Does anyone find it odd to be grieving for someone, even though you have only known them for a few weeks?

Or am I just feeling guilty about his death?

((ooc: strikes hackable))

It isn't unusual...

It's hard to really know someone in that short amount of time though...

People can feel sympathy for people they've never met before... It's one of the things that makes us human...

Most would consider that I'm not human anymore.

Ah... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to say that you couldn't feel those same things if you're not human...

No apologies. I'm technically still human, just not what you would call normal.

Normal humans don't live as long as I have.

There are. I can think of a few...

...You can actually get pretty close to someone in a few weeks.

But can you really know them in that short amount of time?

I don't think so. Death is sad, so it would make sense to be upset.

That is true, but I've seen hundreds of people die before, some I've known for even longer, and have not been effected like this.

It's funny how close you get to people when you're in the same situation... especially if it's a life-or-death thing.

I think that's something Dax has right. He can keep on cracking jokes even when the world starts falling down around our ears. Maybe that's the only way to deal with it, sometimes. Other times, though... if sadness was always bad, we probably would have lost the ability to be sad a long time ago.

I find it hard to find humor in many things anymore. But you're right, sometimes you just need to feel sad.

No, it's natural to feel like that sometimes.

Although it could be that as well, Rose-san, I don't know.

I just find it odd...

Or that it's been so long since I had someone to grieve for.

Sometimes we can't even explain our own feelings.

That could be true as well.

True. I think I liked it better when I was alone and didn't have to grieve.

No...even if you didn't know them that well, a few weeks is long enough to know who does, and who suffers the most from their death.
