Summary: Atem did something silly and tried to convince Yugi that he was ok. Yugi is not convinced.

Atem's eyes were still glassy as he stared at the ceiling of his dorm room, his thoughts on the past couple of hours. On his forehead was a shiny little bump, and he had scrapes on his arms to accompany the bite marks he had on his neck (which somehow re-opened when he tried to clean it with a washcloth, so it started bleeding profusely again). He couldn't even get to his bed; he was slumped on the floor outside the entrance to his bathroom, blood still tricking just a little onto his clothing.

....Why does this always happen to me.....

Ed had spoken of the day that Miroku died. When a friend of the compound had passed away when a building collapsed on him. At that moment Atem wondered if Ed had any regrets about the people that were saved. If Ed hadn't needed to come to Nyi-Tria.....

.......He must not have been a screw-up for people to mourn him like that....to curse that no one'd spared a thought to look for him....

He was hoping Yugi didn't decide to come over and see him like this; he would have been disappointed in him. Unfortunately for the pharoah, he didn't see the last message Yugi had written - that Yugi was on his way at that very moment.
