It's been eleven days since the official end of the festival, and we still have people wanting to join! Which is just another reiteration of how awesome you guys are. :D And to let you know what exactly you fancy folks accomplished, here's some quick stats:

So again, thank you. :)
A few general fandom announcements:
Be on the lookout for the new userinfo at diexkaorulove, which will include new community guidelines and updates on the DxK network. We'll definitely be needing feedback on some decisions regarding a few particular LJ communities within the network (basically, we're considering integrating them back into diexkaorulove), and we'd love to hear what you think!
deg_remix is debuting its first series of remixed fics in about a month, during the first week of February, so also keep an eye out for that, if you're interested!
And as always, the DiexKaoru Love Fanfiction Archive is always open for submissions; we encourage you to submit your works, and if we get enough entries from this community, we'll be sure to make a specific category for "DxK Festival 2006"! Help is always needed - so let us know if you'd be interested in working on the archive with us, because that would be amazing. :)
So this is a new year - the Festival ends for 2006, but we hope you'll be coming back for more in 2007! See you then!

Huge apologies for the lack of comments and follow-ups from us mods; civilized_era is currently out of town and has no access to the internet, prelude_to_ruin has an unavoidable RL issue, and my internet connection has been severely bogged down because of the Taiwan earthquake.
I'd just like to announce that even though the last week of the festival is already finished, all late entries for any of the weeks can be posted on January 1-2, 2006. So if you have a late entry, don't fret, it's still eligible to be posted for the festival. :)
This is a very lame closing e-mail for the festival, I know, a better one coming soon. Until then, Happy New Year to everybody! :D

So... this is my entry for the last week of our DxK Winter Festival.
Before you click at the cut I highly encourage you to read nigiripop's songfic "Strange and beautiful" because it inspired me to draw.
And I want to thank viral_input for uploading the "City Sounds". I listened to those beautiful songs while drawing.

Author’s notes: I listened to ‘unfinished’ (from the ballad collection) 40 times on repeat while writing this *heh* it’s really getting to me now. Tell me what you think? It starts with Die’s POV and switches somewhere in the middle. I didn’t indicate it, but it’s quite obvious I think. First time writing a songfic, hope this can be called one.

ok, for this week I submit a little animation youhouuuuu!!!
It's my first animation (ok, I' did some before but not as long as this one) *proud, proud*
I did all the draw with my little hand and, even if I started this in October, I did the major part this two past week XD
the animation is based on a song I listened when I was a little girl XD (so I think I can put it in this song fic week)
mmhh... even if sometimes the draw are ugly (because I drew them bad or because I zoomed and the pic became more pixelized (and because I changed the file from avi to mpg, some pic became more ugly) I can call it a cute thing (well everytime I saw it I just thinks "so cuuuuuute" XD)
btw I'm so happy to have finish it in the time and post it there youhouuuuu ^o^

EEEYAAAH! Horribly late announcement, but here we go!
The usual reminders:
1. Please post fanworks that are appropriate for the Songfic week ONLY. For more information on what is acceptable to post during this week, as well as the schedule of themes for the Festival, go here for the sign-up entry and rules. The festival's Songfic week lasts from December 24th to the 31st.
2. Make sure to post all entries that contain fanworks for the Festival IN THIS COMMUNITY. Also, please do not lock your posts so that non-participants can also view your work.
3. Cross-posting to diexkaorulove and other communities where your work is appropriate is allowed and very much encouraged, but use discretion. It would also be rather splendid if you could show your association with the DxK Winter Festival by jotting down a quick, "Written/Drawn/Done for the dxk_festival," in your fanwork's notes.
4. Please use lj-cuts and warnings accordingly.
5. If you're not a participant and would like to be updated on the community and the posts, feel free to friend this comm! :D
6. Late entries for any of the weeks must be posted on January 1, 2006 ONLY. So if you're a participant with an entry for any of the weeks and you didn't meet the deadline? Don't fret, because we have New Year ready for you to show us your work! 8D
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's really excited to see everyone's works, with this being the final themed week of the festival. Bring it ON, everybody! I really can't wait to see the fanworks, so enjoy the week, fellow DxK-ers!
