Do they actually think that anyone still buys the notion that: a) The government is somehow controlled by a "Liberal Elite", despite the fact that we've had a Republican in the White house for the last eight years, a Republican majority in Congress for five out of those eight years, and a right-leaning Supreme Court for longer than that, or b) as stated in my facebook status update, a billionaire son of a millionaire and former governor of my beloved Commonwealth can, with a straight face, accuse the Democrats of being beholden to "East Coast elitists", implying that he himself is some sort of regular joe? Are there still Middle American rednecks who believe that there's a shadow government of Ivy League faculty and Hollywood stars who conspire to outlaw the Bible and "United We Stand" bumper stickers while chomping arugula and sipping lattes, and that the ultra right wing politicians and businessmen who appear to be running the country are merely a façade? The good news and the bad news [03 Sep 2008|09:37pm] shadow_weaver The good news: I'm back home, safe and sound! Also MFM was a success, fun was had and I bought home a ton of home work. The not so good news: the water heater and the upstairs air conditioner have died on us, Thus no hot water and no cold air. This is summer. As ya can imagine it's an oven upstairs right now. Thankfully the air down stairs still works. We are having some one come tomorrow to have a look at it all, but it may cause a slight delay on me getting to work on things right away. In which you find out my old-school loves and I offer comment ficlets again. [03 Sep 2008|03:24pm] neshel Man, I haven't written an old-school fight scene in FOREVER. (Yes, this randomly occured to me today.) There's gonna be some fighting near the end of Understanding, but still... My first RP experience was DBZ based, so half of that was combat, inventive combat, and I loved it. It was hard to find good people to RP with (DBZ is far too easy to god-mode), but there were a few of us who had far too much fun trying to out-invent each other. My Sailor Moon fanfiction could easily have been categorized as action/adventure with a splash of romance. A different kind of fighting, more restrained and categorized, but fun all the same. So how the fuck did I end up writing a plotty angst-romance-character study with hardly any action? *sigh* I just don't know. Clearly I need to get some of this out of my system though. Sylar vs Peter would be the obvious choice, but I've already done a bit of it and will do some more soon enough (I hope) so... Random (Heroes) pairings for fights?
