Loss of another Comic Book Great
Recently I was informed by local comic artist and friend Craig Hamilton that Dave Stevens, creator of the Rocketeer, had passed away. I also found out that he had leukemia and it was probably that which took him from us. Dave contributed much to Dragon*Con and I was lucky enough to hang out with him along with my ex-wife. An incredible artist that believed he could or needed to always improve on his art (which he was an incredible pin up artist) and he was responsible for the revival of Betty Page and her being compensated for her image. Dave Stevens will be missed, whether at Dragon*Con or just his mere existence in this plane of reality.

This is truly sad. I heard a couple of years ago that he was sick. I didn't realize at the time how sick. He was a great artist and a wonderful person (at least to me).

Wow, that sucks:-(

I got to hang out with Brinke Stevens years ago at a comic store I used to manage, when she was promoting her comic. She was really cool.

Dave was an awesome artist.
