Challenge Destiny is a companion community to the fiction archive, Eternal Destiny. Here, we issue weekly writing challenges in the form of ficlets to the authors of our website as well as other InuYasha/Kagome enthusiasts.

To join and participate, you must be 17 years of age, or older, with a visible year of birth in your LJ profile.


COMMUNITY RULES:

1) As a companion community to Eternal Destiny, Challenge Destiny requires that all entries be Inu/Kags-centric. That means, that while other IY characters can be present, InuYasha/Kagome must be the dominant couple/focus of the story. However, ficlets from either InuYasha or Kagome's individual perspectives are also welcome.

2) Word counts are enforced; exceeding them is automatic disqualification.

3) Challenges can be any genre or universe, but appropriate warnings must be in place.

4) Due to the nature of some of the challenges and entries, potential members must be 17+ with their year of birth permanently posted in their LJ profiles. Yes, we're going to check.

5) One entry, per writer, per challenge.
(Co-authoring is allowed, but the fiction counts as one entry from both writers.)

6) New, original work only.
(Please, no off-shoots or continuations from existing fictions.)

7) No cross-posting until the voting is over.
(Please don't post your entry to other communities or websites until voting has ceased.)

8) All entries must be f-locked and placed under an LJ-cut.

9) When submitting an entry, the subject should list the Challenge Number/title.
(i.e. Challenge 1: Fangs)

10) Wanksters and trolls are not welcome here. If that's your schtick, don't bother wasting our time, or yours, because we'll ban you. Immediately and permanently.

11) Comments/Reviews are welcome and encouraged. (Please feed the authors!) However, destructive criticism is not. If we think a comment has crossed the lines into flaming, one warning will be issued, and if the behavior continues, a ban will follow. Let's keep this fun, people.


CONTEST DETAILS:

New challenges will be posted every Friday. Submissions close the following Friday (one week later) at 12am EST. Voting begins on Saturday and closes on Monday night, 12am EST. Winners are announced on Tuesday with banners to follow.

The FOTM poll will go up the day after the final challenge of the month has been won. Voting for this particular poll will be available for 48 hours.

Warnings: (You must list anything that you think may offend.)


VOTING FOR AN ENTRY:

1) Vote for your three favorite ficlets in the order of: 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
2) Do not vote for your own entry.
3) Voting posts will be screened.


THE FICLET OF THE MONTH!

This community issues weekly challenges, and at the end of each month when the last winners have been chosen, all of the first place winners for that particular month will be entered into a separate poll. The first place winner of that poll will be named our "Ficlet of the Month" and the lucky author will receive all of the goodies that come with the title!

Our weekly winners will receive award banners and our endless gratitude for joining the fun, but our "Ficlets of the Month" will get a little something extra...

* Gifts change from month to month and will be announced after the FOTM winner is chosen. They could be anything from IY merchandise to gifts redeemable online.
