't heard Ishida Akira act that genki since Slayers Next/Try! This gives me hope that he will appear in Slayers Revolution as Genki!Xelloss :DDD In the second episode, Shinn-tachi are sent to stop Lacus and Kira's love from madly blooming. (OMG I HAS A VK PUN LOL.) Shinn steals Lacus' dress, and the SUPER-GHEY-GUNDAM gene, entices him to put on said dress, while the ghost of CHARGING MAI REY ZA BURRELL gives him pills to sound like Lacus. He starts singing Quiet Night C.E. 73 with MOAR GENKI and swords @_@ Kira feels the ghey. Poor Lacus. Tanaka Rie is amazing in this btw, it's hilarious seeing her shift from Lacus' formal cadences - she uses "watakushi" and ends with "desu wa" a lot - to Shinn's rude manliness. He is an ORE user. The highlight is the end when Shinn's spirit rises up from his body and says "Watashi wa Lacus, Lacus ga ii!" <-parody of Meer Campbell's words to Athrun in Seed/Destiny. One of my favourite lines btw. I LOL'D XD Then WWS (World Wide Seed), in which they were analyzing SEED in different languages. It was hilarious how they LOL'D over "Athrun CHA-RA" and "Patrick CHA-RA" in the Korean version (they explained how phonetically there was no "Za" sound...) Then they moved on to the French version, in which everyone sounded sexay. They showcased Kira x Lacus and Mwu x Murrue then... urmmm Yzak and his MOM LOLOLOLOL. (Narrator: "Even the love between mother and son sounds romantic!" XDDD) I totally failed catching the French in these scenes btw, I ended up relying on reading the Japanese subtitles XD The best was when they were trying to teach fans English using the English dub. As the english words floated across the screen, a karaoke colour would indicate when to say them. The first two examples were pretty simple, then suddenly the narrator shifted to saying something along the lines of "If you have trouble with English and want to give up, remember these words..." THEY SHOWED ONE OF THE SCENES OF KIRA PROGRAMMING THE STRIKE XDDD It was funny b/c it was all this technical jargon being said at lightning fast speed. OMG, it was too funny XDDD On Thurs. I ran into a buddy, who told me about a new anime/model shop that had opened in the downtown core. I had previously gone to their store (several times LOL) at Pacific Mall. Anyway, they had CLAMP In 3D Land Series 6, which featured Kurogane (among the other characters), so my buddy (who knows the owner) asked him to let us open the blind packages until we found Kurogane for me. He only charged my friend for 2 figures. One he kept for himself, and the Kurogane he gave to me X3 (Hey, he's my go-to guy I usually dump my collection on, when I no longer want stuff, so it's nice to get some payback once in a while, LOL). Anyway, now that I have Kuro-tan, I NAO NEED FAY from Series 5. And must I say it is a very hott Fay. So I ended up buying a complete set on Ebay. While it isn't so cheap, at least I won't have to go thru packaging if that store gets Series 5 in. (They said they were expecting it in 2 weeks). I hate blind packaging... *Has wasted too much monies on gashapons @_@* The same buddy has also informed me that in addition to the Slayers Revolution series (I want to start watching), Antique Bakery has also started an anime. I wonder if they'll censor the ghey like they did in the j-drama? Now don't get me wrong, I love the J-drama - the actor who played Tachibana was perfection. But it wasn't at all like the manga, so I had to view them as two seperate series. It was sort of like what the Tsubasa anime was to the Tsubasa manga, with less shitfest. I like the manga too btw. Anyway, I'm really hoping for Ono's blatant "DEMONIC GHEY CHARM" like in the manga, vs. his "AMBIGUOUS STRAIT GUY NOT GHEY" j-drama version. I am still waiting on my VK 5-7 manga to arrive, but it was shipped by SAL, so it could take a while. Surprisingly I got Tsubasa #20, which was ordered a lot later. By this was shipped by Airmail. I am pleased to say that it's quite easy to read - but then again, the interviews with CLAMP in CLAMP no Kiseki, said they had written it so b/c it is published in Shounen Magazine, and some of their readers are younger. Hey, it works for me. In a brief world of RL-ness - Friday was my last day at my co. It's still sinking in that I am no longer employed and that I will be a full-time student come Sept! It's so weird. I'll be so much older than everyone else. And urmmm, I was shocked how bittersweet my leaving was. But then again, it was 3 yrs of my life spent at that company... Anyway, I shall leave stop here. I really want to make it to tomorrow's Sunday morning meditation service *has slept in the last 3 weeks and gone to afternoon dharma service instead.* | |

| There's no place like home and I'm happy that I'm back after spending two nights and three days in a place where people speak a language I couldn't understand. Where had I been? Well... in a place that will gain 100% of the world's attention starting on August 8 - Beijing. It wasn't a leisure trip but a business one. I went there with my vice-president who happened to be the leader of the project I am working on. We went there for live testing. On our way to our designated gate, we made a lot of stops - shopping and cigarette breaks (applicable to my boss only). When we finally reached our gate, we decided to grab some snacks only to find out that our flight was already making its final call. >.< We weren't exactly the last passengers to board the plane but most of the seats were already occupied. In our hurry, we took the wrong seats but that was corrected immediately. >.< When I first stepped inside the plane, a smell, which even in my dreams, I associated with China wafted to my nose and it felt like I had been to China before. Creepy. It wasn't the best flight nor was it even good. It was probably the most uncomfortable flight I ever had and the only comfort I had was the movie they were showing. It had Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshita Kaneshiro. =) I would like to watch that movie again. The Beijing International airport Terminal 3 looked almost haunted. Why? Because it was huge but there were only few of us walking. It was a new terminal anyway and some of its satellites are still under construction. Anyway, the Beijing I had in mind was different from the Beijing that I saw. It was clean and very spacious. It was almost like Cagayan de Oro with its aggressive drivers but the roads and buildings were almost like Japan's. In fact, Beijing had one-of-a-kind architectural designs for its new buildings and I assumed that this had something to do with Feng-shui, but don't quote me on this because I have a little knowledge with China and feng shui. People were being friendly and very eager to help. Anywhere we went, we saw banners for Beijing olympics. It's all about Olympics. On Saturday morning, we went to the Forbidden city which was very crowded. People were shoving each other that I decided to avoid the crowds and just waited for my boss to get out from the ceremony halls and places which were crowded. The sun was baking down so people were sweaty and smelly so it was a good thing to avoid a pack of people. Then we go down to the hall where paintings and first dictionaries were displayed. There were only few people there and that made me happy. The most frustrating part of my business trip was probably the office's slow internet connection. I was able to work quickly back at the hotel where its internet service was wa~y a lot better. And the most amusing part was people mistaking me for Chinese and thus, speaking to me in Chinese. >.< There was one taxi driver who was frustrated and probably, irritated that I can't speak Chinese... like DUH! If I were interested in China, I would probably do my best to learn but no, I am not. Anyway, below are the pictures and their captions (assuming they have one.) ( One world. One dream. )One world. One dream. | |

| As a disclaimer, I want to say that I do not in any way mean for this question to be impolite, degrading, glib, or rude. I'm honestly curious, and I honestly want to know your opinions and/or knowledge on this matter. Please feel free to be honest. I don't even know if this question would be considered racist or anything--you know my social skills are consistently questionable and I tend to say things that are not...oh, proper, I guess on a regular basis--but I'm not at all meaning for it to be that way.
Okay. So in the Holocaust, we all learn as kids--at least in the US--that 6 million Jews were killed in concentration/death camps and by the Nazis. This is undeniably a great travesty.
But. 4 million others were killed in the genocides in Europe by the Nazis at that time. Homosexuals, blacks, Slavs, gypsies, Poles, open devout Catholics and those are just the ones I can name off the top of my head. Not to mention vocal supporters of the Jews--for example, many supporters in France would don a yellow star labeled 'goy,' as in non-Jewish, and that was alone enough to send someone to a concentration camp.
Now, while this number is not as great or as concentrated as that 6 million (though there were far more Jews than, say, blacks living in Nazi Germany and, later, in the areas they conquered), it's still a lot of people.
So my question is this: yes, it's a horrendous crime against humanity that 6 million Jews were slaughtered in the Holocaust, but isn't it a much greater crime that 10 million humans were slaughtered?

Managua, Nicaragua is a heavenly place You ask a señorita for a 'leetle' embrace She answers you, "Caramba! scram-ba bambarito" In Managua, Nicaragua, that's "No"
Every day is made for play and fun 'Cause every day is fiesta And they work from twelve o'clock to one Minus an hour for siesta
Managua, Nicaragua, what a wonderful spot There's coffee and bananas and a temperature hot So take a trip and on a ship go sailing away Across the agua to Managua, Nicaragua, olé - Mood:flirty

| For some reason, I have been extremely thirsty the past two-three days. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my newly fucked up sleep schedule or not (I has srs headache! Whee!), but I keep drinking water and it's like my body just absorbs it all and I have no fucking idea where it's going because I'm still thirsty. And normally I'm one of those super-unhealthy people whose daily liquid intake is waaaaay below the recommended levels. (I'm.... pretty sure it's not a food-related issue. I don't like eating that kind of food in the first place anyway.) - - - Xam'd. For people who haven't heard, it's a Bones production that was apparently just released as a US exclusive for PS3 or something along those lines. see hereI guess they had to do SOMETHING for PS3 after the Final Fantasy for 360 announcement. Anyway, LQ illegal torrents are already out. I may check it out when/if better quality torrents come out because it's Bones and it looks interesting*. As for the actual distribution decision -- I guess it's a pretty strange albeit interesting decision to me, and I'm sure there's some sort of reasoning behind it, but frankly I don't really care. As a totally shallow surface reaction though, I think Gonzo's deal with crunchyroll is probably smarter/makes more sense to me, just in terms of new-gen distribution tactics. * By interesting I mostly mean that it's Bones. If it were any other company I probably wouldn't bother. - - - You know, I think I've whined about this before, but I am upsettingly unimaginative for a wannabe writer. I wish I had more versatility, especially in terms of character types. I need to stop with the crossdressing swordswomen already. I wonder if this is a fanfic related habit. (I HAVE touched upon this before -- to me, where original stuff is all about creating, fanfic is more about breaking things down -- and I excel at the latter and suck at the former.) Fanfic allows you to ignore the aspects of canon you aren't interested in. Ignore is perhaps not the best way to put it -- you still have to take those aspects into account and work with them, but like I said -- it's all analytical. The actual material's ready-made and waiting for you. You can't just do that when you're creating a world from scratch. Though I *will* admit I've been trying to stretch myself a little more in recent fanfic endeavors. Which has been kind of interesting. But still not *enough*. I especially have a problem with villains. Antagonists. Whatever. I have this... utter inability to come up with believable/intriguing motivations. I think this may also be an effect of too much animanga/video games -- in which the villains/antagonists are like pretty much ridiculous*/pseudo-metaphysical**/corpor ate entities, sometimes led by Mysterious Figure.... rarely very tangible villains, except for the utterly cliched ones with no shades of gray whatsoever. I mean, I keep going through the usual list: ambition, desire for power, revenge.... ??? That and I keep trying to keep myself from structuring everything as lol everything leads up to the final boss. * i.e. the ones who sit around doing nothing except smirking. evilly. you know the type. ** This may work in a video game. (See: Romancing SaGa 3.) It *may* even work in anime... Not so much in a novel. (Not any novel *I'm* writing, anyway.) ( I sense this is getting long. (Includes list of favorite villains...) )Well, this'll give me some food for thought, at least. But you know..... it really depresses me....... when I read/watch other works that are just simply amazing..... and know I will never be able to live up to those........ (This is the downside of marathoning awesome shit like BotI. Damn.) (Yeah, I pretty much just went nuts with the tags. :P) - Tags:anime, blade of the immortal, books/lit, darker than black, fanfic, ffvi, fire emblem, fire emblem: seisen no keifu, games, health, his dark materials, jin yong, le chevalier d'eon, manga, monster, romancing saga 3, seirei no moribito, song of ice and fire, soul eater, urasawa naoki, writing

| Nowadays young people are more violent than ever before. Many people say that their lives have been miserable by young people out on the streets late at night because they are killing and harming others. All those groups and subcultures are awful as all their members are violent. They think only about rebellion against society and its laws. They reject everything and protest against their parents and school. As for the American youth in particular, their problems are connected with their beliefs and values. Sometimes, violence and the fear of it are just overwhelming. In today's world reports of violence in the media and our neighborhoods can make our children feel frightened, unsafe and insecure. So how can we help our kids deal with their aggressive behavior? | |

| I'm alive..! The reason I haven't been updating is simply because, I haven't had much to talk about. Oh, I did go to Six Flags with my friends on a weekend though. I think I screamed something like 5 years worth of my life. During few hours after we went on rides, I felt like I can conquer anything with ease. I think I was naturally high. ....But only for those few hours. Once I'm all calmed down I was being my usual, you know, cool, collected (YEH RIGHT), calm self. lol. Tomorrow's Fridayyyy! P.S. If One Piece was drawn in the style of Obata. | So. AnimeIowa, right? In a month.
I'm going as Gabriel/Jibrille/Jibril from Angel Sanctuary but I want to go as someone else too. Problem? a) I don't want to work too hard or spend too much money, and b) I'm going to have long light blue hair.
So. Any ideas? I don't care from what fandom or what gender, but I want to see if anyone has an idea. :D

| Last Sunday, I watched this movie: I have never been a fan of Collin Farrel, but in In Bruges he does a great job as an erratic, guilt-ridden hitman. The rest of the cast were good too, and the script is very, very funny. It is decided: Bruges... Bruges? What a silly name! They should use the Spanish name for the city: Brujas.
Brujas! Witches! Now, that is a great name for a city: "Yes, I live in the city of Witches." But I digress....will be one of my stops when I visit Belgium.
