--- [I'll be blunt: drabbleday is not one of my top priorities, no matter how much fun I have with it. Frankly, I'm too busy at college to log in memories, especially now that I've been absent and have 50+ to put in.
So, I've decided to just forget about the memories.
I know. This means there will be little to no organization. But, frankly, I don't have it in me to be that active.
As much as it pains me to say, the only thing I'll really do from now on is answer questions and approve requests. I'm not even going to monitor the rules (besides the general be polite, etc.). This is just going to be a fun community where you post and enjoy yourselves. I think this is for the best.
Thank you for all the support and love, guys. You'll still see me around for requests and all that jazz. I hope everyone stays, despite this community no longer being really regulated.

After being thoroughly sucked into the writing challenges that permeate LJ, your humble manager decided she wished to create one herself.
And, thus, DrabbleDay was born.
DrabbleDay is a low pressure community centered around fanfiction. Here we believe that writing every day helps the mind and skills of the author. Therefore, that's what DrabbleDay does. It encourages you to write 100 words (the length of a drabble) everyday. We believe that writing short pieces help authors exercise their skills in creative, new ways.
This may seem like a lot, but we offer different challenges for those with different schedules.
You may take up the 7 Days challenge, where you write a drabble every day for a week. Or, for the more ambitious, 30 Days is a month-long challenge. For those somewhere in between, you can choose the 15 Days challenge.
If you really want to get into the spirit of things, you can choose to take up the 90 Days challenge or the 184 Days challenge. And, finally, there are those who are absolutely bloomin' crazy (and I love them to death) who wish to accept the 365 Days challenge.

DrabbleDay concerns itself with all forms of media: anime/manga, movies, books, TV shows, and games. What it does not allow are drabbles centered around real people.
Original characters, reader inserts (more on this later) AUs, and crossovers are fine.

#2: Check the claim list to see if your chosen fandom, group, character, or pairing is open. We do not allow threesomes.
You may not have the same claim as anyone else. However, you're free to claim Fullmetal Alchemist 7 Days even if someone has Fullmetal Alchemist 184 Days. As long as it's a different challenge, the same thing may be claimed. Furthermore, now that we have more than one table for most of the prompts, two different people could have the same Day prompt as long as the tables are different (one has 30 Days A, the other 30 Days B). Theoretically, twelve people could claim Fullmetal Alchemist General Series at once.

You may claim up to two things at once - as long as they're from different fandoms. If you have two going and finish one (while still working on the other), you're free to make another claim.
You may claim a crossover (ie, Harry Potter and Fullmetal Alchemist, general series; or Balthier (Final Fantasy XII) x Nami (One Piece).
You may have as many AUs (Alternate Universes) as you wish.
You may post reader-inserts. If you wish to do so, simply claim your desired fandom and put (RI) next to the name -- D.Gray-man (RI). If it's for a pairing, have it be Character x Reader (ie, Lavi x Reader).
If one claims a group, another can still claim a single character or pairing from the group. Similarly, if you claim a character or pairing, you can mention anyone else in the fic as long as it revolved around your claim.

The format for claiming is as follows. If you do not follow it, your post will be deleted.
Name of Fandom: (ie, Harry Potter, Kingdom Hearts, etc.)
Claim Is: (ie, Pairing, General Series, etc.)
Characters: ~not needed for general claim~ (ie, Roy x Riza for a pairing, Bellatrix for a character, Organization XIII for a group)
Challenge: (7 Days, 90 Days, etc.)
Prompt Table: (A, B, etc.)
#4: Once your claim has been approved, feel free to start posting away!
You do not have to post in order of the prompts. Go crazy and go with your muse.
All posts must be kept behind a link -- LJ cut are preferred.
Technically speaking, a length of a drabble is 100 words. While we highly encourage you to keep to this guideline, we're not going to come after you if you go over it. The maximum, however, is 300 words.
If you miss a day and have two entries to post, put them in separate posts (it's easier for us for memory purposes). If you miss multiple days, separate posts would still be best. HOWEVER, if there are more than ten to post, you may put them in one link/post.
For the entry header, please put the Title (Fandom/Type/Challenge).

#5: Because this is a daily community, you must post every day. That's the real challenge of it, you see. However, I know real life things can get in the way sometimes. If that happens, you have a three day leeway for the 7 Days challenge, and a 7 day leeway for all the others. If you have not posted in 7 days, your claim will be revoked unless you post here, asking for a week's extension.
Once you finish, post here and you'll get a shiny new banner to display proudly wherever you wish.
