ds_meta, a Due South meta discussion community!
We know you LOVE to think about Due South, so let us hear it! Any and all due South and Six Degrees meta is welcome here. You can post int he community itself or alternatively post a link to a post on your personal LJ.
What is meta? Well, uh, hm. That's a tough one, huh? Most of us know meta when we see it. For the purposes of the community, meta is defined as discussion of both canon (example: Ray's use of the word queer in the show) or fandom (example: The challenges of using Fraser POV). This is not meant as a discussion of writing PROCESS per se (so, no discussion of how you write in terms of process, but WHAT you write), but more as a discussion of content. The what instead of the how, if you will. Whatever. Um. Meta...yay?
It can be an essay, general questions you want answering, facts about canon or wondering about show 'what ifs'. All aspects are welcome here.
What can I post? Well, anything really, as long as it falls into the fairly loose and vague guidelines mentioned above. The mods will let you know if it isn't meta, but otherwise, any DS topic is fair game.
How do I participate in discussion? We hope that posts made to the community will result in lively, thoughtful discussions. The number one rule is to stay open-minded and to be considerate. We recognize that there may be topics about which people have strong opinions, but we ask that NO FLAMING occur. Just polite, thoughtful, considerate discussion. It's okay if it's heated, just not rude. Okay?
