God I am the only kid on the planet who gets upset when they can't take extra classes. That time turner thing in Harry Potter that lets her take a billion classes? Yeah, that would be me you have no idea. I would so do that as I have, in fact, been doing it sans time travel every quarter for the past 2 years. And, yeah, so academic advising meeting? Basically because of prereq requirements I literally cannot only not take extra classes next quarter but, despite my valiant efforts to graduate on time, am going to have one extra quarter that I have to do over the some or some shit. This pisses me off to no end, as I have been killing myself taking all said extra classes so I don't have to do that. But no. Please, put the real world on hold while I get stuck here another quarter taking only 2 classes, both relativly useless ones. And, yes, lets remember that I am paying $40,000 for this damn school and lets throw in the several hundred on supplies each quarter and housing and what do you get?

What you get, basically is, that as of now and unless money magically falls into my lap, D*C is not happening this year. Literally, I just can't stretch it. Although that's really not whats pissing me off the most because as I said before, I kind of feel like this clique I've been part of for the past few years suddenly decided to exclude me, so I didn't really have fun and it already looks like it would be happening again next year. So I'd probably be miserable again. (Alright, miserable is too strong a word, I admit, but I must be consistant in the tone of my semi-emo post here.) No, what annoyes me is just being here that random extra quarter rather than out in the real world doing whatever I'm going to be doing there. I'm ready to be done going to school. I like it here and its fun, but I've just been so planned and focused on getting out at that strict date I set for myself that its annoying. I blame all of this on IB. I really really do because all the other kids here who did IB in high school are the same way. We all have at least a major and a minor (hell, I know a former IB kid who is double majoring with 3 minors) and we all take extra classes every quarter and we all have to push ourselves to do these rediculous elaborate projects and write huge papers and we're really not happy unless we're miserable and even then we're not very happy but God forbid we shouldn't over-achieve until we drop dead, you know?

And now I have to go brace myself for half the crazy people I'm related to showing up. And not the good half. The half I like and all but I'm also glad we only see them once a year at family reunions. So not enthused. And I had Jon visiting next week to look forward to but then my dumb brother failed French (he did not get the IB gene like me and Halie, apparently. We would both die at the idea of turning in late work.) so that's not happening although he is getting a trip to the Virgin Islands inseat so how well the grounded lesson is going to sink in I'm not quite sure. Meanwhile I get to have fun by crunching bank account numbers all day and trying to make things work in between writing an essay and making a lamp.

And listening to Thunder Road on repeat over and over again all day because I'm mildly upset/depressed/yes almost cried in the academic advisor meeting because of sudden lack of overachieveabilitiness and dammit this song is just uplifting, alright?

So my internet has been acting like a dirty whore but luckily I was out to dinner on Friday night and then at the Maryland Renn. Fair on Saturday so I didn't have to deal with it. D: Of course, it doesn't help when it's still acting like that. It finally is kind of working! :O

This weekend is Anime USA and I know I'm bringing Poison Ivy. I'll probably also bring Henry Townshend. Simple and comfortable outfit, plus I get to carry an axe and chocolate milk (and possibly the Eileen Barbie in my shirt XD). Although, I was thinking about bringing some makeup and being Sacrament 21 again. Cause that was fun and it's getting close to Halloween, so maybe busting out the nasty at the convention this weekend might be fitting. But knowing me, I will be lazy and just bring Henry. XD

Speaking of costumes... I think this is what Dragon*Con 2009 will look like. And of course, the list will probably change a trillion times before then. (Although, the list I posted after D*C 2007 of what I would wear at D*C 2008 was surprisingly almost spot-on. :D)...

Sweet fuck, since when is Silent Hill about SUPER MEGA COMBAT IN YOUR FACE and not atmosphere and wandering all paranoid? Three Needlers then a Siam (that you HAVE TO fight to move on) and then there's the shitty Smog (and nowhere to run past him) and now there's a boss and I have half my health and one serum and I can't get ANYWHERE with that. Not to mention if I did beat that gross damn doll I would have ABSOLUTELY NO HEALTH ITEMS TO MY ALEX'S NAME. Where is the damn easy mode? I am not a combat whore when I play video games, I am an atmosphere whore. I guess I have to start over or load one of my old saves. At least the storyline and other stuff is still hot, so far.

So, first of all, we just watched There Will Be Blood and I realized I didn't properly spazz the first time about the fact that I've been using Danial Day-Lewis as a PB for Saetan at Revelry Junction for years now (YES YEARS WUT?) and then this movie comes along in which he limps around adopting children left and right. "No more abusive father nonsense for you, little blond girl! Here, have a new dress!" Seriously. Seriously.

Having gotten that out of my system lets move on to more important fangirling news in my little world, namly that, WHEN LOOKING BACK AT A LIST OF MY FAVORTIE CHATACTERS FOMR ANYTHING EVER AN OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF THEM ARE MEMBERS OF HIVEMINDS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT ME AS A PERSON, BUT LOOK!

- RAYNAR (Star Wars EU) - Come on now we all know he is number one on this list. Yes, I adroed him when he was dorky Jedi Academy WTF crystal snake nooo!Raynar, and I got really turned on by pimptastic emo NJO hottie Raynar but then he gets burnt up and becomes a bug and leads a hive minded species and I am like OH HELL YEAH NOW IT IS ON! And Then he runs around being snarky and clicking and controling people's brains and, like, mindrapping Zekk and Jaina or whatever and making out with Alema (I'll come to that shortly) and I love it. All of it.

- ALEMA (Star Wars EU) - I was lukewarm in her in NJO, not gonna lie, although the part where she and Lando singlehandedly take over a ship and kick some Vong ass and then she tries to get into his pants and he's like, ummm, married and she's like, ummm, so? is classic. But then she joins a hivemind, kicks some ass, looses some bodyparts, goes batshit insane and stalks the entire Solo family for years and bitches at Sith and she's suddenly, like, my favorite EU chick ever except for Lusa and her random topless hippyness.

- ACHMED (Symphony of Ages) - Ok, so Achmed has always been my favorite literature character and I've fangirled him longer than anyone or anything ever. And then The Assassin King comes along and Rath pops up and is like "YOU'RE MOM'S SPECIES AND MINE ARE LIKE BUGS WANNA JOIN???" And Achmed is like, "Fuck you, we knew that from like 5 books ago get out of my face before I choke a bitch. Fucking hive minds." BUT BUT BUT! then he does that whole thing where he's like wondering if that's why he's so obsessive about everything because he's got this big empty space that's supposed to be in a hivemind and ironically he's the most private person ever wut??? If he joins them in later books, I will probably slit my wrists.

- ZEKK (Star Wars EU) - Look, just see the notes about Raynar and Alema and add in some sexy emo and you're good.

- JACOB BLACK (Twilight) - I can't stand the vampires in these books with their CONSTANT REGRET AND ANGST AND WOE! And I can't stand Bella with her sickening levels of Sue-dom. But do I love the kid who ride around on a motercycle before ripping off his clothes and, like, exploding into a warewolf or whatever? Hells yeah! And I love all of them and their little thoughts and snark and HI WE ARE WOLVES HOWL ! stuff.

So, I finally got around to reading Breaking Dawn and as far as I can tell Stephenie Meyer pretty much just read Wraeththu and went, "Well heck, let's just do that then."

Also, I'm starting to freak out about D*C. Like, usually, don't tickets start off at $45? But they're $60. And I'm really beginining to worry I might not be able to afford to go because between that and the plane and the room and the costumes it really racks up and so far in the 3 weeks of this quarter I have spent $500 on supplies for Industrial Design. So add in 7 more weeks plus the next 2 quarters and you begin to see why I'm concerned. I'm still not even sure I want to go to begin with because I didn't really have any fun this past year and now I'm starting to think it might not work out. I mean, I need to start saving money for, like, the real life. Almost done with school, you know?

GUESS WHAT? IT'S FRIDAY. :D

I really have nothing else exciting to say except that. BUT THAT IS EXCITING, YES? WEEKEND!

They're doing a good job with the whole "WE'RE BROTHERS AND WE KIND OF LIKE EACH OTHER" thing. And I'm getting emotionally attached and that's not a good thing to do with characters in Silent Hill.

It's stuff like that in this series that causes a disgusting hollow pit in your stomach.

(I guess I will find out the answers to these questions as I keep playing -- I will spoiler everything and anything for myself as you have seen previously with Star Wars books and so on -- I will spoil everything for myself except Silent Hill.)

KFJKJDSJF TODAY SUCKED. AND THEN IT WAS AWESOME.

I went to Best Buy (after calling Circuit City and Gamestop, etc. and seeing that SHH was IN STOCK at Best Buy) around 12:30 and they were like "lol we can't sell you the game till 2pm" -- why? I have no fucking idea. But I had a meeting at work from 2:30 to 4, so I was pissed. I was pisssssssssed. I knew I would go back and they would be like "SORRY WE WERE KIDDING YOU DON'T GET IT AT ALL TODAY!" I took off work at 4 (Silent Hill is worth an hour of personal leave, yo, seriously). And I went back and it was sitting in front of me on the shelf where it hadn't been earlier with a light shining from the heavens and choirs singing and stuff. I bought it (duh D:).

Then I stopped and got gas cause I needed it really bad. I'm getting back in my car and these two guys are walking by and one is mixed and his skin was so purty and he has on these long shorts and a backpack and he stops and points to my car -- to the front of it, to my plates.

I was all, "WHY IS HE POINTING AT MY CAR OH GOD WHAT DID I DO~"

And I see him mouth, "WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT STAR WARS?!"

So I open my window and I'm like, "I LOVE STAR WARS!"

And we chatted and it was hilarious and amazing and made my day. He was like, "I just finished the latest book! Jacen, oh man! And I teared up at the end when I thought Allana was dead!" Then he pulls out his phone and shows me his wallpaper on there and it's these two totally adorable kids and he's like, "THESE ARE MY KIDS!" *points to the cute little boy on the left* "THIS IS MY SON. I NAMED HIM ANAKIN. AFTER ANAKIN SOLO."

We fanboygirled a bit more and then he was like, "IT WAS NICE TALKING TO YOU!" And I was all, "YOU TOO OMG THANK YOU FOR KNOWING WHAT MY LICENSE PLATE WAS!"

I used tonight to finish my homework for this week and wash my hair and get crap done so tomorrow afternoon I can come home after work, game in hand, and go in the basement and turn off my lights and play and play and cry myself to sleep at night because of the creepy shit I witnessed in the game all evening -- SERIOUSLY OHMYGAWHWAH WHA WHAT IS THAT WHAT IS THAT --

GAME: Silent Hill 4: The Room
PLATFORM / YEAR: Playstation 2 / 2004

GAME TRAILER: HIT IT! (CREEPY EFFING TWO-BABY HEAD THINGS~)
FAVORITE CHARACTER: Oh, it has to be Henry. And Walter. OMG WALTER. SO WRONG.

WHY THIS GAME IS BADASS: I think out of all the Silent Hill games, this is the one that creeped me out the most. The absolutely claustrophobic way you mill around Henry's apartment and come face to face with odd and extremely disturbing manifestations IN FIRST PERSON really gets under my skin. Especially right when you wake up in Henry's bed and there's SOMETHING CHILDLIKE AND FREAKY IN HIS CLOSET STEALING YOUR HEALTH CAUSE YOU STAND UP RIGHT BESIDE IT.

People hate on this game cause it's not like the others, but I think it fits in quite nicely. I also like how they called back to the article James finds in Silent Hill 2 about Walter Sullivan and the SOUP SPOON IN HIS NECK and all that jazz. The one thing that I can find to dislike about this game is revisiting places a second time and having to go through them again, but the fun part about it to find all the stuff that's changed -- and of course, to deal with whatever ghost is chasing after your skinny, buttoned-up, metrosexual ass (i love you henry townshend <33333).

Another creep/kickass factor = being chased. In the other games, there was something and you stop and fight it and it's gone. Here you have ghosts chasing after you that can only be stopped by something you have to leave in them to keep them down -- and you get less of them in the game then there are ghosts. Also, Walter chasing you. EFFING SCARY. YOU CAN'T STOP HIM COMPLETELY. YOU CAN ONLY RUN. AND HE HAS A CHAINSAW OR A GUN OR A STICK. AND YOU'RE LIKE WTF STICK WHATEVER LOSER. AND THEN HE SLAPS THE SHIT OUT OF YOU WITH THE STICK, DUDE.

Also, this. Walking up to Henry's front door and there's blood coming out the peephole and you look in it and and and... it's so hot and gross and gave me nightmares. SEXY NIGHTMARES.

...no, actually just nightmares. (AND DUDE IS IT ME OR IS THERE A 21 ON HIS CHEST -- WAS I RIGHT? and damn that was four years ago. i feel old.)

MOST UNSETTLING MOMENT: Henry breaking that wall in his apartment... and... what he finds back there. D: And the peephole, for reasons stated above.

MOST PRETTY DAMN GORGEOUS MOMENT: Love when Henry brings flowers to Eileen in the hospital (ADORE ADORE ADORE <333), but I will never get over how crazy YES they made the "Eileen's Death" ending (OH SPOILER LOL? -- it's okay, she doesn't go in all of them). The first-person view of Henry meandering around his haunting-free apartment like "damn i'm kind of good" and then hearing on the radio that Eileen died in the hospital -- the way his knees give out and voice just mumbles, "EILEEN~" -- I LOVE IT. It's so simple and SO HEARTBREAKING. HENRY, YOU SHOULD'VE STARTED SPYING ON HER SOONER, YOU PERV.
