| Recording spaces in Edinburgh? |

As many of you may know, I'm currently involved in producing the largest Machinima film ever, that being the enormous Bloodspell project.
We're going to be doing a lot (more) audio recording over the next little while, primarily of voices but also possibly of bands, and I'm wondering if people know decent places in Edinburgh to do this kind of recording? We've already got a couple of options, but I'm looking for more.
We've got all our own kit - multi-track recorder, SM58s, the works. All we're looking for is somewhere:
- Quiet. Primary issue. We can't afford ANY background noise. Hence why we're looking for a studio to record in to begin with. - Acoustically dead. We need the place to have as little reverb as possible, for neutral voice recording. I'm not sure if this is the same thing that musicians will be looking for, but I suspect so. - Available. I'm going to be booking on a couple of weeks' notice, and the more flexibility in timing, the better. - Cheap. We have very little cash. £50 per hour recording studios really aren't an option. - Central. Probably the least important issue, but it needs to be accessible by public transport, and ideally needs to be fairly central in Edinburgh.
Can anyone recommend anywhere? |

| Rats |
[Feb. 24th, 2006|08:14 pm] |
I recently got two pet rats, and the seem fine except for sneezing a lot, particularly the larger one, who sneezes and sometimes sounds like she has cloggy breathing - you know when you get all blocked up with a cold? - like that. I know rats are prone to respiratory problems, and that new rats can get sneezy, but i've never owned any before so I'm not sure how concerned to be. Anyone have any advice, or recommendations for a good vet that doesn't mind dealing with small pets/charge an utter fortune that i could get them checked out at? Thankss. |
