More DOS Days?

I have got to stop neglecting my communities. I am a terrible mod. D:

Anyway, silvercables brought up a good point a while back. I really think there should be more DOS days - I think we can do more with more time to work on things.

I'm thinking bimonthly, which would make the next DOS day February 18th. Is this good for everybody?

Several Things

First of all, thanks. Y'all are absolutely amazing. I'd like to remind you there are still several more hours left in the day~~~

Secondly, we've had several people request to join the dA account. They're from raedyn-l, Kagemarukorik, and SilverEmerald-DAS. We've also had a request from a group called Kairi-Supporters to join them. What do you all think? Yes or no?

Finally, SilverCables brought up a good point - do we want to have more post days? If so, when and how often?

Let me know what you think, and thanks again to everybody!

SO.

Drown Out Stupid Day is on the eighteenth. (That's the day after tomorrow for those of you who haven't been keeping track.) Hopefully everybody knows what they're doing and has it ready to go (or at least close). There's just one more thing I'd like from you all: a list of participants.

If you're participating, please leave me a comment and tell me you are. If you still haven't received the passwords for the FFN and dA accounts, then comment and I'll get them to you.

Reason behind this is, I'm going to make the dA profile sometime tomorrow, and I'd like to be sure I've got everybody's names correct (and your individual ffn and dA accounts linked, so if you want those up, let me know).

So. You want credit, you tell me you're in. Simple, no?

Thanks again to everybody! I'm really looking forward to Monday. KH fandom, look out... >:D

Date Change!

First off, I would love to thank everyone for participating in Drown Out The Stupid aka DOTS day. I didn't think so many people would have taken part in it! It just started off as something I was going to do for myself because I was on the verge of leaving fandom, but a few friends thought the idea would be good for everyone at the rant comm. to try since we get plunnied SO OFTEN there, but not all of us necessarily have the time to do anything with all those bunnies hopping around. Thus, we make an official day to take all those awesome ideas/things not to do/things not often seen in fandom, and try to put it out there to show it CAN be done and done right.

However, several of you have contacted me and asked to have the date changed from December 1st to a later date for various valid reasons, and I'm totally with you guys on that. Chyeah, I don't know what I was smoking when I said December first knowing damn well being an art major they were going to whore my skills for final projects around this time xD. I also kinda forgot about stuff like NaNo and other assignments for school because you know how they love to pile work towards the end of the year RIGHT before break :P Sooo....

What should the new date be?

I wanna say sometime after the 13th (so that way anyone participating in all those Larxene days can do that without rushing anything for this can do so, or shoot, maybe you end up doing something for those days that could be for this? Who knows? Larxene needs more love!), and that's about an additional two weeks after the original date, anyways.

The 15th sounds good just because it's a nice sounding number to me, but I don't know xD. What do you guys think?

So I decided to try a new style, fandom, and concept all at once. ^^;; Yes, I know I'm an idiot. Please tell me anything I did wrong. And if anyone could suggest a new title, that'd be awesome. ^^

Title: The Way It Used To Be
Characters: Demyx, other Organization members, Sora
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: mild spoilers for CoM and KH2

I miss the way Organization XIII used to be, in the beginning before everything fell apart at the seams. The way it used to be, when we were still one big, dysfunctional family, and there weren’t any subgroups or cliques plotting to take over. I miss that, especially now that everything’s gone to hell. Half of us are dead, and the rest are just trying to survive.

I miss the days when the Superior actually thought about us, cared a little about our existence. Before, when the Organization wasn’t quite complete yet, and he was still trying to get all of us our hearts back When he wasn’t sacrificing us left and right for his own personal gain.

I miss the times when you could mention Roxas’s name to Axel and not have him breathe fire. I miss the way it was, just the three of us. I remember the way Axel would drag Roxas all over the place, saying that they were “best friends” and needed to hang out together. I was always tagging along behind the two, and they let me because Axel couldn’t see the harm and Roxas didn’t care.

I miss how Xigbar, in his own way, looked after everyone. I miss the way he would always muss up my hair and call me “Kid.” Most of all, I miss the way he would listen to me when I was “upset.” Nowadays, he doesn’t talk to the newer members anymore, and when he does talk to me, he treats me like a complete stranger.

I miss Marluxia’s garden, and how he’d let me tend to it sometimes, when he was feeling generous. The garden was everything we weren’t, cheerful and blooming with life. It always calmed me, made me tranquil, when I sat in the middle of all the flowers and plants and trees and relaxed. I guess it reminded me of what it was like to have a heart, and what it would be like when we got them back. The garden isn’t there anymore, though. It died soon after Marluxia did. The flowers wilted, one by one, and then the plants and trees died. Try as I might, I couldn’t save them, and I had to watch as my last source of comfort withered away before my eyes.

I miss the days when the original six still talked to us neophytes. I miss the times when they didn’t judge us for how and when we were created. I hate the atmosphere around the Castle That Never Was these days; the tension is thick enough to cut with a knife. I wish I could still play my sitar without fear of one of the other members snapping and turning on me. I want to go back to the time when we were all bound together by out differences, our defect, and didn’t exist in constant distrust of the others.

So I'll fight the Keybearer. Because, even though I know that nothing will be the same again, I need to have something to hope for, something to aim towards. And if that means I have to lie to myself about what is really happening, if that means that I will die as something I’m not, believing in something I don’t, then so be it. I’ll keep a smile on my lips, pretend to have a heart, even though I realize now that I never will. And no-one, especially not the Keybearer, will take my dream – my fantasy – from me.

^^ First post!

Ok, "Drown Out the Stupid" day is a great idea, and I will be sending in a piece of fanart of an female OC who DOES wield a Keyblade, and a fanfiction based around that OC's adventures in support of the movement... The only difference between my fanfiction/art and a fantwit's will be that, well, mine won't suck. Maybe.

Also, I might be sending in a doujinshi for something I found on kh_drabble, but which drabble exactly will be kept a secret, because I will probably not finish. D= Let's keep that one under wraps for now.

Anyway, what I'm here for, really, is crit on the design on my OC.

I have a few things I'd like to run past you guys.

1. I tried to use as much as Nomura's style as possible. If she's going to be a character in Nomura's world, I figure she'd better be in Nomura's style too. Similar body structures, hair design (although I think her hair turned out more FFVIII era XD), big hands and shoes, lots of buckles and belts and zippers and god knows what else. I even tried his style of line-value... although I don't think that got across too well in pencil. XD So, how did I do, in that sense?

2. Yes, there is a crease in the paper. Yes, I will fix that. XD

3. No, she doesn't start out with that outfit. She gets shanghai'd from her part-time job as a hotel room service maid, and, well, long story short, she has had to find so many seamstresses/tailors who have done so many alterations on her maid uniform (for free, too, which is really difficult in her fanon-time period) that they are literally a wreck by the time the Blue Fairy (yes, that Blue Fairy) decides to have pity on her and spruce up her clothes, which is currently about halfway through the story. But, that's not really the point. XD How is her clothing design? Anything I should add or erase?

4. The pole is connected to a banner, KHI Sora style.

5. The whole thing is going to be colored in Painter, and the color scheme is as follows: her hair and eyes are dark brown, fair skin color, maybe a little tan (because she's spent some time in the sun by this point), and the rest of her clothes are shades of green and brown with white as general liner. Any metal on her is brass.

... I guess what I'm asking is, how did I do on my first OC since my LOTR days? XD;

Three Subjects:

The First: Tagging.

Please tag your entries as either Art, Fiction, Other, Question, or Comment. (The tag "The Plan" is reserved for moderator use and denotes any changes to the event or the community. Any ideas you may have for the community or the event should be categorized under "Comment.")

The Second: Art Stuffs

First of all, please place your art under cuts with previews if you'd like. Be nice to our friends with dialup internet.

Secondly, we need a community layout - this generic one isn't really doing it for me, and I'd like to make this community special (as I'm sure you all would). We also need some community icons, and a Deviant ID for our deviantART account. Would anybody be interested in making those?

If so, go ahead and post your creations in this community. Please label them (Deviant ID, Icons, Layout) in the title and tag them as Art in the Tags section. We'll vote on which ones we want to use during the last week of November, so I'm afraid there's not a lot of time for all this.

The Third: Fiction Stuffs

When posting fiction, please put a header before it and place the fiction itself under a cut. The heading is:
Title:
Characters:
Rating:
Spoilers:
Please fill it out accordingly.

This is all easy stuff - I just feel like I have to say it to make it official.

Thanks for your creativity!

Hey Everybody! Welcome to the Community!

Hello everybody! For those of you whom I know from KHFFR, great to see you here! For those of you whom I don't, nice to meet you!

So you've all already read the community info (and if you haven't, what are you waiting for?), and you should have a pretty good idea of what this community's about. For those of you who wish for more details, your lazy mod refers you to The Plan as posted in KHFFR, Parts One and Two.

Questions? Comments? Concerns? Ideas? Well, that would be why this community came into being - for you to post all of those and get some feedback.

Also, if you have a piece that you're not sure is good enough to be posted as part of the event - first of all, it probably is. Secondly, if you really want the feedback, this is the place to post it. After all, we're all in this together.

We do indeed have Fanfiction.net and deviantART accounts. Anybody who wants the passwords to them, leave a comment on this entry and I'll get back to you. (Even if you've already commented in the posts in KHFFR and received the passwords, please comment in here again and let me know - I'd like to keep a list so I know how many people we have participating.)

Finally, credit where credit is due - the entire idea of Drown Out Stupid day was the brainchild of princeali_m_fan. Many thanks to her for the awesome idea, and let's see if we can make it happen!
