This community is for any artists who enjoy working with dragons and have dragon characters of their own. Every month, members can choose to submit a character of their choice to be drawn in response to a post made by the maintainer (

kivaari). Someone is chosen to draw your dragon, and you are chosen to draw someone else's dragon. Secret Santa type deal.[ rules ]
- Each "session" is one month long. Character descriptions are submitted near the beginning of the month in response to a Call to Participants post. Participating members have until the end of the month to complete their work. If your work is not posted by the beginning of the next month, you won't be able to participate in further sessions until your work is presented. If the offense is repeated and you continually never have work to give to your Chosen for three consecutive sessions, you will not able to participate at all.
- Post your work whenever you finish it, behind an LJ-cut (<lj-cut text="My picture.">). If R-rated, please give a warning.
- No bashing of others' work. Positive comments and constructive criticism (if it's asked for) only. Please comment on the artwork you receive, don't just take it and ignore the artist.
- Cardinal rule: Draw as you would like to be drawn. Put time and effort into your work. Artists of all skill levels are welcomed and it is realized that unexpected business can come up during the month and that art blocks always seem to arise at the least convenient times, but if what you submit appears to be a doodle in comparison to your usual work, you will receive a warning. If you repeat the offense, you will be suspended from participation for three sessions or until you present your Chosen with a suitable piece.
- During the month, should you have any questions about your Chosen One, you can post the question(s) in an anonymous reply to their comment on the Call to Participants post. This will allow any confusion over descriptions to be cleared up without giving away your identity and ruining the surprise.
- The maximum rating for images is R. Gore is allowed, as is tasteful nudity. You'll have to go elsewhere if you want pr0n. :P
- Visual art of any kind is allowed. Written work is not, at least for the time being (sorry, writers!).
- Think ahead. If you don't think you'll be able to have your work done in a timely fashion and won't have much time to spend on it, don't enter. There will always be other months in which you can join in. Having large amounts of people ducking out or not turning their artwork in is aggravating and problematic, both for the maintainers and for those who miss out on pictures. Because we know that issues can arise over the course of a month, we offer a one month grace period before you are blacklisted. If you do not receive your art by the end of a given month, you will be adopted out at the end of the next month (due to the afore-mentioned grace period).
- Dragons only. They can be of any type at all, and can be quadrupedal or anthropomorphic. They do not have to look like a stereotypical dragon, our definition is fairly loose; please ask if you're unsure if your character is draconic enough. If you want to do this with other kinds of creatures, head on over to one of our affiliates.
- It is expected that all participating members have read and are aware of these rules. Not knowing about a rule is not a valid excuse for breaking it.
