Though it contains no porn, written for this porn battle.

She calls him into the home theater room to tell him that the third attempt to recreate the Intersect is scheduled to come online in two days. She barely has the third word out when Morgan is paging Chuck; Morgan's pet name for him today is "Chuckles McGee." Casey is glowering in their direction from next to the GrillMaster.

Chuck has named that glower the "Chuckles McGee" glower. It's one of Morgan's particular favorites.

The CIA front this season has Sarah making elaborate confectionary flower shapes. She wears a patterned sundress, looks decidedly perfect-fifties-housewife. The irony isn't lost on him. Nor is he any less immune to her sharp glances or perfectly-tossed hair. He dreams of her in decidedly un-handlerish, certainly less than housewifely ways.

"So what do we do?"

Sarah furrows a tweezed brow at the scene going on behind him. Morgan is hanging upside down from the Nerd Herd desk, knees hooked over the counter. Casey stalks toward him, price scanner poised like a six-shooter. Somehow it never gets old, this game of mouse and intercontinental ballistic missile. "So, in two days... I guess, I head for the other end of the earth."

She tries a smile, but Chuck is not fooled. He may not know Sarah's real name or how old she was when she first saw Star Wars, but he knows how her eyes look when she isn't really smiling.

"Yeah, but, that hasn't worked out so well, yet," he points out, his voice rising on that hopeful, nakedly optimistic note. He clears his throat and fidgets with the MP3 player he had been repairing.

"It will this time." She doesn't look at him. Casey rattles the home theater room's door, moves on. Sarah sighs, then stares Chuck full in the face. "You're going to get your life back."

It still rings false, even with that wide smile to back it up. Chuck's heart sinks a little. If their time together has taught him anything, it's that maybe he doesn't want his old life back, not without whatever is between them. And, to his horror, he stammers that out, to the last uncertain syllable, and he can't breathe as he waits for her response.

"I can't keep saying goodbye to you," she says, and it's not a reciprocation, but an epitaph.

They have had this cover story worked out for months. Her "father" has been growing steadily sicker; she's flying out to see him, she'll be gone for a while. Ellie and Awesome and Morgan won't question it as much, this way.

She's down to a suitcase, and she comes over late, wearing little makeup, her fingers twisting in her cuffs.

"Are you really getting on a plane in the morning?" he asks, and she nods. He's not sure how he knows she's been crying.

They listen to the Arcade Fire album, and don't talk. The only time he's seen her more flustered is right after their kiss, after they found Bryce. He hugs her, brushes his teeth, and when he comes back, she's wearing a tank top and a pair of red lace-trimmed underwear, and his first thought immediately ducks for cover behind the much more reassuring certainty that this is just how she sleeps, even when she's not Sarah. They're just this comfortable, now that she's not putting on a show anymore.

"I'm gonna miss you," he says, on his back, staring at the ceiling.

Sarah wipes at her face. "I'm gonna miss you too."

He takes her to the airport in the morning, both of them bleary-eyed and jittery, and he would have said a thousand more things, he just needed more time. Time they don't have.

She smiles. "I'll write you."

He smiles, and hugs her very tight. Her face tips up to his and he does what he has always wanted to do: he kisses her with every bit of force and will he possesses, the way she did as the seconds ticked down in that warehouse, and she is just as desperate but it isn't enough. She pulls away from him with a soft noise, her lips swelled from the press of his, fear and warning in her gaze, and he watches until she's swallowed by the crowd, his heart breaking.

When he goes to bed that night, having gone through the entire day frozen, numb, his fingertips brush a folded piece of paper tucked under his pillow. He pulls it out and reads it by the moonlight, halfway expecting to see one of Morgan's convoluted escape plans or Klingon epithets.

He's so glad when it isn't.

SEASON PREMIERE–Academy Award nominee Michael Clarke Duncan (“The Green Mile”) guest-stars as Colt, a menacing operative. Chuck (Zachary Levi) prevents Colt from obtaining the Cipher — a device that would ultimately lead to a new Intersect. Chuck is told that this successful mission marks the end of his espionage career and the beginning of a normal life. Free from bullets and bombs, Chuck finally asks Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) out on a real first date. But Chuck’s role as the old Intersect is not good news for everyone as Casey (Adam Baldwin) deals with a difficult order assigned to him. Meanwhile at Buy More, Morgan (Joshua Gomez) devises an eccentric way to hire a new assistant manager. Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Jeff Krinsky, Vik Sahay, Julia Ling and Mark Christopher Lawrence also star.

So here’s the picture that comes up: She can feel her heartbeat in her head like a jackhammer, her eyelids feel so heavy she can barely see, and somewhere Bryce’s voice is telling her to stay awake. He’s laying back on some ugly headboard she’s never seen before and she’s propped up with pillows and part of his thigh behind her. She’s propped up because lying down may lead to sleep. His knee keeps nudging her in the side until she finally mumbles, “I’m up, I’m up.”

“You can’t fall asleep.”

“I’m not.”

“If you fall asleep I’m dragging you into that bathroom and running you under cold water. I’m serious.”

“Don’t worry. Not gonna sleep.”

“Have you seen the bathtub in there?” he goes on. “It’s pretty disgusting. You wouldn’t want to go in there. There’s this cr...”

She cant remember how that ended. She can’t remember much of what happened in between that conversation and the feel of the ice cold water pounding her awake at 4am. There was Bryce’s arms around her, there was his shoulder perfectly pillowing her head, and then there was cold hard bathtub. Then the water.

She lets out a few little screams and shivers but she doesn’t make any attempt to get up from the bathtub. She only looks up at Bryce, sees him through the curtain of water, standing akimbo and frowning down at her.

“Thanks,” she says.

“You’re welcome.”

This is the memory that springs to mind when Chuck asks her what her worst on-the-job injury is. She’s not sure why it springs to mind– a concussion is hardly the worst thing that’s happened to her– but all she can remember is how cold that water was. Also, she doesn’t like thinking of the times she’s been hurt.

“Uh, I don’t know, Chuck,” she says, “I’ve been fortunate enough not to get too hurt on the job.” Lie.

He’s sitting at the opposite end of the dinner table in his apartment and they’ve found themselves in the part of the conversation where there’s nothing else to talk about.

“Come on, Sarah, you’re a badass spy,” he says. “Never broke a bone?”

Funnily enough, breaking bones has never really been painful for her. The two times she did break bones all she heard was a snap, all she felt was dizzy. The worst part about breaking bones is being out of commission for six weeks.

“I got shot once.”

Chuck’s spoon makes a loud clattering noise against the bowl and his face contorts as he swallows wrong. “What?” he asks, horse. “I didn’t know you got– you never told me you got shot. Where?!”

“In Portugal.”

“I meant where as in where on your body. I never saw any scars.”

She smirks because, as if he’s ever seen every inch of her body. “Here.”

Chuck’s eyes follow her index finger as it points to a spot right above her hip on the right. “The bullet went right through, didn’t hit bone, no major organs. I was pretty lucky, actually.”

“I wouldn’t call getting shot pretty lucky but I guess that’s where you and I are different.” She can’t help the grin that’s stretching her lips. Chuck’s all sardonic and he’s obviously like that because he’s upset and he’s upset because she got shot. And that’s kind of sweet. “How is that not your number one on-the-job injury?” he asks. “Was it painful?”

“I don’t remember.” Lie.

“You don’t remember?” he asks, incredulous.

“You sort of just feel the impact,” she explains, shrugs, nonchalantly flicks her wrist. “And then you black out.” Another lie. She felt everything, and she didn’t black out-- not for a long time.

“Can I see it? Your scar?” Chuck asks sheepishly. He swallows and his eyes fall to her midsection again. She doesn’t know exactly what to say, and she’s taken aback. Sometimes the things that Chuck says, the way he is so innately shy and then so forward leaves her at a loss. She meets his eyes and after a moment she finds that all she can say is “Okay.”

She stands when he stands and inches back just a little as he gets closer, but when he reaches her she stays still. She hikes her shirt up a couple of inches on the side and watches him squint, searching for a tear in her skin. One of his eyebrows pops up, finally. “That little thing?” he says. “Not much of a battle scar.”

“That’s a good thing, right?”

“It depends on how you look at it, I guess. Does it still hurt?”

With those words alone her mind goes right back to the scene with the bathtub; the night she wasn’t allowed to go to sleep. She remembers the squeal of the faucet as Bryce finally turns the water off; the way he hooks his hands under her arms and lifts her as if she was a little kid. She remembers dripping, leaving a trail of water as he leads her back to the bedroom. She’s wide awake now but doesn’t do anything to help Bryce undress her. She stands there as he takes the shirt that’s sticking to her skin and pulls it up. She winces.

Bryce lets the shirt fall into a wet glop on the floor and turns his attention to her stomach, eyeing the spot where the bullet went through not a month before.

“Does it still hurt?” he asks her seriously.

“No.” Lie.

He sighs and puts a palm on either side of her face. “You’re not Superwoman,” he says. “Sometimes when you fall you’re not supposed to get right back up.” She smiles and nods and her forehead touches his. She remembers how good it felt to be in his arms, even freezing cold and wet. How pathetically secure, like he’d always be there.

“Don’t worry,” he says. “One day you’ll just wake up and realize it doesn’t hurt anymore.”

Chuck’s words ring in her ears. Does it still hurt?

“No,” she tells him. It doesn’t hurt at all.

My second Chuck & Sarah video and certainly the most complex video I have made to date. (It certainly took the most time!)

This video I focused on keyframing and split screen effects to chart the Chuck/Sarah story over the course of Season 1. It certainly refreshed alot of Final Cut skills!

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did creating it. It certainly is a relief to have finished it.
