Barack Obama owes his political career to sex clubs

cagekitten...

Apparently Barack Obama originally was running against Jack Ryan for Illinois state senate in 2004. Jack Ryan was a very handsome, millionaire married to one of Hollywood's most gorgeous actresses. You may remember his wife as Seven of Nine on Star Trek:

Before his political career, Jack Ryan gave up his million dollar job in finance to be a teacher at an inner city school. In 2004 he won the Republican primary and was running against Obama for the seat in the senate. But the press was curious about his divorce from Jeri Ryan and the custody records and couldn't get to the custody records because they were sealed. Jack Ryan had argued during the custody proceedings that it could be damaging to his son to find out why Jeri was asking for custody. The judge agreed and the records remained sealed. But a newspaper sued to get access to the custody records, and so a judge released them. That's when it all started to unravel.

In the records, Jeri Ryan claimed that her husband took her to sex clubs and it make her uncomfortable. He took her in New York and to one club in Paris. She said the Paris club made her so uncomfortable that she cried and left.

When this became public, Jack's advisers told him it would blow over. But it didn't. Oddly enough, you can cheat on your spouse and still be elected or keep your office. But god forbid you should take your wife with you to explore your sexual options, apparently people can't handle that. The controversy would not die down and Jack Ryan had to withdraw his candidacy. His last minute replacement lost the election to Obama.

The rest is history.

  What the...?

orbitaldiamonds...

About fifteen minutes ago, all the loudspeakers on post played "Reveille." What the fuck? And why at six-thirty in the morning? And why now? Well, why only in the last few weeks? Yeah, we know there's a big deployment coming up soon, but HONESTLY. It's fucking SATURDAY and people with sane sleep schedules (i.e. not me) are trying to sleep here!

  When it rains...

danoke...

Yeah, so totally pouring right now. It's supposed to be like this all day. Hopefully it will clear up by this evening. Or at least let up a bit. The wind doesn't seem to be moving much yet. The trees outside are unnaturally still. This is the first big storm that we've had in a while. The hurricanes seem to have laid off of us in recent years. Isabel was horrible to my part of the town. I wasn't living here, but since we are right on the water, it was pretty bad during that storm. The town right down the street from me suffered so much damage. Hopefully this won't be too bad.

Playhouse Disney is all Mickey, all day. Apparently the new show, Imagination Movers, premieres today. The show looks like a cooler Wiggles. Should be good. I should just turn off the TV, but my son isn't letting me. :) But we have been doing other things as well. I went through all of his winter clothes to see what I could get rid of and what he would need. He shouldn't need much. Most of his shirts from last year should fit for at least the first part of the fall and winter. I had to pull out some of his pants, but I just recently bought him some. I'm sure that some people will get him some clothes for his birthday, so I really am not going to worry about buying anything more. If anything, I'll get him some sweaters and such. Most of his shirts are just long sleeved t-shirts or polos. (wow...Mickey is getting harder! He's teaching about fractions today!)

I've cleaned off my one desk in the living room. It had become a dumping ground for things that I didn't want to deal with at the time. Next on the list is to empty the dishwasher and load it with what dirty dishes I have. Clean off the coffee bar...that's where most of the mail and other misc. papers and catalogs are living. (Mickey is also dealing with times two!)

Chris should be back around noon tomorrow. His parents are coming down to meet him. We'll probably go get something to eat as well.

I know one thing...I'll be taking a nap during Carter's today. I'm just so tired today. I stayed up watching that Dogtown show on National Geographic. It was all about the dogs from Michael Vick's dog fighting ranch. It just made me so sad to see those poor dogs. One of the girls, Georgia, had all of her teeth removed. At first, they thought she lost them during fights, but when they x-rayed her and saw that there were no fragments anywhere, they realized that the teeth were professionally removed. They did that so they could forcefully breed her. They found what they call a rape stand at the kennels. They strap the female dog into this and have the stud mount her without her consent. How horrible is that?!?! Luckily, she was a really sweet dog and responded very well to the trainers and handlers. But, I set a series recording for this show. It seems to be one that I would really enjoy. That's one thing I wouldn't mind doing. Running a rescue shelter. We'll have to see!

Okay, Mickey Mouse is scaring me now...all of the gang is hanging out in a big tub with bubble bath. Hmm...what is Disney teaching my son? :) Oh speaking of Disney...my friend from work, Lauren, just got back from DisneyWorld. I had given her some money to get Carter something. She came back with a Trick or Treat bucket and a shirt. The bucket is a pumpkin with Mickey's face that glows in the dark and his ears. Very cute. The shirt has all of the Pixar characters surrounding Mickey and Goofy and Donald. He'll love it.

Okay, I'm sleepy. I better get up and moving before I fall asleep.

Current mood: sleepy.
Current music: Disney.

It has been thundering and lightning all night, I could feel the building shake with the thunder; it was pretty cool.

Found out on my flist ([info]twiheads) that Twilight is going to have a Twilight Collectors Edition published but I don't know what different it will have. Velvet cover maybe? mmmm; I'd buy that. *grins*

Also found this new True Blood promo on my Flist ([info]trueblood_tv):

I got my Bella Rocks cd today, woot! One of my favorite songs on that cd is "My Decision", i just love it. =)

I just love having new music on my shuffle to listen to, and new Twilight music, well, that's just THE BOMB. *grins* I know, I'm crazy but it distracts me from the ugliness of the world when I can listen to stuff like this, when I'm at work entering cases.

True Blood is coming on Sunday night!! HBO! I'm reading "Dead Until Dark" now just to help me gear up for it.

Really quick entry, as I really ought to get to bed now. *is tireeeed*

Someone, please tell me why I still sometimes visit the IMDB boards. >_< I think I've actually lost a few of my brain cells whilst reading some of the bollocks in there. XD

Also, I just visited a TV-related forum, only to wander straight into a thread degenerating from on-topic discussion into an off-topic console war between elitist fanbrats, basically consisting of "Console A is superior and you're just stupid for liking Console B and you're obviously not a true gamer" and vice versa.

*eyes up all of her assorted consoles and keeps out of it*

XD Oh, forums.

Current mood: thirsty.
