I hadn't heard much of Younha before, but when this album came out I decided I wanted to give it a try anyway, even though female vocalists are a bit touch and go for me. And omg I am so glad that I did give this album a try, because Younha has such a gorgeous voice, and this album is really, really pretty.

Her voice is a bit high but it's still quite rich and full, it's not thin, scratchy or nasally and she doesn't sound like she's sucking up the helium.

Gieok and Hero are my favourite tracks off this album. Gieok is just really pretty, and having Tablo featured is an added bonus :3 It's just a really sweet song and I really love it. Someday is pretty powerful, sort of like a really upbeat rock ballad with strings thrown in there too. I love it XD

So please give Younha a try :D

asdkmslfknsdlgnslkgnld!!! Finally it's here, FTIsland's second album, Colorful Sensibility! I am such a fan of these boys, they are so great :3

If you don't know of FTIsland already, they are a five member band that play sort of pop, sort of rock type music. There's Hongki on vocals, Jonghun on lead guitar, Wonbin on guitar, rap and second vocals, Jaejin on bass and Minhwan on the drums. They're quite young (16-18), but they're really, really talented and they are SO loveable.

If you're familiar with Buzz or izi, their sound is similiar to those.

This album stays true to FTIsland's signature style - light, cheerful and happy most of the time - but there's something about it that makes it sound a lot fuller, richer and more mature than their debut album from last year. Hongki's voice is as gorgeous as ever, strong and clear, he's great at singing upbeat songs and sad ballads alike. Wonbin gets to sing more as well, which I'm really happy with since he's my favourite XD

I really recommend that everyone give these guys a try if you haven't already :3 (And don't let their young ages put you off! There's some serious talent you'll be missing out on if you do.)

This is also one of the very few albums that don't have one song that I hate. Seriously, almost every single album of every single band I've ever enjoyed, has had one song that I simply cannot stand. On FTIsland's first album, it was Primadonna. But there is nothing at all on this one that I hate XD

I obviously recommend every track that I uploaded, but out of them all I most recommend the first one, Saranghuae (Huae), and the last one, Train. Train is perhaps my favourite track on the entire album. Sarangira Boreuneun Ireum and Troublemaker are two of the more upbeat tracks on this album.

I have to say - this one surprised me. Aya's always been easily recognised for her stylin' girl-rock sound, rarely dabbling in ballads, and even when she has given ballads a go in the past, they've been upbeat sort of ballads, the sort you'd expect from a girl with her musical style.

Summer Memories sounds more like something Ito Yuna or Koda Kumi might pull out on a ballad day.

That is by no means saying it's a bad thing. Actually, it's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. If this is the way Aya's gonna go to hit the big time, I'm not going to complain.

(The B-side, for those who are wondering, is typical Aya fare. XD)

MAY is one of my recent little obsessions. She's a Korean singer that has released in Japan. I heard of her when she first came out with her single "WONDERLAND", and I adore it so much. I never really got to listen to her debut album until a few days ago, but I love it! She mostly composes around the acoustic guitar area of pop, and I love her light, airy voice. Her voice is cute and sweet.

The fifth track is a cover of F.I.R.'s song of the same name. She's apparently a fan of F.I.R. since she's also done a cover of Lydia on one of her singles (there's also a PV of it on youtube).

Stephanie is a 20 year old Armenian-Japanese-American singer that sings in Japanese. She is known to have a 5-octave range and hit the whistle register (something Mariah Carey is legendary for). She is a truly amazing artist. Her voice is strong, and the music is upbeat and positve. The ballads are just absolute love, because that is where you hear her range. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I have been dying waiting for this XD And of course it leaked half an hour after I went to bed last night -___-;; but it made for something incredibly awesome to start my day off with this morning!

Although I've known of Big Bang since their first singles, I was never really all that interested. I used to joke that they were "gangsta pop" - something which I still say, but not quite so mockingly these days. When they released Always a year ago, that's when I started to really take notice of these guys. They are awesome, and if you haven't tried them yet then you really should. They're a great mix of hiphop, R&B, dance, pop and electronica, and incredibly talented. I find them to be one of the least manufactured boybands around at the moment - these guys can play instruments and T.O.P and G-Dragon are both excellent song writers. That's what I love most, when singers actually become songwriters and make music instead of only doing what they're given by someone else. I have total respect for that, more than most other things.

This is Big Bang's third mini album, and my love for these guys has done nothing but get bigger and bigger in this past year so much so that right now I'm pretty much exploding with love for these guys XD Stand Up has totally met my expectations, this is a great mini album.

Haru Haru is the main track, and omg. I love it. Written by G-Dragon, it's reminiscent of Geojitmal / Lies, which was the song that made me sit up and take notice. And the MV for it ... omg. Talk about mangst (manly angst XD). If you're only going to try one song from this mini album, then try Haru Haru.

And if you're a fan of punk band No Brain, you'll want to give Oh My Friend a listen XD I seriously did not think that No Brain and Big Bang could go together (punk and hiphop?!), but they've proved me wrong with that. Totally different from Big Bang's usual style but I love how these guys aren't afraid to experiment and mix it up with new things.

I've been a fan of Hinouchi Emi ever since she released this album, and I was devastated when she disapeared from the Jpop scene for awhile (mostly doing back-up vocals for Heartsdales). However, she came back last and this year with three new singles. Emi is mostly a R&B-pop singer. :) For some reason, all of the versions of this album I could find on the internet only had 1-14, and the last track was "Get up!" instead of the Crazy Ken Band version of "Magic". This should be the right tracklist :). Her music is mostly a lighter, poppier R&B sound.

This is Cheon Sang Ji Hee's first Korean album. I like this album a lot more than Graceful 4, the Japanese album they released a few months after this one.

This album's got a good mix of faster songs and slower songs, dance driven pop songs that capture their energy and slower, pretty ballads that really show off those voices of theirs. It's just a really good, solid album, and I think it's really worth checking out if you haven't heard Cheon Sang Ji Hee before. They really are one of the few girl bands that I enjoy ^^

Favourites on this have to be Hanbeon Deo, OK? (the file itself is named wrong but labelled right, sorry!), which is just awesome even if the beginning always does confuse me because it sounds just like the start of Dong Bang Shin Gi's 'O'-Jung.Ban.Hap, and RENEW is also a pretty cool song. Anigireul (Not To Be) is one of the ballads, it's so so pretty, and Haruman (Just For One Day) features Super Junior's Kyuhyun in another pretty ballad.

In any case, an enjoyable violinist. Some of her songs are rather gorgeous. :) Try her out if you enjoy violin or classical music in general!

Ahh, Cheon Sang Ji Hee ... my guilty little pleasure :3

This is their latest (and sixth) Japanese single, and I really love it! Stand Up People is a really catchy dance number, while Dear Friend is a mid-tempo ballad, quite laidback compared to Stand Up People. I'm not too fond of Dear Friend as a song, but their voices are gorgeous in it.

I also really love the Royal Mirrorball Mix of One More Time, OK?. Its so fun XD

Honestly, I recommend anyone give these girls a try. Unlike a lot of female pop groups, Cheon Sang Ji Hee can actually do that little thing known as singing, something that a lot of other female groups often tend to fail at, at least for the first year or two. I find their voices really rich and gorgeous, they don't grate on my ears at all and they're such a pleasure to listen to.

Ahhh I love this single/minialbum whatever you want to call it. Neon Naui Cheonguk is a really cute little pop song, it makes me feel so good XD and Find is really gorgeous, a string backed ballad *O* It's the best song on here, it's so damn pretty. Gomapda, Hyunjoong's solo song, is also really nice.

If you haven't heard SS501 before, you should give this a try :D It's a little bit different from their earlier stuff, in some ways I feel like this is a much more "mature" sound which I'm really pleased to hear from them, because it shows what they can really do :3

Sorry for the posts D: 2 in as many days! I actually uploaded this for somewhere else but thought I'd share it too. I absolutely love this single. It's kind of pop with some accoustic guitar mixed with rap. Lisa's voice is absolutely amazing but she seems to be ignored, which is a shame. I'm addicted to this single at the moment because it's just such a nice song.

The last one claims to be an instrumental but isn't!

Gah. I got this album after it was random recommended to me on amazon and, well, the cover caught my eye and I decided to give it a go. I am seriously so glad I did! I cannot recommend this album highly enough. She's a horrible person, I'm not going to lie. I watched the episode of Doctor Phil (legend) with her on and he's completely right when he calls her "snotty". Ignoring that, she's got a really good voice and her songs are really strong. Her lyrics are amazing too.

You might end up hating it. It took me a few listens to truly appreciate and love it but I'm so glad I took that time XD

I realised the other day that it is an absolute travesty that I haven't uploaded more albums by one of my favourite artists. So here I am, bringing you a Nic Tse album I really, really love. This is a compilation of some of Nic's Mandarin music (pre-2002, nothing very recent). Despite being a compilation, I love this one, it includes some of my absolute favourite Nic songs ever. I'd never even heard of this album either, until a friend bought it for me in Hong Kong, and am I ever glad that she did 8D

This compilation features some absolutely incredible songs, I had such a hard time picking the individual ones for sampling, I really did, I wanted to give a broad example for those not sold on this yet but....I think I just ended up picking my favourites 8D; Anyway! This has a pretty good selection, ballads (some beautiful ones, and I made sure to include 舊傷口 (Jou Shang Kou) as a sample, absolutely gorgeous track, this one. There's also some more 'dramatic' type slower tempo songs on here, what I usually tend to think of as 'rock ballads', like 281公里 (281km) which everyone should get because this may very well be my second favourite Nic song in the universe. Actually, I may tell a lie because 不耐煩 might also be my second favourite Nic song ever, and this one is a faster tempo song and really really awesome and just, awesome. You should all also make sure you get this one too, if nothing else!

Whatever song type, there's almost always the definite underlying feeling of rock music, because that is Nic and what he does best. So even if you think 'oh ew I don't really like Cantopop/Mandopop', Nic's music, the more recent albums, are not like that. He is cool, and rocky, and awesome. And this compilation has some excellent songs. *-* And, I'm sorry I have no romanisations for the track list, there seem to be none floating around.

Anyway, get it, love it and be converted to the awesome that is Nic!

alan's first album was released back in 2005 (before her first Japanese single), and is a Chinese cover album of various Chinese songs. I personally only know 童话 (Tong Hua) by Guang Liang, but she covers it with an interesting traditional twist. I'm assuming she did the same thing to the rest of the contemporary Chinese artists that I recognize on the list. :P In any case, it's alan. In Chinese. Nice stuff. Hitomi Shimatani's new album, Flare, is absolute love. I thought PRIMA ROSA was great, and I wasn't disappointed with this album! I love how she incorporates the 80's-90's J-Pop sound, along with some Latin influences, with the new, modern J-Pop sound. She makes this combination win. And her voice is lovely, as always. :) The album has a very summery feel to it, and it made me smile, so it was definitely one of the highlights of my day yesterday. I just may buy it...

Lyrico is one of my favourite vocalists in the Jpop world. She has a very strong vocal reminiscent of Diva voices. This is her first album as "Lyrico" (she had previous released music under her real name, Tsuyuzaki Harumi -- all of these albums under her real name are impossible to find, unless you count her latest "BEST" album). Even if I don't particularly like this album as much as the other two I have, this one still shows just have good of a vocalist Lyrico is. I'm posting this one first since I just ripped it from the album I just recently bought :D. The old version on my computer had weird static sounds on the tracks, especially "Tears in Christmas" :x, so I ripped it to replace the old version on my computer. :D Either way, strong voice. :D Hope you enjoy!

I decided to post one of my favourite L'Arc~en~Ciel albums, just because I can 8Dv

I love this album to bits, it's great. A little different from their older style but that's what I always liked about L'Arc~en~Ciel, that their sound was always changing and evolving while still keeping a certain something that made it theirs.

New World is a great track to open with, and one of my favourites off this album. It's fast, it's upbeat, it makes you want to bounce around and 3 years on it still makes me feel that same rush that it used to. Joujoushi will always be on the list of Laruku's pretty songs, and I'm generally a sucker for Laruku ballads. AS ONE is hardcore and heavy and awesome, probably the heaviest song on the album since the rest are either ballads, or fast and upbeat. Hoshizora is also one of my favourites on this album, another pretty Laruku ballad.

I'm sure a whole ton of you have heard this album and/or group before, but if not then do give them a try! I've loved them for a few years now, though admittedly certain K-Pop bands have taken over most of my attention, but Laruku are still really high on my list and will always be special to me.

And on the other end of the spectrum, here's the debut single from JYP's four member boyband. I quite like this single, though it's very much on the slow side. If you like slower R&B songs, you might like this - if you like your music faster then this might not hold your attention. I like the first song the most, but the second song is also quite nice. I absolutely hate the third song though (... I swear it's tradition, or something, that I have to absolutely HATE at least one song on pretty much every single album or single in existence).

They have nice voices though, nothing too amazing but certainly not hard on the ears at all.

Vienna Teng is by far my favourite artist ever. She as a soft, soothing alto voice that I really like, and most of her music is based around the piano. Her songs are well-written musically and lyrically, and I find a lot of her music to be really heartfelt and emotional. The first album is a good place to start with her since I find most people like that album the most. I personally like the second album the most because it's a bit more varied in styles. The second and third albums are my own personal rips (I don't have the first album yet), and the second album is the international release, so it has two extra live tracks ("Boy at the Piano" is uploaded separately for those who want it). The third one is a bit more creative and unique in comparison to the other two. Highly recommended!

Summary: I think most people know One Republic from their song with Timbaland. This is their album and I have to say Apologize without Timbaland is much better (nothing against him love him to pieces but ey). The entire album is mind blowing, the songs are beautiful, emotional and the type of rock I absolutely love and enjoy. I really do recommend listening to this. If you aren't sure listen to the preview song as it is my fav song on the album.

Hitomi Yaida is one of my very favorite Jpop artists. She is a soft-rock, guitar-driven artist with a high voice that she knows how to use to her advantage. She also writes her own lyrics and music, definitely something I love in a solo artist. She also has UK releases under her nickname Yaiko, and has had some success over there. This is her first best-of album, containing the A-sides of her first 11 singles. I particularly like B'coz I Love You, My Sweet Darlin' (which has been covered a few times), Look Back Again, Over the Distance, and Andante. I highly recommend her, especially if you like YUI and Ai Otsuka.

I love this album SO MUCH. Rocket Diary were a pretty random find - after I read KoME's interview with them, I got really really curious about them. I had no idea what to expect (my experience of anything even loosely labelled as 'punk rock' has been screamy thrashy noise that I can't stand), but I was really curious, so I gave them a shot.

And I am so glad that I did!

Their music is upbeat, and some of the songs are just really fun, they make you want to jump up and down along with them. It's really easy to listen to, not too heavy but also not too pop, and definitely not screamy or thrashy.

I recommend each of the songs I uploaded (and the album as a whole!), but my favourites are definitely Tonight and She Makes Me Cry.
