About
Why is there a community?
Because believe it or not, there is material out there.
It has also come to our attention that there are fans out there. They're largely quiet, but they're out there.
But does it make historical sense?
If anything, it makes more sense than the Prussia- Spain- France buddy trio.
The English are an ethnically Germanic people. The English language is a Germanic language.
As an island nation, England's, and later Britain's immediate threat to security was France. However, as a member of Europe, the United Kingdom often found itself fighting on the continent in order to maintain the balance of power. Although in some wars, such as the War of Austrian Succession the United Kingdom stood on an opposite side to Prussia, in many other wars, the United Kingdom allied itself with Prussia becoming one of Prussia's more historically frequent allies.
Such examples are what is now regarded as the first occurance of a World War, the Seven Years' War, as well as The War of Spanish Succession, and The Napoleonic Campaigns. The 19th century saw frequent marriages between the Prussian and the British royal households.
Does it make canon sense then?
When you consider that Prussia isn't one to hold his punches, his use of the least severe form of 'disagreeable' when describing England's food is quite possibly the nicest anyone's ever been about it.
Additionally, though it was only hinted at in a letter, England did join Prussia canonically in the Seven Years' War.
This is, of course, nothing particularly supportive, since they've only really directly and indirectly interacted about three times... hey, at least it's positive. Hurr.
All that, and they're just really hot together. ;)
