Okay, so I'm going to give everyone TWO MORE DAYS to make icons for Special Challenge 13. Why, you might ask? Because I really want to see more icons, especially for the Classic categories, and for a challenge that's been running for over a week with the chance to make multiples for over half the subjects, the numbers are disappointing!

SO! I'm leaving the submission post open until Friday the 26th - that's a little less than two days from now! So I'm hoping to see a few more submissions, especially since I know people are used to a Friday due date. Also, we'll just have voting as usual this weekend. (And I'm going to attempt to have the Challenge 12 banners knocked out by Fri. at the latest!)

As no doubt a few of you have noticed, this week's challenge is a few days late ... And this is because I'm leaving to go to New York and Canada tomorrow for a friend's wedding celebration and I won't be back until Monday, with an uncertain amount of internet access. So, in trying to come up with a solution that wouldn't shortchange all of you of exciting icon challenges, I decided to delay and extend Challenge 13 ... and also add a few extra fun things to make it worthwhile!

SO! This week's challenge will run into next week, giving you two extra days before your submissions are due! Also, voting will be extended for another day or so. As for the extras ... well, I'm allowing submission of TWO, count them, TWO icons for the B challenges and the Various challenge - that gives you the chance to submit eight icons this week, not just five! Also, there will be a special award per section added in the voting: Most Creative. So there's a possible extra banner out there for you to win!

Now, then. This week's fodder is hopefully suitable for such excess. New Who's subject is the beautiful, engaging Reinette, aka Madame du Pompadour, from The Girl in the Fireplace. Exemplify the beauty of the French courtesan who was haunted by clockwork robots and managed to capture the hearts of the Doctor. Your Classic Who challenge is from the very first season, s1x06 - The Aztecs. Barbara is mistaken for a goddess and gets to wear a fantastic costume, Susan refuses an arranged marriage and does a bit of screaming, the Doctor gets romantically ensnared himself (for the first time!), and Ian becomes a strangely adept warrior and wears a huge headdress. For the Various challenge, we have the thirteen part miniseries cartoon made for Totally Doctor Who, Doctor Who: The Infinite Quest. Starring Ten and Martha on a fantastic journey in pursuit of a fantastic, legendary ship called The Infinite, the animation is full of gorgeous scenery and amazing likenesses of our favorite adventurers!
