So another individual and I were kicking around the idea of why things are kept so secret in the Edmonton kink community, and discussing the whole generational gap between Edmonton and Calgary. It does seem that a larger portion of the younger kinksters come out in Calgary, and not so much in Edmonton. I'm not sure why, except perhaps that Edmonton's scene is a bit harder to break into.

The big difference between this community and other sex question communities is that judgmental and non-factual answers to questions will be deleted with extreme prejudice.

Although it's not an event in Edmonton, I hope that there's a few people willing to make the trip for this special event.
P3Gatherings in Calgary has a special treat planned for September 23rd – we will have our regular workshop and play party – however we will also have something new suggested by two of our guests in between….

Black Solstice featuring the Mr. and Ms. Edmonton Leather contests is
quickly approaching. This year's event occurs on June 9th and 10th.
The organizers are looking for people who want to be apart of this
Edmonton tradition. We need contestants for both the Mr. and Ms
contests. We know of sponsors that are looking for people and can
help anyone who is interested.
Also, an event like this wouldn't be possible without assistance from
volunteers. We need people for many key areas. All volunteers get
free admission to both nights of the event and as much gratitude as we
can muster.

I’m not sure if anyone uses myspace.com, but it seems to be a lot like LJ with blogs, profiles, and communities. On the suggestion of someone I talk to on occasion, I stared an Alberta kink community. I thought of just doing Calgary, but figure that there’s so much back and forth, and so many things that affect both communities, not to mention those in between and outside like Lethbridge, Red Deer & Medicine Hat, that Alberta would be better than just Calgary.

Can anyone recommend some good tattoo/piercing shops in the city (preferably downtown-ish)? I am planning on getting a piercing for my 20th - a genital piercing. Hence why I would like a place that is clean, with knowledgable staff (I'm not taking any risks if someone is going to be piercing my hoo-hah).

After talking to a few people this past weekend, I realized that there are folks up in Edmonton who think there’s nothing happening down in Calgary!
Although this is a Calgary event, I thought that some people might be interested – as well I wanted to clarify that we might not have formal organized groups like the EOS or Northern Chaps… but there is stuff going on down here!
P3Gatherings is a small group of people who help put on workshops, lectures, events, and private play parties. Our next event will be January 28th, which is the Saturday after Kinky? Night (which has moved from Detour to Metro night club), which means that if anyone is interested in attending from out of town – it might make a fun, eventful weekend. Future dates include February 25th, and March 25th.
Our workshop presenter is Sir Scott, who will be presenting “Role Playing in Scenes” - a private play party will follow the workshop.
