Title: A Bunch of Times It Didn't Happen (and One Time It Did)
By: [info]sprat
Pairing: F/K
about 2100 words

Posting parts 1 and 2 because they sort of stand alone, and I've held things up long enough; parts 3 and 4 will follow (soon!) in my journal.

Many thanks to [info]china_shop, who let me post late and didn't even call me any names. Thanks also to [info]kill_claudio, whose excellent first lines I've borrowed here.

Title: Late for dinner
Author: [info]jamethiel_bane
Pairing: Ray/Ray
Rating: NC-17
Wordcount: 1390
Notes: I was assigned [info]jadelennox  's lines. The first line is taken from "If I am to be judged by those who come after me, let me be judged by the truth." which is awesome (and PG-13 rated) threesome fic. Much thanks to [info]china_shop  for allowing me the extra 24 hours to let me get some sleep. [info]nos4a2no9  did the beta, and resisted my attempts to break her with funky tense changes in the middle of clauses. She also made me put the blowjob in, so it's all her fault. [info]catwalksalone  made me write exposition. Curse these logical betas! Thanks babe!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for making the Fantastic First-Line Flashfic Festival a wonderful success and proving once again why Due South fandom is the best! I can't wait to catch up on all the new stories! *GLEE*

\o/ \o/ \o/

There are three more fics due from people who needed 24-hour extensions, and then it's a wrap! Also, a very special thank you to [info]slidellra for stepping in and pinch-hitting. *twirls her*

ETA: And a couple of huge colourful bouquets of thanks to [info]sageness for being my Challenge Consultant and Sanity Advisor, and to [info]mergatrude for being Keeper of the Spreadsheet. *hugs them both tightly*

Tomorrow I'll post a new flashfic challenge and return you to your regularly scheduled programming. For now, let the champagne flow, the balloons float, and the Stetsons fall where they may.

Title: On Home, and Beef Jerky
Author: Greensilver
Challenge: First Line
Length: 5,064
Notes: Lightly implied Fraser/Vecchio. Beware of wolf vomit.

Title: Criminal Justice
Author: Giulietta
Pairing: none; gen (though in my head, there will be F/K after the fic, I doubt any of that made it in.)
Rating: PG-13, for violence.
Word Count: ~6000
Summary: Academic AU. 'Nuff said.
Notes:Thank you to my lovely betas, [info]shrewreader and [info]slidellra, who hammered out the kinks and called me on my inability to write the English language. Any stupid mistakes left are mine.

First line is from [info]mergatrude's adorable Documentary Challenge -- "Benton has had some difficulty adjusting to a large classroom environment, but has made good progress."

Warning: There are pretty big images under the cut, so dial-up users, beware. At some point I'm going to code up a text-only version, but for now, this is what I've got.

Title: The one who finds the hot dog
Author: jadelennox
Rating: G
Spoiler warning: Crossover with The Westing Game. No real spoilers for that book, but if you haven't read it, why the hell not? Go, read! There's a copy at your local library, I'm sure, and it's short. Also, I bet you anything there'll be spoilers in the comments to this story.
From: one of [info]shoemaster's MJ-countdown drabbles
Characters: Dief, and Westing Game characters Turtle Wexler and Julian Eastman. Also Kowalski & Fraser.
Word Count: 754
Disclaimer: Alliance Atlantis owns the due South characters. Ellen Raskin created The Westing Game -- for which all right thinking people thank her every day -- and her estate owns it. I'm making no money off any of these characters.
Summary: "It's a hot dog! As American as baseball, apple pie, and --" she takes a huge bite, leaving her speech muffled. "-- July fourth fireworks."
