Update 11/9/2009:  We are likely going to add two additional dachshunds to this transport for a total of thre dachshunds.  The two additions will get on at Leg #2 and get off at the end of Leg #6.

Transport assistance is needed in order to get Baby from her temporary foster home in Minneapolis, MN to her approved foster home in CT.  She has secured a ride from Akron, OH to CT but needs to arrive in Akron by 10:00am EST on Sunday, November 15th, therefore the legs are not flexible and have been designed to get her there on time.

Details under cut, from an email sent out tonight from Molly Quinn, transport coordinator. (My apologies that the text has too many spaces and indentations and thus is not very convenient to read through: that's the way Molly writes 'em in the emails she sends out. Looks like she treats her computer like a typewriter. :-) In the past I've edited the text and spacing before posting, but that takes me way too long and we need to get the word out sooner rather than later. So please be patient, read through it, and see if you can take a leg of this trip.)

And if any of you are on any yahoo transport groups, permission to cross-post this, please and thank you!

Hi All

I've agreed to take a senior rabbit from Fargo, ND. Anyone know of any transports heading from ND/MN towards IL/IN that I might be able to hitch this guy a ride with?

Thanks!
Nichole

I've been scanning this community for a while, looking for drives that I could participate in. However, the majority of the drives I've seen here are all on the east coast. Is there a community specific to the west coast? If we're getting specific, in the San Diego area?
I want to do my part, but haven't found a chance. Thanks.

I'm very sorry to report that Nibbles, the 3 month old black lab rescued from a kill shelter in KY and part of a 10 dog, 5 puppy across four states rescue transport that happened over the weekend. . .

did not make it tonight. He passed a few hours ago from complications of Parvo.

If you donated, please know that it will be well used to defray his costs. . .and whatever is left will help the next "Nibbles." And there will always be a next one.

Donate to help Nibbles conquer Parvo.

(Did you know: Black dogs are the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized in shelters!)

Nibbles is a 3 month old puppy saved by Black Dog Second Chance NO KILL shelter from a kill shelter this past weekend -- only to be faced with death a second time from the deadly PARVO virus. Nibbles is the sweetest puppy ever, and loves to give kisses.

She is currently in the Orchard Park Emergency Vet undergoing treatment for Parvo, a very serious and deadly virus. Her estimated 3-5 day stay is $1600-$2100 for her recovery. She made it through the first night, though it was an uphill battle for her, which proves to us that she is a fighter. She is doing her part, so now it's ours: financial responsibility to help her survive. We are currently planning fundraising activities for the future, but the need for money is now. The bills are starting to rack up and we're not sure how long she'll be there. We know the economy is poor, but if you are able to reach deep into your pockets and spare even a dollar, we would very much appreciate it.

Need kind people in texas to help transport an 12/13 week old rescued dal puppy from Port Lavaca, TX to dallas or if possible abilene. I am in maine, but my sister is in abilene and is due to fly home around the end of september, and will care for the pup until he can get to his forever home. If anyone... can help or knows of anyone who can help please contact me at jlstadler@yahoo.com, yahoo messanger jlstadler, or here on live journal or under johanna stadler on facebook. I am desperate to get this pup home. Can't afford to pay for your time, but I can reimburse gas and tolls if you will accept paypal, if not I am sure my sister will be able to settle up with you.

I am on disability, and lost my 13 year old dallie on the 21st, I racked up a 750+ dollar vet bill, so it is just so tight, but I digress...this pup is just what the doctor ordered. The 13 year old biological brother of the female is in deep mourning and a puppy would give him something other than the loss of his sister to think about.

thats the pup in the picture.

thanks
