| | The 6pm news as my headphones have gone for a walk forever for the third time... | ] | I'm not proud of resorting to this, but seeing as this is a medium for some to continue kicking it round then let's dance.
( Not for those who don't like their drama )
I've been getting the pen to paper of late and churned out both some lyrics and new scenes for my psychodrama feature script. My lyrics sound like I've listened to way too much KMFDM, EBM and many other silly acronyms: "*&^$$$&* greets apathy's apostasy" and songs about Iron bitches, that sort of thing. I've mentioned the feature film script for years but it's strange, I only get enthused about it when I'm at a low point and can use those emotions creatively. Anyways, I will say about the script that it's name is "INDIGO" and it's a story of how two people come to love each other but can only express their sexuality and who they are through music. Even worse, one character starts off the film lost in the world she's created, only to come out of it when her mute male counterpart is crushed by her previous demeanour and so slips off into his own world (that she kicks in the balls heh). There's also a KK music vid to knock off, just a bit of debate who's shooting at my end, I'd prefer keeping the insurance valid on a $40,000 camera when on a shoot heh. The move was a success, so I'm flathunting again! so many moves, gah. I've been battling with an allergy the last few days so now begins the mad hunt to find out whos the culprit. A lot of you might not be able to make it up for the Masqurade Ball on friday night so come along with me to this cool gig!

| | Placebo - Special K | ] | The time, it does go by all too quickly when good friends are in town. Well, Noah hops a plane and heads back to Los Angeles today. It was good to get to spend time with such a good friend again, of all the things we left behind in Los Angeles, Sev and I miss our extended family the most. It means the world to us that Noah found his way up to Seattle to spend some time, however brief, with us. So, while he was here, we treated him to a few days in the life of Sev and Chris in Seattle. Upon arrival in Seattle on Thursday, he was given the rock star treatment of being picked up at the airport and shuttled directly to Prototype where he did a guest DJ spot; what fun it was to DJ along side him again and rock the old school. Old School night at Prototype went well enough, or so I think. Personally I got to play (and heard the other DJs play) a lot of music I haven't heard in a club in a long time. I got it out of my system and now Prototype can resume on its normal, playing current music path.
Friday we kidnapped our Gnomish house guest and took him on a sight seeing/running of errands day trip. We visited the Troll underneath the bridge and walked around Fremont. Of course that was then followed by a trip out to Best Buy in order to buy a new camera; the Nikon Coolpix S600. Sev had used Noahs at the club the previous night and had fallen in love with it (damn you Noah!). Ha! Afterward we headed back to the Hill and walked around Broadway, Seattles version of Melrose more or less. Shopping was done, chit-chat was made, it was a perfect day for all of it. Later that evening, after resting up, we headed over to the Rosebud to visit Sir William at work. We shared drinks over various meat, cheese and fruit platters. Well, Sev, Noah and Kiyan shared the drinks, I couldn't due to being on vicodin. We were then convinced into walking over to this venue up the street to see some rock/metal bands play. The venue was really cool, it reminded me a little of the Whiskey in Los Angeles. We stayed a while, had a few more drinks and then went home.
Saturday, Noah and I were left to our own devices. Oh, god no, right? So we laced up our boots, hopped into the car and went for coffee at Caffe Ladro before meandering over to Every Day Music (I really wish Musicwerks was still open). With new tunes in hand, we then headed out to Snoqualmie Falls and amazingly enough I didn't get us lost. The Falls I think are one of my favorite places in Seattle to visit. Once home we had a few minutes to relax before the BBQ fun started. There was grillin'...there was drinkin'...and there was conversin'. All the things that make BBQ's a great thing to have. We shared a bottle of campaign that Noah had saved from Sev and my wedding and brought up with him. Awww. Then it was out the door to go to the Noc Noc and then the Merc. Both clubs were packed and full of the people that dance and drink. Ha. We finally made our way back home around 3AM and crashed.
This morning we had to say our sad goodbyes as I had to go to work while later Sev will take Noah back to the airport where we then return the Gnome of Doom back to you Los Angeles people; thank you for the loan. |

My build of the Voice of Saturn Sequencer.
All details there in the video, no sense in cutting and pasting it here.
Looking for suggestions on how to properly label this thing now. Not willing to use rub on dry transfers, pain in the ass. Have a punch labeler, but that's not gonna look very good. Suggestions? |

Easily one of the best science fiction writers I've ever run across.
For an easily digestible bit, I suggest Rogue Farm from the 'Live without a Net' short story compilation. That's what got me hooked, and got me to hunt more down.
Here's everything: http://www.antipope.org/charlie/fiction/index.html
The local library had a few of his titles. I read Glasshouse first, should have read Accelerando first. Oh well.
I could literally feel my brain grinding down on a regular basis, chewing up clock cycles, as I tried to digest the barrage of ideas and themes wrapped in a mutated crunchy shell of damn good writing.
Absolutely brilliant. I'll be buying a lot of these for re-reads years hence.
If you like SF, you do yourself a disservice not to ingest some of Stross' work.

How many of you use LastFM, whether as an artist or as a listener?
If you've got an active music project, you've probably already got an automatically generated profile up on the site, by virtue of listeners having listened to one or more of your tracks. Go check.
You can edit your information, upload tracks with the usual stream/download controls and, best of all you get paid direct royalties with quarterly reports for what's been listened to. Beat that, Myspace.
As a listener, not only can you track and share what you listen to, but the site will create a radio stream based on what you listen to, one for stuff you already like, one for stuff you'd probably like. And it does a good job. It applies that same sort of 'youd probably like this' logic to meeting other users, whose profiles you can then pillage for more music, etc.
This all works from a process they call Scrobbling, which is basically the export of their lean little multiplatform program that pulls the new plays from your media player software (iTunes, etc) and adds it to your profile database on the site. http://www.last.fm/download/ Source code is available. How cool is that.
Been a user on LastFM for about a year now. Very clever, highly recommended. =] |

JULY 10th - PROTOTYPE OLD SCHOOL NIGHT W/ GUEST DJ NOAH K (LOS ANGELES)
Thanks to everyone who came out to the last PROTOTYPE and who continue to support a better Seattle Industrial scene!
Summer's finally here and as the weather heats up we're starting to feel a tad bit nostalgic. On that note, this weeks PROTOTYPE will be a very special OLD SCHOOL NIGHT featuring tracks spun exclusively from the 1980-1992 era. We've also got Guest DJ Noah K from Los Angeles on board!
Come out and get your stomp on and prepare to hear a lot of music you probably haven't for a while, as well as a few surprises. It all happens, THURSDAY, JULY 10TH @ 1009 E Union St, Seattle, WA 98122.
Don't forget that you can shop for your favorite CDs at the Musicwerks table; really it's the only place in Seattle to buy the music you crave!
See you on the dance floor!

The things you find on You Tube when you randomly search. I didn't know the Cylab video was on an episode of "Noisescape TV" along side Ayria, Inertia, Tonikom, Betty X, and Mankind is Obsolete. In good company I'd say. Here's the episode:
