Till's Bookshop [Feb. 10th, 2006|11:13 am]

Anyone know if Till's the secondhand bookshop is still going? (It's by the causewayside side of the meadows.) I've been trying to ring them about bringing in a vast quanity of books, but getting no answer. The advert in last year's yellow pages says they are open 7 days.

I'm also looking for somewhere to sell CDs and DVDS - any suggestions? (I'm clearing the house of a friend who recently died and we're trying to raise enough money to replace a carpet before the flat is sold.)

Hello all!

I have quite a few tourism related text books I need rid of:

Strategic Questions in Food and Beverage Management (Roy C. Wood)

Heritage Visitor Attractions (Leask & Yeoman)

Developing Hospitality Properties and Facilities (Ransley & Ingram)

Tourism Destinations (Davidson & Maitland)

Principles of Marketing (Brassington & Pettitt)

The Development & Management of Visitor Attractions (Swarbroke)

The Business of Tourism (J. C. Holloway)

Most of these were core texts and cost a total of £175. You can have the lot for £35.

Clearing things - thanks and one more question [Feb. 10th, 2006|12:24 pm]

Thanks for the feedback. I've now arranged to sell all the cds, dvds and books (at Hogs Head and Tills). I am left with a large quantity of good dressy clothes - the kind of thing you might buy from Armstrongs. However, Armstrongs inform me they don't do private sales. If nothing else I will take them to a charity shop - but does anyone know of anywhere who might be interested in posh frocks, lovely corsets and dressy things - definitely all vintage, but nice. (Please don't say ebay. We have so many things to clear that it isn't really an option for the other executor and I.)

I hope this is ok with the mods - if not just delete.

I've spoken to [info]seolta's other executor and she has suggested anyone who might be interested in Sarah's vintage clothing or corsets etc can call round from 12 noon to 9pm on Friday 17th Feburary at Sarah's home. This is 27 Cameron House Avenue - top floor left. Any offers made for clothing will be considered.

We know that above all Sarah would like clothes to go to people who will enjoy wearing them. Sizes range from 8-12 and include dresses suitable for larping, as well as nice vintage stuff and a selection of corsets.

The executor's name is Syd - and she is very friendly.

What is the name of the restaurant on Hanover street that has live belly dancing?

My workmate is leaving us to go down south so we are looking for somewhere to go for a meal.

I wasn't aware of this until today, so I thought some of you might be interested to find out about the Edinburgh Landlord Accreditation Scheme; an initiative which seeks to "to raise standards and recognise good practice in the private rented market in the city of Edinburgh".

It's interesting to see that the company (begins with 'B', ends in 'aemore') that messed myself and my flatmates around last year isn't on the list!
