Sweet n' Sour

Classes started and I'm happy they did. It's nice to have structure again. X3

So far I know that I like one of my profs. I don't think I dis-like any of my profs yet.... There's one I'm not sure about. Reading his syllabus scared me, but when he talks he's sounds super nice. Which one do I trust?! (o_o)

I did a painstaking search for SMU's Tokushima program. I'm not sure if what I found is up to date or not though because I didn't see any advertisments for it like I did last year. I was reading The Coast and saw an advertisment for TESL teaching positions in Japan from a school I had never heard of. They're called Amity and I may apply with them if I don't get accepted for the school in Tokushima (there's only two positions available). Even if I do get accepted I might do a switch to Amity when the contract for the school in Tokushima is up. Amity has schools closer to Osaka than Tokushima and I want to hang out with Masayo. (T_T)

So Hanna came and went and did pretty much nothing here. I think downtown got flooded because, well, it's below sea level to begin with. Here, though, it just rained a lot, but nothing flooded so we're good. Now it's a beautiful day and I think I'll go shopping with the money my grandparents sent me for back to school.

It's split into two separate quizzes. The first assigns you a letter (A, B, C, D, E, or F), while the second assigns you, in addition to this, a Japanese syllable. In the end, there's a chart in the back of the book that lets you put together your letter and syllable to find out which special move/character they correspond to. (There'll be 18 possible results, one for each of the 18 distinct combinations of letters and syllables that can be formed.)

Love the AP classes, but I stayed up until 3am writing my chapter outline for APUSH, so I'm really tired. :<
I need to switch into H/AP Chem though. Problem is, the only AP Chem is 1st period and the only H Chem classes are 3rd and 6th period, and I can't switch out of any of those periods. =/ Guess it DOES suck to be in a small school; there's so few classes. >__<;;; And then there's AP Physics during 5th that I could take, but I'm afraid I'll miss a lot of class because on all x-country/swim meet days we have to skip 5th period. :P
Good news is that I talked to my counselor and she's planning on setting up another H chem class 4th period JUST FOR ME!!! XDDD;;; I was whining about not being in honors. ^^;; And I think it's gonna be a small class too. :D

P.S.: I lost that shiny new purple phone. ONE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! T____T;;; I don't think I'm gonna find it or anything, so I ended up getting a new phone. It's the same model as the last, but since that purple color was discontinued, I got a different purple color, called "heather grape". XD It's a purplish-gray color, and I like it. :3 Even though it's quite the opposite from that super dark purple-purple phone. XD

I got dragged clothes shopping by my mom yesterday. We almost never shop, let alone for clothes()except when we're in China), so that was a first. O_O

The lady in Reitmans asked me if i wanted a job there when we were paying. I figured why not, since I've nothing specific planned anyway for the whole month, i might as well work a bit. She immediately offered me to fill in the form and come back for interview on Wednesday.

O_O I never wanted to work in clothing shop. I usually avoid them like plague. O_O
But hey, they offered....
And the girls there are really cool. Might as well make so monies to pay back all my cosplay expenses this year~ XD
I think I might bring in my CV anyway and go see if the bookstore in the mall also need people. O_O *feels like traitor*

I started it this morning, intending to read a few chapters. I never managed to put it down. =___= Yes, i finished it.

Marc Levy is king of witty conversations and fantastically vivid characters. I adore the way they banter, and never tire of his pun-y choice of words. He makes reading french a real pleasure, since he is able to bring out all the beautiful and fun subtilities(sp?? while i fail to spell correct english) of the language.
Somehow, I always fall for his "best friend" type guys~ XD They are just soo lovable~ ♥

If you are francophone, are learning french, or can read french at all, DEFINITELY read this novel. Or any other novel of his. They are simply delicious.

(And Dreamer, we get Antoine and Mathias cameos!! 8DDDD When they were young and carefree and full of facepalm~ XD I was stupid enough to not catch on until much too late~ :P )

Everytime he writes a new novel, i think it's my favorite, but his next one is ALWAYS BETTER. *bows to true talent*

If I started offering original fic commissions, would any of you be interested? I've been writing nonfiction online articles for Textbroker.com for a few weeks now, but that type of freelancing is a bit... unsatisfying, I guess? So hikaridonya suggested that I should write this feeler post and find out whether I could make the same kind of money doing something I actually enjoy.

Prices aren't set in stone. I want to know whether they seem reasonable, exorbitant, whatever. Basically, I was thinking:
100 words - $1
500 words - $2
1000 words - $5
Every 1000 words above the first thousand - $5

Um, the prices might seem kind of random, but I have my own logic behind them. 500 word ficlets are the easiest for me to write, followed by 1000 words and up, and then 100 word drabbles. I won't do fanfiction commissions, because while I feel okay writing in someone else's universe for charity, making a profit from it seems kind of morally reprehensible.

Sometimes I wish I had a slightly more marketable talent. >.>

So, tropical storm Hanna is coming my way which means I may or may not lose power some time today or tomorrow. It shouldn't be too bad, it's not making landfall here - or it's not supposed to - so we'll just get winds and rain. Dad's mostly worried about the very large pines around the house that might fall on it if the winds are strong enough.

Ah... ITM I'm downoading like 3 concerts freom them and I already watched one... OMFG I want to go to a concert  like that!!!!

So...does anyone else listen repeatedly to a song/album/artist/whatever while reading a pairing/character/fandom/genre and then end up associating the two for eternity? It's happened to me three times now (that I can remember off the top of my head, anyway).

1. Massive Attack - Teardrop
I listened to this song on repeat while reading Tallis (the 170+ part JuC&Trickyfish fantasy AU) at 3 in the morning, hoping my mother wouldn't wake up and be angry with me for sneaking out of bed. Now whenever I hear it, I always remember sitting in the dark and reading that fic. :3

2. JYONGRI - POSSESSION
While I was into this song, I was searching obsessively for Shunsui/Jyuushirou fic. Now I can't hear it without thinking of them. It kind of makes sense, in a way. When I hear the lyrics "You are my possession", I think about how they are completely each other's, and it fits.

3. 蕭亞軒 - 表白
This just happened a few days ago. -_- I was reading a fairly long Neji/Naruto WIP while listening to this song, which is super catchy. And then it turned out the fic was probably the best I've read of the pairing *O* (the fact it totally had my kinks done well wasn't that big of a factor, okay, the fic itself tore my heart out with the tangibility of the emotions within it, the love and longing and ;o;). So now I think of Neji longing after Naruto and it makes my heart ;o;. Plus the title of the song means "telling you my romantic feelings", so.

Oh god, this thing is so pic heavy it's not even funny, I'll put up links later to the dating games once both are uploaded fully, suffice to say both were successes--yes!

Our skit did pretty good, like we apparently broke a rule which prevented us from placing don't worry Raimi's already raged enough as it is about it, so no more from her on the matter but we still got some compliments about it nonetheless and hey, it may bring in some new fans~

...Argh, and now I go to collapse from fatigue. This con was SO busy, it almost blows my mind how many cosplay changes I did. For reals, I'm so going to slow down my schedule next year, I barely got to see anyone I wanted too, but I did meet some awesome people regardless, most of the Dating Game participants: both all ages and 18+ as well, as kula and flauta_de_pollo were awesomeness.

Kay now Raimi goes to bed, cause she is beat and has only tomorrow off...
