Welcome to duff_stillness, one of the many icon stillness communites around. This stillness community is a place to show off your icon making skills by entering your Hilary Duff icons to compete for a first, second, third, or miod’s chouce award. There’s only one catch – each week, your icon has to be made form the pictures given, and there can’t be any animation at all. So come over and check out the current contests!

Here are the rules specific to this Hilary stillness community:

1. Absolutely no animated submissions. It’s a stillness community, sillys!

2. Your icon(s) that are entered for the week’s contest cannot be shown, used, or posted anywhere else until the contest is over and winners have been announced.

3. No voting for your own stuff. You’ll get disqualified. And while we’re on that, no getting friends or random people to vote for you. You can, however, say, “Hey, go check out this community and vote in their contest while you’re at it.”

4. Check and make sure that your icons entered meet LJ’s standards: 100 by 100 max., no bigger than 40 kb, etc. etc. Oh, and the icon can’t be a resubmission, ie. You can’t enter an icon that’s been entered somewhere else.

5. No stealing icons. People work hard on their entries, so just ASK if you want to use one.

Here’s how the weekly contests will be run here at duff_stillness:

xx | Each Monday a new contest will be posted. Icons will be submitted as comments to that entry, but don’t worry- comments are all screened.

xx | Each Wednesday, you will receive a midweek reminder of the contest.

xx | On Friday, the contest will end at 9:00 PM pacific standard time (that’s midnight for you on the east coast).

xx | On Saturday morning or afternoon, voting for the challenge will go up. You’ll vote for your favorites.

xx | Winners will be announced on Monday morning, or possibly Sunday night.

xx | On the first of each month, we will have a “Best Of…” contest, where members will vote for their favorite winning icons of the month.
