    The Last Ever Dreadnought
I have a hangover. Hands up who else has a hangover? Good.

This means the Last Ever Dreadnought was a success. A huge thanks goes to everyone who came - we've had a fantastic time running it for the last year and hope you enjoyed yourselves just as much.

    Dreadnought 8.0 - Friday January 19th
    Pre-pre-pre-announcement

Last time it seems that our promotion was a bit... well, lacking. I've been busy with a new job and Matt's trying to rebuild the bombsite that was James & Abby's flat, and we didn't quite sort out the flyer or even mention to people there was a dreadnought until a few days before. Whoops.

So with the next one we're making up for this! Dreadnought8.0 will be back under the arches at SEOne for the zillionth time on January 19th. 'Real' announcement to follow but by 'eck do we have a good night planned.

DREADNOUGHT 7 - "It's like a Koala crapped a rainbow in my brain!"

"A rat doesn't wear lipstick, okay? A rabbit doesn't use hairspray and a monkey doesn't need pills to get ramped up for hot monkey sex! It's people man, we're miserable! So why shouldn't we try it all first?"

    DREADNOUGHT 7

Hell fucking yeah. We're back on November 17th with DJ's and beer and great music and balloons and a whole other club in the back room. Because we're THAT great. And your presence is required.

    Dreadnought Friday September 29th

Dreadnought (and Strength Through Joy) will be on Friday 29th September between 10pm and 4am at Deep Blue, SEOne, Weston Street SE1 3QX.

We have two dancefloors plus a separate bar. Dreadnought will be playing goth and EBM on the first floor, and Chris Damage and friends from Strength Through Joy will be playing ... erm... the sort of stompy industrial stuff they normally play on the second floor.

    Dreadnought 5: Strength Through Dreadnought
    happened.

Ever noticed how promoters will always tell you their latest night was the biggest, greatest event ever?  When only half a dozen people attended, and half of those were the staff and the other half underage? Promoters do this because they're terrified the rest of you will realise that nobody else was there, that you didn't miss anything and that you won't trouble yourselves with their club ever again.

This was not such an event.  DN5: Strength Through Dreadnought was a major success.  Hundreds of people, some of the best DJ'ing I've ever heard and positively skull-fucking quantities of booze and nitrous oxide.  The venue staff were professional and between STJ and Dreadnought we threw one hell of a party.

Thanks to our DJ's for making it such a great evening.  Particularly to Psyche who's kind-of-retiring now.  We love you all.

I've uploaded a few pictures from the night here.

    We'll be back in October.

    pre-dreadnought pub meet
For those of you who work in town and don't want to kill several hours before clubbing: many likeminded people will be drinking at the Old Thameside Inn.  It's a 5 minute stumble from SEOne.

Oh, and ye may rejoyce and be thankful - we've sacked the annoying toilet attendants.

DREADNOUGHT: "TWO FLOOR TWO CLUB SPESHUL"

You heard it right. Like dodgy landlords we're shoehorning Dreadnought into a single room and giving the other to our partners in crime, Strength Through Joy. You'll get one floor of our finest EBM, goth, 80's & fuck knows what else, and another of STJ's stampy stampy industrial fun. This is a one-off & never to be repeated!

    August 18th. 10pm - 4am. Deep Blue @ SeOne, Weston Street SE1 3QX

I'd cross-post this to MySpace too only I can't because it's shit. In fact everyone on MySpace will be jeered at before we let them in.

    DN4 post-mortem: "the best night of 2006"
Coo, wasn't that a blaze of mayhem. A bazillion thankyous to everyone who came and to folk who DJ'ed and helped out on the door, and to SEOne's staff.

From the feedback we've had it appears everybody had fun. Very few teething troubles with the new venue (and what a venue!) and despite a slow start and competition up the road our turnout was fine. The extra space for a 'proper' EBM / bleepy floor proved a godsend and we'll certainly run with two floors again. Certainly we enjoyed ourselves - it's great to run a small club rather than one of the egg-shaped extravaganzas which multiply every month.

Photos from the night are here. If you've anything worth adding zip them up & mail a copy to mock@dreadnoughtclub.co.uk
