Hi
You may remember that a friend of mine, a qualified and very good massage therapist, comes to my place in Clapham Junction regularly and offers one-hour massages (with oils for 45 quid, and without for 40 quid). These are fabulous, and worth every penny. We have vacancies for next weekend (16th and 17th August), when the next of these weekends will take place.
Further details are available on my LJ. If you are interested, please comment on the post there, with your email address so I can send you directions.
Cheers

Yep, the Burn Soo Bright indie disco extravaganza is back again! This month's theme is names - think Geno, Ruby, Sally Cinnamon and just about every song by Supergrass! Of course we'll still be playing our usual mix of classic Britpop and modern indie greats, and our guest DJ, the Unmixed Master, will be bringing a hint of the 80s to proceedings.
As always, we're at the Royal George, which is just down the road from the Astoria on Goslett Yard. It all kicks off at 8pm and goes on until 1am, and it's completely free to get in all night!
Have a look at our lovely website for all the information you need!

Hello folks.
Just a quick one to let you know that unfortunately Matt Crosby can no longer make it tonight so we've done a bit of switching around and now the fantastic Steve Hall has been added to the bill. So come along tonight and see "the pretty one from We Are Klang" doing some excellent stand up without the other two.
Don't forget we also have Wil Hodgson, Andrew O'Neill and two fantastic new acts - John Dorney & George Ryegold. And it's in a pub! With booze! Vaguely near a really good chip shop! What more could you want?

I don't know about you, but we're full of the joys of spring, so for this month's Burn Soo Bright night we thought what better way to celebrate our good mood than with a night packed full of colour.
Each month we have a different theme - and this month we'll be playing songs to do with just about every colour you can think of! We're including black and white (this is a nightclub, after all, not a science club!) and all the colours of the rainbow - so expect to hear from The White Stripes, The Bluetones and Ocean Colour Scene for starters! And we'll be playing our usual mix of Britpop, '90s, indie and a few '80s and more modern greats.
As usual, we're at the Royal George, handily located just off Charing Cross Road, from 8pm-1am, and it's completely free to get in!
Have a look at www.burnsoobright.co.uk/may08 for all the info - and as usual, we'd love to hear from you if you have a particular colourful song you'd like us to play.

WHAT NOW FOR THE LGBT COMMUNITY?
Wednesday 23 April 2008, 6.30-8.30pm
Now that we have won significant equality through legislation - including Civil Partnerships and the Goods and Services Act - how are LGBT groups and businesses coping?
- Is there still a need for ghetto groups like the GBA?
- Is there still a need to campaign?
- How is our assimilation going?
The GBA is hosting a debate for all the major LGBT organisations to see where we need to go next.
NEW VENUE:
City Inn - Westminster
30 John Islip Street, London SW1P 4DD
Cityinn.com
Cash bar. Free admission. Bring your business cards.
The meeting is open to everyone - colleagues, clients, friends - especially prospective new members!
There will be no tickets issued, your name(s) will be on our guest list.

I'm trying to put on a one night only exhibition/arts event as a closing party to this:
do any of you know any great, FREE venues/spaces for hire in London? They would need to have at least one large, white wall for a projection...
Thanks!

Hello, community! This one is for fans of the brilliant Terry Pratchett, who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers this year.
You may already have heard of the fan scheme, Match It For Pratchett, which aims to match Terry's donation of £50,000 ($1,000 000) to the UK Alzheimer's Research Trust.
I've been thinking about doing something suitably silly to raise money something in the spirit of the man and his works.
Would any of you be interested in a sponsored Witches vs Wizards (or other assorted Discworld characters) read-athon in Leicester Square¹, with tea, and maybe cake?
The idea being, we'd all dress up as Discworld characters, pick a Pratchett book, and read the whole thing sat in Leicester Square. We could collect sponsorship beforehand, and perhaps have collection buckets on the day too. I'm thinking late spring/early summer.
I'm trying to gauge interest, and if enough people seem up for it, I'll set the official ball rolling down the hill of fund-raising...
EDIT - I've contacted his publicist and the charity in question to see how to go about this in the right way.
If favourable replies come back, then we're on our way.
Keep your eyes on this community for more news.
